I am working with a friend that is running Mac OS X Mavericks on an iMac with a full size keyboard with number pad.
I have enabled numpad commander and checked the table to see if any of the key mapping has changed. Everything looks good.
When numpad 5 is pressed, the normal action is supposed to be identical to a VO spacebar. However, VoiceOver is announcing that focus has moved to the menu bar and as far as I can tell, no action has been performed. Very strange.
Hello everyone,
I have a question for those of you out there who have mac laptops. Is there any advantages to getting the 15.6 over the 13.3 laptop? The reason I ask is there is a fairly big price difference between the two sizes and I may be purchasing one soon. Thank you ahead of time for any thoughts on this.
I am legally blind and my husband is totally blind. I have an iphone that I like a lot and my hubby is coming along nicely learning to use vo. He currently has a pc that I know is going to die soon and we will need to replace it. He works for a local church doing event planning/facilitating and pastoral teaching and blogging. We had trouble with screen readers of late and have decided to switch to apple. I am curious as to what route we should go. Would a mac be more conducive to his needs or can an ipad do what he wants. He does a ton of email and word processing.
If you have used or you are still using MacBook 12, how’s your experience? A friend has been offered one for very good price, and the unit is in pristine shape.
2017 MacBook Air. I got it on 24 January
So I was using it for a bit, no bashing keyboard like a maniac, nothing like that. But then, the key just. Well !?., fell off. Literally fell off the keyboard, since there is no key to protect the wise any more, would Apple need to service the entire keyboard or just put down our key back on it
Just asking I meant the wires
Hello
I'm planning to buy MacBook Air. I will use it in school. I like 11 inch more than 13 inch. /But 11 inch memory is 4GB and 13 inch is 8GB. Will 11 inch enough fast?
Thanks
Last year I got an iPad mini-4 and a Zag. keyboard case. Didn't mind the keyboard keys being smaller back then... Now, , I'm considering migrating from the iPad mini-4 to the latest MacBook Air. Questions before purchasing:
1. Is the keyboard of the MacBook Air full size?
2. Does the keyboard layout include the control, option, and command keys on both sides of the spacebar?
3. What would you warn me about the MacBook Air before I spent my pennies?
Hi all,
Since last november I have a macbook air 11 inch.
I've bought it new.
What i notice is that I am not having the most battery as expected.
Offcourse I know that battery performance relys on a lot of things such as application usidge, number of USB/tunderbold devices connected en wither or not using wireless or bluetooth.
Do you applevis readers have recommendations for the battery to perform to the best?
Are their spesefic settings related to voiceover that I sould swich on or of?
Also I would like to know tips in general.
I've been trying to figure out a safe way to do this for some time, but most of the visual representations are not very descriptive. I would like to remove certain keys from my MacBook Air 2013. Some simply do not have the travel time that they used to. I'm not sure what's trapped beneath the keys, as I do refrain from eating or drinking near my notebook; I'm guessing it's simply an accumulation of certain things.
Anyhow, has anyone undertaken the process of removing keys and successfully putting them back on?
Thanks.
I am looking at buying a Macbook Air (after many years of Windows). I primarily do writing, spreadsheets, email, etc. I don’t see so I’ll always have VO on. Would I be better off with 8 GB of RAM or will 4 GB work for me?
I'm aware of the deep tecnical issues relating to this question. It's more my instinctive reaction I am doubting.
I use speech and will mainly be using Safari, Pages and Numbers. I can't see many real advantages of getting the laptop over the iPad with keyboard case. The iPad will have celular to, the laptop would use my iphone's WiFi.
I can't think of a single reason to go for the Macbook, other than the fact that it's new! So what does your nose tell you?
BTW, I already got a Windows Ten laptop with JAWS.
I am in the market for a new laptop--a MacBook in particular. I am wanting to use it mainly to run Windows 7 Home Premium in Boot Camp, so I can go back and forth and eventually get to using OS X more. I have JAWS 14, Microsoft Office, Sound Forge, and a few other programs here and there that I want to run. I have a large audio recording and music database, some of which can be transferred onto external storage if necessary.
Hello,
I have a 2013 MacBook Air running Windows 7 via Boot Camp. My unit has an i7 processor, 8Gb of ram, and 512Gb of SSD space.
For the last two months, I’ve been experiencing issues connecting to my home AT&T U-Verse WiFi network. I have a 25 MBps internet connection, but the connection is slow: webpages take a little while to load, downloads stall out or take a long time, and every so often the connection just drops. Every other device in the house works wonderfully with no issues whatsoever.
I had used pc computer with screen reader Jaws during all my life, and will in these days buy a new laptop, but I'm confused and wondering something.
Will I continuely use pc with Jaws cuz of I can that commands and have good experience and buy a Asus Ultrabook by screen reader Jaws or drive a Macbook Air with VO? There's a great difference between this models. I haven't had any problem with Jaws for pc but Macbook Air will work 100% great also is it true? What's your opponion and have you some tips?
Hi all
Anyone using a keyboard protector on their MacBook or even desktop Apple keyboard?
If so, which brand and how are you finding it? Is tactile feedback still fine, can you feel the keys under your fingers etc?
I'm considering getting one for the MacBook Pro I'll be buying. My keyboards usually get very durty, up to now with my PC's and iMac I always used cheap USB Logitec keyboards, then I just replace them around twice per year when they eventually get too durty to clean properly.
I just got my first Macbook Pro today. I had to take it to Geek Squad over at Best Buy because we don’t have an Apple store in my town. They were able to get VO started and show me some basic things on the machine.
When I got it home today, I charged the battery and took a nap.
Just a few minutes ago, I was in the Quick help guide, and everything was going fine. I sat the computer down to go do something, and when I returned, my Macbook just quit on me for some reason.
I don’t think it is even turning on, but I can’t tell.
