Programming and App Development
I'm curious to know how those of you who have published apps to teh store go about creating your screenshots, particularly if you're a totally blind developer. I had hoped that taking the screenshots on 1 device (my iPhone) and then uploading them would be sufficient, and that scaled versions would be produced. I've since learned that this isn't the case, and that app screenshots seem to be rather more complicated than simply screenshots of the app itself.
In previous xCode, it was easy to create constraints for auto layout by selecting UI objects in the document outline table and choose align.
However, align is dimmed unless you hide document outline table.
In xCode 8.3, how do you select multiple objects and create constraints?
Thanks for your help!

all the instructions assume drag and drop. I've heard that xcode 8 has accessibility improvements but have not scene any voiceover specific examples on using xcode 8 with the new improvements. Given the previous link how would I follow the instructions with Voiceover and xcode 8?
Hello. A family member had this idea that had been stuck in my mind for over three years and it would be neat to know if there's any way on how I can use someones real recorded voice such as friends with permission usage first on the voice over app and have that particular voice read/write words, emails etc. In other words, Whatever information I read or write, that particular recorded voice would say what I type on a computer or other devices.
Hey All,
I'm currently on a small team working to build an app that will connect individuals that have some degree of vision loss to those with vision to assist with tasks that require eye-sight. One component of the design calls for a pool of volunteers (or something of that nature) to be on the other end of this connection. Would love to hear some feedback if anyone has run into a similar obstacle. Additionally, if visually impaired, would you find this app useful in your day to day?
Thanks all,
Andrew
Iβm trying to decide between using Windows with JAWS or Mac with VoiceOver as my main setup going forward.
Windows with JAWS is generally considered better for programming in the long run, has stronger Office app support, and makes things like OneDrive and even local storage easier to manage. Mac with VoiceOver, on the other hand, sometimes works better with certain tasks, is free, can be less buggy, and has smaller updates β but itβs less customizable, and Macs are less common among programmers and in the workforce overall.
Hello,
Can someone recommend a good DAISY book reader App for the iPhone?
Thanks,

Hi,
I'm trying to understand something about the events that get fired in this situation. Also, are there any decent web debugging tools that run on IOS? I do not have a Mac. Here is the situation.
Hi Xcode developers,
Does anyone know how to determine the current line of source code when debugging in Xcode? For example, when a breakpoint is hit or when stepping through code , how do I know the next line of code to be run? I understand there is a visual indication of the current line in the Xcode editor but I cannot find a non-visual way to determine it.
Thanks.
George Calvert
Hi,
Normally I use Danish as the iphone language. When I use some apps written in English, something tells voiceover to switch the synthesizer language back into Danish, maybe when a new page of the app is opened, or in the case of Twiterific as soon as I touch an area in the status bar.
When you have more than one language installed in VO you see the languages in the rotor, but also what VO calls the standard language, and often this is what Vo decides that I want to use.
Hi everyone!
I'm Robert, and I've been working on a game called <strong>Partial: An Audiovisual Odyssey</strong> for almost a year now, with 3 or 4 design overhauls since then. Having some design tips for visually-impaired players would help the project go a long way, and I need your help with clarifying some design decisions. So what is the game about?
I'm looking for advice from VoiceOver users about what they would expect from an equation-editing app.
I am an app developer designing an equation-editing app for iPhone, iPad and Mac. Think Microsoft word but for creating and editing equations. It will be an app rather than a plug-in. However, it will be easy to share equations to include them in documents in other apps like Microsoft Word or export them as LaTex. My new app will not solve equations but can be used to create and edit equations. I have made one previous VoiceOver-optimised app so I have some experience.
Hello AppleVis community. I am Furkan, the developer of PageWalker, an iOS app that turns classic novels like Sherlock Holmes, Treasure Island and The Count of Monte Cristo into short choose-your-path adventures. You listen to a scene, then pick what the hero does next. A wrong choice ends the story.
I built it for two reasons: to make the classics fun to read again, and to make them open to people who can't see the page.
DEVELOPERS! Let me toss you an app idea, that has not been implemented!
If I new how to code, I would have developed this app already, but because I don't, you could choose to run with it, make some money, and all I want, very
honestly, is just to have the app on my iOS device.
I'll even pay for a copy!
:)
Hello everybody!
Over the past few months my partner and I have been working on developing an audio game for iOS and Android devices called Sound Stomp. It's a call-and-response game not entirely unlike Oroiol Gomez's awesome game Rhythm Rage but featuring a few different means of input.

Hello to everyone, I'm a beginner programming and game dev hobbyist. I want to develop a game about ecosystem conservation and exploration. I mostly dicided on core of the game. I want people to feel curious annd wonderment, empowered and motivated to protect ecosystems in the game. I am writing this post to gage people's interest, get ideas from people and find people who can work with me on the game. So I will appriciate any game reccomendations, opinions about the game, ideas of game design etc.
Hi,
I'm developing an app which does not require rotor actions throughout the app except for one screen. Currently, my developer has improperly implemented the rotor actions menu, so tapping on a button makes VO say "Actions Available. Swipe up or down for a custom action."
Right now, he has "Activate" and "Escape" set as the actions in the actions rotor, but I want no actions rotor at all. There is nothing to take action on in the app as it will be displaying nested static information.
