I have a MacBook Air 2019 and all my macOS and bootcamp updates in rule.
I have a lot of sound issues using bootcamp. from the beginning while using speakers, JAWS sounds weird compared to the sound of VoiceOver on macOS and my other pc. Also I've being having issues when I suspend my mac using windows most of the times, when I wake the macbook up, nothing is heard through the speakers or headphones, and the only way to solve the problem is to restart.
Hi everyone,
I need to install windows on my macbook with touchbar but I'm wondering how can I invoked function keys with NVDA?
Hope someone can explain
Thanks in advance.
I really am not sure at the Moment what is Apple's Trouble and what Jaws. For example, Dialog fields are titled with "modal" in Firefox 50. But I haven't been using Jaws on a 18 on a Windows Computer.
Another Thing, which is not an accessibility issue: Some Desktop Apps in Windows don't save their start Settings. Thunderbird keeps asking if I want to use it for E-Mails or News asf, even if I check not to ask me at every start. Adobe Acrobat Reader wants to set up Accessibility Settings every time I start it.
Hello,
I am using an iMac, I think it is the late 2013 model.
I am considering putting windows on it. Is it possible to have windows on it? Utilising the latest version of JAWS? How would this work with voiceOver? I am thinking of getting a windows keyboard, so I do not have to remap the keyboard. Is this a practical solution? If I utilise vm ware fusion, where do I purchase this in Australia? Is it possible to use the built-in utility to put windows on?
Thanks in advance.
Hi i am sorry if this has been discussed before but i have a question, when you install bootcamp on a mac does that mean you could use it as if it were a windows computer. Can youse microsoft on it like on an ordinary windows computer
This probably has to be the stupidest thing Apple has ever done to us blind people, like, literally ever.
So, I decided to install windows on my 2017 MacBook Air with 128 GB of storage and 8 GB of RAM. Plug in my headphones, And go through the partition process, find the disk image, does that all of that?
But then I get to a sticky situation, choosing how much storage to put on the drive.
I tried to use everything VoiceOver command key. I can use to try and get into the slider to change it, but Iβm unsuccessful, so I press the continue button.
I'm hoping to finally make the MacBook plunge in the not-too-distant future, but for a number of reasons, I'm going to need to run Windows on it as well. So here are a couple of questions that have been giving me pause:
1. I've read a lot about talking Windows installers for installing Windows using BootCamp. If I'm going to have sighted help, and don't need to worry about speech during setup, do I need anything special to install windows, or just a plain old copy of the Windows OS?
Hello everyone, I would like to ask about the Wine application on Mac OS. It is used for emulating applications in the Windows environment, but apparently, there is no need to create a virtual machine with the Windows system. I am curious whether such application emulation works with the VoiceOver screen reader or not. I suspect that it does not, but I am very interested to know if any of you have ever tried using this application with a screen reader on Mac OS. I would appreciate your responses.
One of the most common complain of folks coming from windows, alongside the productivity stuff, is gaming.
While I have no single response for the productivity thing, wine might be a viable solution for those who miss the audio games from windows in their mac.
I would like to know if any of you have tried to install wine on the mac.
I have found the below link but before proceeding I decided to ask if some of you have already tried it.
I know that VO is not likely to handle wine emulated software, but audio games are generally self voiced, making vo unnecessary for that stuff.

So i have Homebrew installed. I tried installing wine:
brew install cask --no-quarantine wine-stable
or whatever it was, I just copied it right off of winehq.org. Then I installed winetricks, again, copied right off the site. Then I wanted to install SAPI, so I could try running Ball Bouncer, which I apparently downloaded somehow or other. So I did winetricks apps install sapi or whatever the command was, again I just looked at the command help.
Hi,
Has anyone used win on x? If so does it and the pro version work with voiceover? Is it like wine? How well does it work with voiceover? I'm thinking of buying either the pro version or the regular version.
Hi all.
I recently got a new MacBook and so am selling the old one. Can anyone tell me how I should go about wiping the old one clean before I sell it?
Thanks
I'M NEW TO USING VOICEOVER ON IMAC
BY ACCIDENT, I CHANGED "COMMAND + W" (WHICHCLOSES A WINDOW). NOW IF I PRESS "COMMAND + W" IT OPENS "SEARCH THIS IMAC".
I ALREADY TRIED RESTORING THE KEYBOARD COMMANDS IN SYSTEM , BUT IT DOESN'T WORK; MY COMPUTER DOESN'T DO ANYTHING.
PLEASE PLEASE HELP. I USE "COMMAND + W" A LOT AND I WOULD LIKE TO HAVE MY NORMAL COMMAND RESTORED.
THANK YOU FOR YOUR HELP.
Hello,
Has anyone attempted to use Wireshark to analyze network traffic with VoiceOver enabled? If so, is it accessible? I do not currently have access to a Mac computer, but Wireshark is completely inaccessible under Windows, and I was just wondering if accessibility was better for Wireshark on Mac. This software is used in some of the IT courses I'm attending, and it would be good if I could find an accessible version.
Any information on this would be appreciated.
Thank you,
Dane
Over the last couple of weeks, I've tried to shift my audio editing from Windows using GoldWave to Mac using either Audacity or Amadeus Pro, but both fall short. Audacity falls way short because of UI accessibility issues their developers are admirably well aware of, though one can do some basic tasks as Paul's AppleVis blog entry points out. Amadeus, though, fails at a few things, too, as far as I can tell. Here are the issues I've tried to email Martin Hairer about, with zero response. Please let me know if any of these things are in fact possible.
Iβm learning how to code with Swift language and the tutorials I have require Mojave. I didnβt know if this is still available?
Also I needed help with finding the best accessible Mac for a beginner programmer? I need prices too. Can the keyboard be removed?
