Hello Apple Vis forum
Knight Commander has just been approved for the App Store.
It has been a real struggle to get it their as I seem to have broken almost
all of the guidelines that are set out for developers to follow.

The game is not as far forward as i would like as i have
been busy for the last 2 weeks to get it approved.

As with most of my apps and games they get a whole lot better
when released and people support them.

Thank you to all the people who joined in on the beta testing and gave
good feedback.
Hopefully i now have a core of people who will test future apps.

As for promo codes I have decided who will get one so please do not ask.

Is there any documentation outside of the game. I quit the tutorial and can’t seem to get it back. Another problem is that I have two characters who have sort of become one. Thank you very much it is a great game.

I think to solve that make sure your people eats and sleep to raise their time and energy. When the disaster happens it only takes away a portion of energy and time.

Let’s talk about war real quick.
So I think that you should add a multiplayer function where you can war with other players not just computer opponents.
You could also add town defenses.
And I would like to see a more interactive war screen so that when I go to war I don’t just here swords clashing and then after all that finishes it tells you whether I won or not I want to be part of the war not just hear it.
Let’s talk about the things I want to get fixed.
Get rid of the one move quest those are impossible you cannot do a one move quest because you have to use at least three moves to get a quest so get rid of to move quests and one move quests. Love the game. I also love the update where war is now a one on one fight but I still want a more interactive fighting experience.

P.S. The sounds are broken again I have to listen to about 10 people eating at the same time and I have to wait for everything to be done before I can do anything else

And the single digits are kind of broken as well. When energy goes up to over 100000 k it reads as single digits and the coins or gold reads the same way as well. Some times its difficult to tell how much money you have and energy. Another question is how do I use the bakery? I have it built up but finding no way to use it. Thanks for any help.

Do I have to restart to get the dragon feature? I would like to know wich buildings are actually useful.

The buildings and items that give bonuses are now appearing in the medal screen.

The bakery currently does not give any bonus but may do in the future.
Some other buildings do not give anything at the moment but also may do in the future.

It is a case of weaving them into the overall game and it making some sort of sense.

The next update has bug fixes
and new stuff too.

It will probably need a restart of the game as some items have been fixed for example wine.

Hello
The following are the main features in the new release.

New buildings added need to be made with mana.
Glass fountain
Metal pump
Brick machine
Charcoal engine
Fire lighter
A task will now fill the warehouse if it would have overfilled the warehouse.
You now get 25% bonus for building multiple buildings or items not 100%.
Sound of task now plays on team returning not player returning.
User guide added to option screen
Wine fixed [needs restart of game to take effect]
Food screen refresh fixed.
Resurrection spell fixed
Food hall now gives food bonus.
sanatorium now gives sleep bonus
bell tower now gives time bonus.

The game will need a clean start to fix the wine and i suspect to allow the new features to be added also
To perform this

1.Make sure you have only 1 install of the game including beta versions of the game.
2.Quit any instance of the game in app switcher.
3.delete the app and re-install.

Due to the complex nature of the game this is the only way to fix problems with the definitions of the items.

I'm wondering if an iCloud connection could be made possible so that, should a game restart be required, the current progress would not be lost. Also, if one transfers to a new device, the progress would not be lost, either. Is this possible?

I can see the need for this sort of feature
as constantly re-starting is a real pain.

It is going to need a totally new save and load routine to make it fail proof on a line by line basis
As the game data is coded into the database that holds the item definitions.
Which is cross referenced to provide cost and item part lists that are definable.

I will look into options and apologies for the thinking out aloud bit above.

Okay, I love this game and it's very addicting. However, I must report a few really annoying things I've run into. I got the game, and completed at least 3 quests but they never refreshed, even though the screen said sell 0 so and so for however much gold. Then they failed and I lost the gold. Also, the construction feature with mana is lovely, but all 4 times I've tried to use it the buildings still show up as stock 0. And, after I updated to the newest version and restarted the game I still don't get a bonus for the sanitorium even though I've built it. But, I still love this game and I figure those won't get fixed unless I report them. Thanks for the hard work, and I'll keep playing. Oh, can we possibly have horses and stables, just a suggestion.

After the most recent update, when trying to open inventory screen, the game closes completely. I tried closing the game out from app switcher, and I also restarted the phone, as well. After trying to activate the inventory screen a couple times, the game will not open, whatsoever.

The only way to solve the bug is to
1.quit the app from the app switcher.
2.delete and install the game.
Apologies for the trouble.

This is exactly why this game needs iCloud backup. I a m going to have to lose all of my progress because I cannot even make the game open now. Hopefully, we will be able to do iCloud backups soon!

After downloading latest update, I also deleted game and reDownloaded it. unless I am doing something wrong, when the financial page comes up and says everything will drop, I then went to trader and ran it. The coin sounds sounded and afterall the moves were completed, all my products went to 1. Before the latest update, when I did those steps, my product would have ended up with higher prices then 1. I also accepted a Quest for something like 70 buckets of water and went to inventory and I had 160 products. So I tap on 50 percent and sold 80. Then I went to the Quest to finalize the transaction. When I looked at the Quest at that time, it said that I had 0 buckets of water with about 5 or so moves left. Then after all the moves were finished, it took that amount of coins from me. So has anyone else had these problems, or if I am doing something wrong, can you tell me what to do. Thanks Dave.

You are doing the quest thing right it is just not working properly.
I will try and fix this for the next update which will be some time next week.

I do a lot of quest and have not had any problems with them. However, I have built 7 sanitariums but I am not getting credit for them in metals. Back to the quest. It is impossible to do a quest in under 3 moves so it is frustrating when I go to do a quest and most of them are to be done in 1 or 2 moves.
Still a wonderful game. Thank you for all you are doing on it.

I don't think I have read all 200 some odd posts, but I am having a problem with shops and markets. I have built hundreds of each and have seen no effect on the price of anything. Anyone else having problems with shops and markets?

My experience has been after the first up date on the shop the price went up for one round of selling what ever the shop was for. However, now building a shop gives the same price the item is already.
As for the market I have never found any results from building them either.

Hi folks, so I've built several buildings and tools to reduce the time it takes for production. However, I've not seen any changes. I've built I'd say about 20 town clocks and bell towers, plus several shoes and bicycles.

The last quest before the resources tab still does not work. Looking forward to when you fully implement the game. Have some great features and looking forward to what you do next.

Also, I think that dragon that wants food disaster is bugged. No matter how much food I have or create within the time limit, it always ends up destroying every building I have built.

Once those are fixed I'll enjoy playing the game again. Otherwise its a great game.

Done so far
Contracts feature added.
Works in all screen orientations.
All screens are now accessed by swiping at the top of the screen.
Screen names now have information added.
Quest results show up automatically.
Trader task fixed.
Mana removed from quests
Unaccepted quests regenerate when less than 5 moves
Last quest fixed.
Sanitorium bug fixed.

As for the dragon disaster
you need meat to solve it.

Make a spear
go hunting

I find it tedius to have to equip each team member, each slot with weapon of choice. I like to have each team member have each slot equipped with same weapon for a balanced game play. Is there a way to speed up this process?

These are the main points that have changed...
The reason for changing the navigation is to allow the previous and next buttons to be located in the bottom corners
to allow easy access via explore by touch.

It also allows descriptions to be added to the screen names.

Added weapon sound effects in war.
Contracts feature added.
Complete the contracts to gain mana.
Works in all screen orientations.
All screens are now accessed by swiping at the top of the screen.
Screen names now have information added.

Hello

The only way to solve the problem is to

1.Quit the game from the app switcher.

2.Delete and install the game again.

This will mean you lose your progress.

It is due to the new buildings being added to the database that is cross referenced

to find the items, so when it comes across a building for the first time it crashes.

A new update is being coded as this is being written to solve the construct bug.
and should be sent to Apple app review sometime today.

John, just received your latest comments about having to re-re-install; I know a lot of people who love this game but or frustrated with all the re-installs. Other than feedback, is there anyway we can help?

Thank you for the offer of help but it is when items are added
to the database.

The problem is
On startup the game will load the saved file
When the code has to reference a unknown item it drops out
this is to stop values being corrupted within the database.

The integrity of the save file is lost to me when i am developing the app as
one of the first tests apple do when a app gets submitted to the app review process is does it run from a clean install.
So to make sure the app runs i have to ensure it runs from a clean install.

I must admit the code is not very flexible as it
not very friendly when adding new items to the game database.

It is not a excuse but it is how the game developed.

Version 1.1.8 has been sent to the app review and hopefully will not destroy any database structures.

Hello John. These continuing issues with the database which cause the gamers to have to re-install is another reason for using iCloud. Is there any update for iCloud implementation? I think this would solve your problem; although, admittedly, I'm not a programmer so don't know how it would work, but it seems that it should solve the multiple installations issue. I would also think that it would lighten your workload, too.

I looked into iCloud and it would not solve the problem
The problem is that the structure of the database is created from definition files
and then the data is loaded so far so good.
It is when the game references a new building it ggoes boom
and fall out.
All iCloud would do is save the corrupted file to all your devices.

I am looking into file sharing but it is not very friendly as it would need
the player to backup their device using itunes and then when something goes wrong
restore the file from the file sharing option in itunes.
As itunes is not very friendly depending on what version it is it is not a route i want to go down.

When i get the time i will code a new save routine to save the data in a format that can be added to with ease
and everything will be lovely.

Good Morning John. Thanks for the technical explanation for the programming aspects of the game. Hopefully you will be able to create the new routine soon. Having to reinstall the game over and over really takes the fun out of the game because you can't make any progress. For now, I'm only playing the game in a very limited way. I'm not even trying to build anything because it will all be lost anyway.

Here's to hoping the new routine can be implemented, then all will be well again.

I really love the contracts. Could you please make more using food. As it stands I was not making any food because it had no purpose. The one barbecue contract makes a reason to produce 3 things. Please, please more food contracts.

I got this game yesterday and I love it! Thank you so much for creating it. I do have a few questions.

I don’t know how to make blocks. Can anyone help me?

I am also having trouble with time. I have increased the time; I think my people have something like 9 minutes now. But I keep having to make them hybernate because they have only 8 seconds left, 9 seconds left, etc. That part of the game is exhausting. Can anyone give me any poiinters on how to avoid this? I have 10 people and eight are hybernating.

I don’t know what I am doing with building and resources. Not sure if there is a set formula you should follow or what. I am just completing quests and trying to make as much of everything as I can and hoping for a quest that requires the items.

To restore peoples time to work tell them to sleep.
Hibernating will take a long time and restore both energy and time to work.

As for a plan there is not one you just build buildings to make items
you can send your people to war.
The game was designed to allow people to build a empire the way they want and not to follow a set story or plan.

I have noticed that quests never require more than 100 items and that a lot of products are never given a quest. Also, the price is never more than 500 gold. Will the other products be given quests eventually? And will there be quests with more than 100 items?

John, thank you so much again for this game. I have been playing it nonstop for a few days. Lol. It is awesome! The best game I have ever played on my phone. Thanks so much for the accessibility.

I have over 200 shops and the first time I sell the items from the new shop the amount of gold I get is higher. The next time I go to sell items it is back to 1 gold or whatever the original price was. This seems counterproductive as we have to make gold to expand and we use our resources to build more shops. I spent all evening building shops to get higher prices, for example. I was also oping for more ink shops. Lol.

Thank you all for your interest in the game.

As for gold and the price of items
the economic model in the game will decrease the price of a item when you sell it
you can raise it by making items that are components of that item.
It is supposed to stop players making the same item over and over again.

You can raise the price of all items by telling someone to be a trader.

More quests will be added
