The story and release of Knight Commander.

By John from Wood…, 9 August, 2018

Forum
iOS and iPadOS Gaming

Hello Apple Vis forum
Knight Commander has just been approved for the App Store.
It has been a real struggle to get it their as I seem to have broken almost
all of the guidelines that are set out for developers to follow.

The game is not as far forward as i would like as i have
been busy for the last 2 weeks to get it approved.

As with most of my apps and games they get a whole lot better
when released and people support them.

Thank you to all the people who joined in on the beta testing and gave
good feedback.
Hopefully i now have a core of people who will test future apps.

As for promo codes I have decided who will get one so please do not ask.

As ever all feedback is very welcome.

"
i need grapes and apples, how do i make them
"

you need to build fruit farms

To complete quests you first make sure you ahve the required materials, then go take the quest, then go sell the materials, then go back to quest screen and it'll trigger completion.

By Sabrina on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

Honestly? I am still stuck. I don't understand why.
It won't let me hybernate. It just says requires 0 energy and I think it is 0 seconds. And if I double tap on this nothing at all happens. So I don't ,know what to do.
I love this game however but as I cannot play I cannot.

By Sabrina on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

Okay, when my tribe is all exhausted for some reason it won't let me recruit new people so the only thing to do right now is to restart but I will wait until the next update with doing that because I had come very far.

By privatetai on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

As it stands now, I'm at a point where I am losing motivation in the game.
Keep in mind, I'm sure this will change as the world expand, so I'm definitely not saying it's a bad game, or a boring game, or that I won't play it no more- it's just...
With 976779411 gold, 20 people armed with cannons, and all the "functional" tasks/buildings built up, there's nothing to do or reason to do them lol.
The quests aren't really worth the effort at this point, there's no war unless I go start one.
The only reason to make anything at this point is to make gold which I don't really need anymore, lol...
Ah! Having everything you've wanted can be a lonely thing indeed!

Thank you, Knight Commander, after so many eyars, now I finally understand how some incredibly rich people can be depressed!

By Nori on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

Now I build Fruitsfarm lebel4.
I made a few time.
But I just made named fruits and cost is 0gold. What is need to make Orange or the other fruits.

How do I make wheat?Ok

By Sabrina on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

To make wheat you need a crop farm I believe.
Here is an observation of my bug. Now it tells me my people all have minus in time.
I had come very far and am waiting to restart the game until the next update.

By Sabrina on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

I had one character who was not on minus seconds and now I have healed all of my people. Awesome. Now I will have to help Waynne in the hospital but gold is no problem right now.

According to the Shop screen, my energy level is 608. According to the People screen, the energy level is still at the baseline of 250. I think this is still a bug.

Also, now that we can do the long press to start the people completing a task, once the task has been completed, I have noticed that the sound that is made has a weird echo, no matter what task it may be. I think this is also a minor bug.

By Sabrina on Monday, August 27, 2018 - 00:33

Is there a limit on how many times you can upgrade a building?
For example the animal farm. Is there any limit?

By John from Wood… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hello
The new version has been sent to app review.

It fixes a lot of persistent bugs and provides a better experience.

The main two features to be added were
History and Disasters.
History will keep a record of all tasks and sales as well as all items made.
It is accessed in the shop screen only when you have performed some task.

Disasters will occur every now and then.

Some need action and some do not.
They all have consequences.

The game is starting to get a good feel about it

More features will be added soon.

Thank you all for the support and feedback.

By Sabrina on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I really love this update. I have added the game to the iOs app directory because I wanted it done. So now it is there. Fruit farm is working now and I cannot screw up with negative values wich is really great because last time I almost got stuck, if it had not been for Wayne.

Has anyone been able to make rubber yet? I still can't make rubber, even though all the components are in stock. This has been a bug ever since the first release, I think, and it still hangs on to the game.
This is a pretty boring bug, cause it prevents further progress when there's a lot of stuff that can't be built or made without rubber.
Really hope this one gets sorted out soon!
In all other regards, I'm loving the game! :)

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

For reference, I previously posted the following:

According to the Shop screen, my energy level is 608. According to the People screen, the energy level is still at the baseline of 250.

After the most recent update, the Shop screen just shows how much gold is needed before I can increase again. As you can see from the above info, I should be at 608 energy but when I started playing this morning, I only showed 250 energy, which means the previous two or three purchases to get me to level of 608 energy were either wasted or never credited.

In addition, I sent my people to do two tasks and then put them to sleep. After they became available for work again, they show five minutes but only 222 energy. So, I can't even get the workers back up to their original amount of energy, either.

It looks like there are still bugs with the energy component.

By kool_turk on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Is there any way you can choose which person can go first when you start a war?

No matter which person you choose in the people screen it makes no difference, that same person will always go first in a battle, unless he or she is out of action.

That would be a nice feature.

Oh and sending your people off to war, is a nice and quick way of making money, just make sure you equip them with good weapons, and don't get them killed lol.

By John from Wood… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

The energy button in the shop is to increase the maximum energy
that your people can have.

Telling someone to sleep will only add 200 seconds to someones time to work.

On the rubber issue
could you send me a screenshot of you long pressing make rubber
please send to
info@woodideapps.co.uk

Thank you

Is there a limit for all the buildings how many levels you can build them?

By Sabrina on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Okay, I somehow managed to get 31 seeds and now I cannot remember how I got them because I have had many people working in the crop farm and I have had them working in the fruit farm but no seed and all I need right now is one seed to build a vinyard and this is really annoying.

By Cliff on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hi John! I tried to email you a screenshot as you requested, but I got a mail delivery failure mail in return, so perhaps you could check the spelling of the mail address you provided a few posts up.
I tapped directly on the email link in your post to open a new blank mail to you, so I couldn't have messed up your address! :)
Take care :)

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hello John. Perhaps I didn't clarify my energy-related problems effectively enough. Let me try again.

Problem one: To begin with the game gave me 250 energy for my workers. Subsequently, prior to this latest release of the game, I had purchase two or three more levels of energy from the shop, which took my workers up to 608 energy, according to the shop screen. However, when I view the people screen, they still show them as only having 250 energy available.

Problem Two: The other problem that I have seen, only since the latest update is the fact that, when I put my workers to sleep, their energy stores are no longer increased up to the 250 level; whereas, prior to the update, whether I chose food or sleep, their energy levels would be restore to the 250 level.

Any ideas?

By kool_turk on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I can confirm the energy bug, it restores time, but not energy.

It might not even be a bug, seeing as before you could survive on no food and just sleep to restore your energy, this way, you need to eat and sleep.

I'd make it so you would need to do both, because let's face it, you can't survive on sleep alone, the body also needs food.

By privatetai on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I don't mind this new thing about having to eat and sleep both- it's more realistic, otherwise all that food was pointless.

I also love the new disaster system, and thanks so much for the history function!

By John from Wood… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

The add energy buttoning the shop increases the maximum amount of energy your people can have at any one time.

It does not increase their current energy.
The same is for the add time button in the shop.
and their time to work levels.

In previous versions when you exceeded the maximum energy level of a person it
also set time to work to its current limit.
This was a bug and is no longer the case in version 1.0.30 and later.

You can create as many of what ever you like.

The rubber works it might need you to restart your game.

Thank you for the screenshot it was helpful.

By privatetai on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I just built 93 shops. Having to click okay that many time was...painful! lol

By maxi on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

how do i deal with disasters?

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hello John.

To follow up on the energy thing... You wrote "The add energy buttoning the shop increases the maximum amount of energy your people can have at any one time.

On my game, the amount of energy has been increased from the shop screen but has not ever been reflected on the people screen for the available amount of time to work. As stated in other posts about this issue, I should have had 608 energy available, due to shop purchases, but workers only show 250 energy available.

Either I am confused or there is some bug.

Any help or additional explanations are welcomed.

Despite this issue, I truly enjoy the game and can't wait to see how this world will expand.

By John from Wood… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

In reply to by Roxann Pollard

Tell your people to eat to increase their energy.
and sleep to increase their time to work.

Their energy and time to work will go as high as the value you purchased in the shop.

Hope this helps

By kool_turk on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, energy replenishes when you eat gradually.

So to make things easier to understand let's say your maximum energy is 500, you currently have 300 energy.

Now, before you use to repllenish your energy by either sleeping or eating in one hit.

So if you sleep or eat, your energy used to be topped up to the maximum, in this example I'll use 500, since it's an easy round number to work with.

Now, getting back to the problem at hand, we currently have 300 energy, let's eat some food, energy is no longer topped off to the maximum, that being 500 in our example, it is now 400, so let us eat some more food, now the energy is finally at 500.

Is this what is meant to happen?

The same thing happens with time.

I won't use examples because you can just use my explanation above for time.

In other words, they're no longer automatically topped up to the max, to do that, you'll need to hibernate, and hibernation takes time.

Now, I do have a small suggestion, if you're broke, you're pretty much screwed when it comes to healing people.

Could we have a way to heal someone, even if it'll take much longer to do so, like the hibernation?

Because if you've got no gold and all your people somehow end up in hospital, and let's face it, with some of these disasters I've run into so far a a few of my people have ended up in hospital, and the only way to heal them is to pay up.

Hello
It is not a bug.

When you eat it does not affect the time to work and vice versa, for sleeping.

Som

Some people have massive amounts of gold so making the game
easier is not the current direction.

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Before this last update, when I had my workers either eat or sleep, it didn't matter which, their time of five minutes, and maximum number of energy of 250 were both topped off to the maximum that I had. This isn't the case anymore.

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hello John. I just did as you suggested for the eating and sleeping and, for the first time, my people now show 608 for energy and five minutes for work time. Thank you so much for clarifying this whole thing for me. Now I can finally move on with the game. Appreciate you.

By leah on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

every time the monster comes it destroys all of my buildings So there’s nothing I can do to make that not happen?

By privatetai on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Does anyone know what item/building adds to eat bonus? My eat has bonus of 450 but I'm not sure how to add to it.

Hello,
I am excited to try this game and I have a question. Could characters in the game be wizards and learn how to cast magic spells?
One question for the weapons are staffs Optional?
The reason why I am asking these questions because I’ve been trying to find a game for iOS where I could learn magic and cast spells.
Hope you all have a great day.
Thank you.
Best,
Angel PS if the characters abilities and weapons that I mentioned are not in the game at the moment this would be my suggestion.

There are two bugs I found in this latest version. The animal farm still appears to not be giving the bonuses when you build more levels. The speed bonus also doesn't work if you build shoes. I have a bit of an ongoing bug right now too. I completed the healer job and now I can't do anything in the game. It just sits there and makes a noise at me every 5 minutes or so and doesn't do anything else. Please fix this. I had like 10000 sheds. :)

Hello

Today I updated new version.
Glass and library,
I can not use long push button for explain for what need.

By John from Wood… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hello All
I have spent all week on improving the look of the game.
I know this is not of prime importance for us B+VI types but it is for the sighted users
who are giving low ratings in the app store due to the poor layout.

The version number indicates a shift in development, the main phase now is on adding to the game.
Most of the bugs are out and the code has improved to make tracking down the remaining ones easier.

I am off on holiday for 2 weeks so the updates are going to have to wait for a while.
I will be reading all feedback as ever.

Thank you all for your support and feedback it means a lot
to know people are enjoying the game.

By Terrence van E… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I've found the option in the shop for personalizing people, but I've heard you're supposed to be able to rename them. On both my 5S and 6S, I can't find a way to do that. I can change their gender, I can change their pics, but not their names. Does this only work in 7 or higher?
Also, a curious question. As someone with partial sight, I find it interesting to look at the layout on things. I've noticed that in the inventory screen, for example, the words "Sell 1" show up big and bold, but the item you're selling doesn't show up at all. Is this a bug, a fluke with my phones, or an intentional challenge for sighted players? Lol!

By Cliff on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Hi! Sorry about having to complain about the rubber bug again!
But I still can't get it to work, and on the resources screen, rubber is still listed among the items that needs resources to make, even though my storage is filled to the brim with rubber trees and all the other stuff I'm supposed to need to make rubber.
I saw John wrote further up here that I probably need to restart the game to get it to work.
But I'm sorry to tell you that there's absolutely no way I'm restarting the game AGAIN in the near future, after again getting this far in the game and having so much progress.
If the option now is to restart the game once more to be able to make rubber, I'm afraid I will rather lay off the game for a while until the last showstoppers of bugs are really ironed out. I will probably delete the game now, and return to it and reinstall it some time in the future.
I'm a bit baffled that I seem to be the only one stuck with not being able to make rubber. And at a certain point in the game, you really wont make it much further without rubber.
So I'm taking a break now, and will probably return to the game in a couple of months, when it's more safe to assume that I wont have to restart every time I've spent some good amount of time in the game.
Looking forwards to when the game is more relyable, cause this game is really a lot of fun! :)
Keep up the good work! :)

By Sabrina on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I had issues weith the rubber too. I had everything to make rubber, and if I remember I would need knife and bowl and rubber tree and I had everything to make rubber but still it will not let me make rubber. I double tap and hold on the rubber and it tells me how to make rubber and it does not say not in stock but just says the ingridients. So I cannot make rubber. I wanted to make a bike. Now I have restarted the game to see if I can make rubber soon. Just have to do lots of things over but it is okay. So will keep you updated about the rubber.

I am really enjoying learning and playing the game! I have a couple of questions that hopefully someone can help me with.
First, I have a disaster that I have not found a fix for yet. The disaster says, the Financial market will fall in 10 moves.
Is there anythingthat I can do to prevent this?

Second, does anyone understand how quest work?

Thanks

By privatetai on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

To recover from financial disaster, build more shops and use the trader task for your people if they ahve the energy for it.

To do quests, go to quest screen, double tap one to accept it, then go do what it wants you to do- sell blocks, stones, etc, after you sell the goods, just go back to quest screen and it'll complete it for you.

My partner is trying to make wine with the grapes her people have gathered, but the game still says she needs grapes to make it. Is this a bug or are we missing something? Thanks!

By privatetai on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

Does anyone know what pub does? It doesn't say what function it serves. It's hard to build though, I hope it'll be worth it.

By Sabrina on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

What is the healer task for? I assume it doesn't heal the current character but is this used for when people are in hospital or is it for people who have low energy or time?

By Terrence van E… on Thursday, September 27, 2018 - 00:33

I have to say, this is the first game our two-person household has had running on *THREE* different phones because no one wants to put the game down to make a phone call, which is usually to our other friend who got us addicted in the first place. LOL! We're both on the edges of our seats to see what future updates will bringThere's afew bugs we are still noticing still; I'm bringing them up here in case they hadn't been brought up yet:1. The farms don't seem to reflect the fact that they have actually produced anything when viewed in the task screen. They just say, "crop farm stock 0," or "animal farm stock 0," but when you look in the inventory screen the products show up. It can be a little awkward when trying to decide whethe to send someone to the farm or not.2. "Recruit person for x gold. Tribe size is y" reports one less person than the tribe actually has. It's easy enough to work around if you know it does it, but it'd be great to have the trib size accurately reflected.3. When making food on the food screen, the stock for the created food products doesn't update after you finish making something. (e.ong. "make 1 cooked meat" continues to show however many cooked meat there were when the food screen was initially opened. Thanks for creating an awesome game that has succeeded in keeping our crazy A.D.D. household so thoroughly engaged, a feat which is *N* easy, believe me!
