iOS and iPadOS Gaming

Calling all Blind gamers. I am working with a game production company to develop a game similar to Audio Defence. I guess I got tired of waiting around for someone else to do it. My game is called The Circus Masters Revenge. You guessed it. Instead of zombies coming at you. You will have 23 different kinds of circus performers that are trying to attack you. This game is still in the early stages of development. My first time attempting something like this so I am being very very picky. I don’t care if the blind community wants to play this game or not. I want to play it because I am a blind gamer that misses this type of game. I have to admit that when Somethin Else left iOS. I was really upset. I never even got to play the night jar. They definitely were ahead of their time as far as game play goes. Atleast on a mobile platform. Nobody since has even come close. This is where I want to succeed. Not just for all the blind gamers out there but for me. If you are interested in a game like this. Let me know in a comment. The more gamers interested in a game like this will help my game producers understand how important this game will be to us. I even got Marty from the blindfold series interested in this game. He is helping me understand the business side of this adventure. So when this game is developed and you enjoy it make sure you thank him for helping me out with the process. I will keep everyone updated on the progress right here. Thanks for your time. I will try my best not to let you down.

Not yet. I think you will have a surprise and your inbox in the middle of next week. Please be patient.

By garnit on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

I know you are doing your very best to fix the problem, and there is no need to rush. At least not that I can see. I can’t wait to test this game, but I can be patient for as long as it takes. By the way, I just went back and read through a lot of these comments, since I didn’t find this form until December. Very impressed with how much you’ve gone through, and how much you’ve done to make this game a great one. Also, I’m sad I came as late to the party as I did, or I would have donated to the kick starter. Just so you know.

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Thank you very much. As a first time game developer I wanted to share the process with everyone so you would understand what it takes to develop a video game. I have played the new updated version of CMR. It is awesome. It has been an awesome opportunity to develop this game for everyone. J

By roman on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

I can be pation also. I am waiting for this game. do not worry. I know it could take some time.

By Apprentice Of Odin on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Would it be possible for me to test this game?

By Andrew Adolphson on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Hi,

Sorry I am a little late to the party, but I am wondering if you are still doing beta testing for CMR? If so, I would love to try out the game! My emaill is adolphson123@gmail.com

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Sorry everyone. The test list is full for second round of testing. We decided that the list should be shorter this time because out of 25 people for the first round. There was only nine people who gave us constructive feedback. Actually they were the only ones that gave us any feedback at all. So we decided to keep it short this time. Don’t worry. The sooner we get through this process, the sooner we can launch the game. It will be worth the wait.

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

I kind of have a funny story for everyone. I have a sighted friend who is terribly frightened by any form of clown. I let her play the updated version of CMR. After 10 minutes of killing clowns she said, ( I ain’t afraid of them damn clowns no more)! I thought that was the funniest thing ever. That’s some good therapy I guess. Ha ha

I am just wondering if someone could do a play through of the game? I know Jessie Anderson did a little sneak peek

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

What exactly are you wanting to get from a play through? Are you wanting to see the quality of the game? Jessie‘s sneak peek, was just that. a sneek peek. What I have in my hands right now blows it out of the water 10,000 times. Everyone wants to compare CMR to Audio Defence . As a person who loveD that game. That may be my fault. I say, As a person who has love for that game. CMR is way better. Can I prove the height? Yes I can. Should I? I don’t have to. If I am smart. I will not give you a Christmas present and let you know what it is before you open it. Do you really want me to ruin it for you? Ask yourself. Just trust a blind person who enjoys games like you, and enjoy this adventure with me. I will bring you on this adventure with me. I did not do this for me. I did this for us. You can take that to the freaking bank

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Does everyone want to know why I even started this project? I hope so. And there wouldn’ be this much activity on it if everyone wasn’t as interested in it as I am. If you don’t already know. I am blind just like everyone else. I’m sorry. Was that a stereotype? Ha ha jerks! Some people are completely blind. Some people are partial. Blind individuals experience life in different ways. Just like everyone else. I am completely blind. I miss entertainment like somethin else brought to us. When they took their applications off the store and robbed me Of my $40 I invested to their games. I have to say, it kind of pissed me off and broke my heart . I waited, I waited, I waited. Nobody ever came close. Here is the hype, ladies and gentlemen. Mental vision is bringing back games like audio defense! Did I stutter?

By roman on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

You are doing a great job by bringing back a game like this. I am a desperate blind gamer who wants to play games like scited people.
I used to play games with my scited friends, and when I herd about audio games, it was life changer for me. so I would like to thenk you that some one is doing something for change .

By Erick on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

I really support you on this. I really enjoy playing audio games that are inclusive and accessible for the blind community, and that is what I'm standing up for, standing up for the rights of blind people all across the world. I might publish my journal right here. Hopefully, people will understand all of us. And hopefully we can have an inclusive and accessible revolution. We all shall be free!!

By Joel on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

So one day I was just sitting there minding my own business when one of my friends asked how I use my phone. I proceeded to show him voiceover, then he asked if I played games. I said yes, and he did not believe me. He asked how it was possible for a person without sight to play games. I quickly started playing feer and then he believed me. He asked if he could play too, since he thought it looked interesting. I gave him a pair of headphones to use, but he decided not to use them. He told me that he could do it by looking at it. I told him it was not a good idea, but he still played that way anyway. Whenever he ran he could barely see. As soon as a zombie showed up he couldn’t dodge it because he couldn’t see it. He got killed instantly because he did not want to listen to the audio. I laughed at him and said that he should’ve played with headphones. He ran off after that. After he ran off he sent me a text saying that he couldn’t believe a blind person could Play a game better than a sighted person like him.

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Before I lost my vision, I didn’t know a visually impaired person would even want to play video games if they could somehow. Now that I know that we can. I want to use my mental vision to create the best games for our community. There are a lot of people who are hungry for entertainment. Don’t worry. Mental vision will feed you. Ha ha

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

2nd round of testing starts soon. There is going to be some surprises for everyone. If you have play the first round of testing, make sure you test everything to find The surprises. Enjoy, my friends!

By Erick on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Okay, I'll just play this star wars game while I wait. But very excited because this game is also getting updates. Oh man I can't weight to see what is in store for us. You've made my day. Someone else has made my day as well, on audiogames.net. We as a blind community need to rise up and fight for freedom. Anyone ever heard of the holman prize? I encourage every blind citizen to enter. I didn't enter, however I will in the future. But, mental vision, it is time. It is time to fight for inclusivity and accessibility. One more thing. Joseph you have set me on the path to inclusivity and accessibility design, and you have inspired me so much through your work. Through some of your book. This is just amazing. I thank you Joseph for all of the work you have done for us. Without you, I don't know what I would be doing now. Since I'm a part of mental vision, I will do my best to stay a part of it, while testing other people's projects. Keep it up. Do it for you, and us. Spread the word guys. Post it on ever single sight you can, about this game.

By Cornettoking on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Although it sucks that I can't be part of round two of testing, I look Forward to the release.

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Cornettoking

Julian. As soon as testing is completed and we get feedback, we’re going to try to launch in the App Store. I can’t make any promises but, we are shooting for late April early May. When it comes to development you never know what’s going to come up. Keep your fingers crossed.

By mority on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Hi.
@419, which starwars game do you actually mean? I am curious.

Regarrding the game, I am also interested for the games release and if the developer can keep up with his promis of producing an equal gaming experience as with audio defence.
I am a bit disapointed that even though I applyed for first round testing and was told that I would receive further notification when a new round of testing starts, I never received such a notification and was never contacted again asking if I still would be up for testing, even though this was said in the mail when I not made the first round testing team.

I’m sorry if you were not invited for the second round of testing. You had just as much opportunity as everyone else. If you would have followed my blog, you would have known. I posted my blog Web address on this forum last year. So, I guess you are as much to blame as myself. Sorry I forgot about you and if your feelings are hurt. Almost everyone from the first round loved CMR, and yes CMR is amazing! The hype is real my friend. When it is released, I hope you enjoy it as much as everyone else has. I am very impressed with what we have created for our community. I think you will be too.

By Erick on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

Not to be off-topic, but the Star Wars game I am playing right now as well as CMR is called clash of light sabers. It’s a game that’s constantly being updated, and it’s on forum.audiogames.net
Platform, windows.

By Joseppie on Saturday, February 23, 2019 - 00:05

It seems as Though, some people don’t understand what horizontal mode represents. Horizontal mode is portrait mode, that you can hold your device at 0 degrees to Ninety degrees.. That means flat to Vertical. Landscape mode is when you hold your device with the home button to the left or to the right. Horizontal mode the home button is facing you and the speaker for your ear is facing away from you. I hope that clears it up for everyone. Happy hunting.

By Hunter on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

How can I master this level? That's to impossible!

By Igna Triay on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Hunter

impossible? no. Its easy to pass it ifyour paying atention. try using melee if enemies get too close. but its not impossible. keep your ears open and determine which enemy is closest to know which to kill first, again, keep your ears open and use melee if needed, no one is forcing you to use the gun...

By Hunter on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Igna Triay

Yes, I understand this point allready, but if this burning to close to me and if I kill him with my millee weapon, then I explode with him.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Hunter

The only hint I’m going to give you is to play stage six over again. The level with the hound clowns will tell you exactly what to do on stage eight. Just listen and pay attention to the instructions.

By Hunter on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Joseppie

But what can I do with this burning enemies? If I killed one of them, I die with him too.

By Igna Triay on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

just keep trying

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Hunter

I’m not going to tell you how to pass level eight. You will have to figure it out on your own. I gave you a hint. You are on your own. Sorry.

By Igna Triay on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

you have you'll get it

By roman on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

This game is great! but the eighth level is so hard.
I have a one suggestion that add a sound that indicates that an animi is closer.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Part of the fun of games in general is figuring out how to beat a level that is challenging. If I made it easy it would take away the fun. Keep playing and you will figure it out.

By Joseph on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Ok, so I'm curious. Does this game have an audio engine similar to that of the somethin else games? I've not been able to check out any audio demos, so figured the best thing for me to do would be to ask.

By Hunter on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Joseph

I miss the swipe mode in this game. Because Audio Defence had this mode and if you want to use your Mellee weapon you must shake the Device.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Hunter

I apologize slaughter. It might take some getting use to. most people are not seeming to have as many issues with game functionality and controls. I apologize for not making it easier for you. This is just a test version You should send your feedback the correct way. Thanks buddy.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Wow. It sure is quiet around here. I hope that’s a good thing. Ha ha

By Mitchell on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

My guess as to why it was quiet was because you asked for feedback through Testflight rather than on the site. I can understand why you would want it through Testflight, but I think that may have a part in why this topic became dormant.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

In reply to by Mitchell

Testers no they can send me an email to mentalvision.info@gmail.com if, they were having issues or wanted to give feedback. I do respond quickly two emails. I just didn’t want them to discuss gameplay on the site.

By Mitchell on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

I know you stated a while back that the game was going to be free, but have plans changed? I would not be opposed to paying $1.99 or more for this game, if the sneak peek that I've seen on Jesse Anderson's channel is any indication of quality.

By Evermore2020 on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

I love this game, the music sounds like a real circu. I also love all of the sounds in this game.

By DrummerGuy on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

CMR. is just awesome! Sounds are great. The music is great. You guys will absolutely enjoy this great game. I will definitely buy it even if it were to cost $20 or more. Honestly, I think five dollars would be too cheap. I assume that pricing is one of the main reasons why Something Else failed. They sold their games too cheap and that's why the Company could not make enough money from their work.
I don't know what the cost of the game will be but whatever it is, I am in because it is worth it.
Thank you, Joe and Mental Vision.

By Zachary on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Could someone please post a link to the trailer again? I really don't feel like going through 400 posts just to find this. Thanks.

By ming on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

I don't mind it will be a paid app/ games.
you guys are working very hard to make this game.
and this game should be up and running forever.
not just a few years and then fading out.
we are so sad that we were losing many great games from time to time.
keep up the good work.
and I hope it will be release on the apps store soon.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Trailer. We trashed the last trailer because we have been working on a new one in preparation for release.
Release date. We don’t have a definite launch date just yet. We are still working on this project and will not launch until chapter 2 is completed. Game testing is still going on for a little while and we are negotiating the cost for chapter 2.
The CMR team and I are very excited or what we are able to develop. Believe me. It is getting very interesting. When you have seven or eight people who have very creative minds coming together and sharing ideas. I think everyone will be very very surprised once we launch.
Cost. Yes, this will be a paid application. It will not be $20. It will not be $10. We are going to try to price it at five dollars. There will be in at purchases for those who want to upgrade and use the weapons right away. Or you can figure out how to unlock the endless mode and earn coins to purchase weapons and power ups. It will be worth it if you are as hungry for entertainment as most of us are. I have put a lot of time and money into this project. If I’m not able to re coop funding with CMR, I won’t be able to create any more games for our community. That will be pretty sad.
Thank you everyone for the positive comments. I know you are very excited for CMR to be released. I am as well. I have a feeling everyone will be very impressed with what we are able to come up with. Happy hunting everyone.

Who was the last person to comment on the Www.wordpress.com website for Mental Vision Games? Send me an email with the answer at mentalvision.info@gmail.com

Nothing lasts forever.

Depending on any changes apple makes can determin if your app will have to be patched or sometimes, re-written from the ground up.

With the changes apple is making so apps wil eventually be able to run on mac.

The idea is, with a bit of tweaking, their apps will be able to run on mac, as well as iOS.

If they can pull this one off, the mac will soon have a whole slew of games.

By Joseppie on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

I am sharing my idea because I don’t think I will ever be able to develop this idea. It is definitely something that our community needs. Here you go.
Blind Suede Shoes

Accessible game idea to simulate mobility exercises using the gyroscope and accelerometer with 3-D immersive audio. Gamer will hold device in Kane hand at normal hip level where normally held. Moving the phone left and right in a tap tap pattern. When touching the phone screen will maneuver avatar forward. Gyroscope will be used to maneuver and change direction. left or right or to turn around 180 degrees. when gamer stops touching the smart screen. The avatar will stop moving. This simulation should have excellent sound quality so it may be used to teach visually impaired students mobility exercises. It could also be used to boost confidence before allowing students real life exercise. Different scenarios such as crossing busy intersections. Walking in a mall environment. Walking through an airport. Walking through some really neat places such as beaches or parks. This application could also be helpful and training decided community who maybe parents or legal guardians of a visually impaired student. If done right the simulation will be realistic enough so if a sighted person is blindfolded they will experience the same issues that a visually impaired person experiences day today

By Maranatà on Saturday, March 23, 2019 - 00:05

Hello! Thank you so much for the game you are preparing for us, I can not wait to buy it! I recommend however, do not forget to include the Italian language otherwise we will not be able to fully enjoy all the potentials of the game. I would suggest the 4 main languages: English, Italian, French and Spanish. Then you will judge if it will be possible to include other languages as well. However, I think that more languages will be there and the game will be perfect.

I have been fighting myself for a long time about doing a YouTube blog post for mental vision. Here is number one.
