[Closed] Coming soon - The Circus Masters Revenge

iOS and iPadOS Gaming

Calling all Blind gamers. I am working with a game production company to develop a game similar to Audio Defence. I guess I got tired of waiting around for someone else to do it. My game is called The Circus Masters Revenge. You guessed it. Instead of zombies coming at you. You will have 23 different kinds of circus performers that are trying to attack you. This game is still in the early stages of development. My first time attempting something like this so I am being very very picky. I don’t care if the blind community wants to play this game or not. I want to play it because I am a blind gamer that misses this type of game. I have to admit that when Somethin Else left iOS. I was really upset. I never even got to play the night jar. They definitely were ahead of their time as far as game play goes. Atleast on a mobile platform. Nobody since has even come close. This is where I want to succeed. Not just for all the blind gamers out there but for me. If you are interested in a game like this. Let me know in a comment. The more gamers interested in a game like this will help my game producers understand how important this game will be to us. I even got Marty from the blindfold series interested in this game. He is helping me understand the business side of this adventure. So when this game is developed and you enjoy it make sure you thank him for helping me out with the process. I will keep everyone updated on the progress right here. Thanks for your time. I will try my best not to let you down.

I beta tested the first round of this game and died on the 8th level, I think.

TO be fair, I couldn't use the shop then so perhaps I can buy new weapons but it will be a point and shoot kind of game from what I understand when playing the beta.

Some people like that,, some don't and that's fine.

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I couldn’t access the shop either when I was beta testing. I’m pretty sure their’s going to be new weapons and not just guns.

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I decided to leave most of the things locked during game testing. And this way, testers would be able to give feedback on gameplay and functionality. Plus, there will be a sense of newness when you played again for the first time. Hope that makes sense. Everyone did a fantastic job helping us create an awesome game. Thank you everyone.

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Is the game still releasing on the 20th as planned?

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

In reply to by Joel

That was the plan. We seem to have some audio snags that need to be fixed. Hopefully we will be submitting to Apple on Friday. I will let you know when I know. Thanks advance for your patience

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

When you say by Friday do you mean tomorrow or next Friday?

By KE7ZUM on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I would just keep an eye on the thread. I too am interested, mainly so I can do a demo on it.

By Joseph on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

if I can, I'll try to get the game when it comes out. We'll see how good it is. People have saidthat they enjoy it, but that's only an opinion. I'll have to see for myself if I enjoy it.

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Can you put your podcast on Apple podcasts? It’s much easier to use than the anchor website and app.

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Joseph. I do hope you enjoy it as much as other people have. Everyone should have their very own experience with it that will be unique.
Joel. I thought the mental vision show podcast was on Apple. I will have to check and see. I know it is on Spotify. I will find out and let you know.
Ming. I am glad that you are still excited my friend. I am sure it will meet your expectations.
Others. As soon as we submit to Apple, I will post on here to let everyone know like I have been since we started the project. That is mainly the reason why we have over 500 comments on this form. I have been trying to share the process with everyone to make this process easier for other ones to follow if someone should wish to take on their own project. Being transparent during development, is the only way a developer like Dave from my true sound and myself can inspire other interested people to become developers themselves. At least, everyone will understand what it takes to put a game project together.

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I can’t wait! I hope it’s out by sunday

By Igna Triay on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

We're a little behind skedule. The game should be on the appstore thorsday or round that time, asuming we don't run into any more snags... hopefully not... We've run into some final snags... but hopefully, we'll fix them quickly

By Erick on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I don't care about the negative people here, I will still be waiting. I don't care how long it takes, even if it takes years, I will still be waiting.

Very excited.

By Igna Triay on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

same here

By Erick on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

So it is going to be released next Thursday?

I hope so because if not then, not sure.

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Thank you igna. As he mentioned, our team is a little behind schedule. During finalization, there were a few issues. When they were able to fix one problem, another one would pop up. They will be working through the weekend to get these matters perfected. As soon as we submit to Apple, I will post it here. Sorry for the inconvenience. I know everyone is extremely excited to get their hands on this game. I guess this is just how things work sometimes. Live and learn, right? I know the circus master is eager to kick some butt. Ha ha

Hi!
From what I've gathered about this community, also based on the activity on other platforms: Never set a release date you cannot absolutely reach. The negative effects are:
1. You make indie developers appear unprofessional. People will use that as an argument for the statement that only the large mainstream development studios are reliable.
2. You will be bashed by those unfortunate creatures among us whose entire life consists of waiting for the next toy.
3. You will put in long hours, and sacrifice weekends, and, as a direct result, introduce bugs, typos, and inconsistencies, which, again, will make you look unprofessional.
4. You will find yourself making excuses, and these will set people's expectations even higher. For example, when you claim it took longer due to extensive testing, customers will be much less tolerant of the occasional glitch, stating that if they had to wait so long, they can expect a polished result.
All of this adds up to a lot of pressure on your shoulders.
Why not just announce that there's something in the works and it will be released when you think it's ready to ship?
I can tell you why. The deeper reason is that you feel you need some pressure to remain motivated. You think that when you set a release date for yourself, it will magically provide you with the drive it takes to reach it, and that without a release date and its accompanying adrenaline you wouldn't perform at your best. Let me tell you from personal experience: This will work for a few days, or even months, but it's like putting constant stress on a spring. If that old string breaks, you'll lose that drive forever. It happened to me. It's called chronic fatigue, and it's not amusing because your engine will be all revved up but without a working translation, none of that energy will ever go into the wheels.
To those of you waiting for this game: I'm sure you will find in yourselves the maturity to be patient. My intuition tells me there's a very good game in the works here, but it'll be some months until it can be released. Let's all just accept this fact and walk this path in dignity.
Sorry for the long post, but I felt I had to step in before the bad stuff happens.
Take care,
Perry

By Igna Triay on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

At last poster... well said. Just keep an eye out. The game will be releaced soon!!!

Thank you very much for the advice Mr. Perry. I understand where you are coming from. I really do appreciate it The only excuse I have for informing everyone about a release is to be as transparent with the process as I can. This being my very first game as a developer I will make mistakes. I will learn from those mistakes and get better with releasing information. I am glad that you understand what I am going through. And I respect that. Have a good weekend.

By Nikola Jovic on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I wonder which negative, extremely critic people and people who are bashing developers you are talking about? Nobody, and I mean literally nobody insulted the dev in any way. This is a forum, and you are allowed to have your opinion, even if it is negative. I'm literally skipping every comment that says be grateful. For what? Something that's not even out yet and when it's out, I will pay my money to play it. There's nothing wrong with that, for all we know it might be the best game out there, but equally there's nothing wrong with not being excited about it and posting your opinion. Get real, other forums have way more negativity. People said the right thing which is that not everybody is ready to listen to a podcast just to hear an answer to a question, and you call that negative? That's called having an opinion.

By DrummerGuy on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

When somebody says: "jump" they do jump. LOL. Works like a charm. LOL.

By HarmonicaPlayer on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

By ming on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

By Khalfan Bin Dhaher on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Hello Joseppie.
May I know where can I get the game from?
I miss such games and I'm really curious to play it on my iOS device and perhaps record a podcast.
Please send me an invitation link to beta test this app as well.
My email is: khalfan.bindhaher@gmail.com.

I could while away the hours
Conferrin' with the flowers
Consultin' with the rain
And my head I'd be a scratchin'
While my thoughts are busy hatchin'
If I only had a brain

I’m sorry but, beta test has been over for a few months now. CMR will be released very soon on the App Store. Sorry that you missed out on testing.

By Khalfan Bin Dhaher on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Not a problem. When it will be available on the AppStore?

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I will post on here when it is released and give the link to it.

By Perry Simm on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Hi Joseppie!
So, am I understanding correctly that the game has been submitted to Apple and is undergoing their review process as we speak?
Cheers Perry

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

As Post 83 said, has it been submitted to Apple?

By Erick on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

The podcast yes, but the app, I don't think so.

By Igna Triay on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

the podcast was submited to apple... the app hasn't been submited yet, but it will be soon

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Here it is. Be real. Is official. It is coming. If you didn’t believe. Shame on you.
Hello everyone. I especially wanted to welcome the new arrivals who have joined my blog. Bad news. Mental Vision Word press blog is going to be inactive from now on. Very soon, Mental Vision Will have their own website. It is under construction as of now. That means no more apple forum updates. No more word press blogs. My website will be a one stop shop. At least, I hope so.

Game testing finalization from the development team and myself has been completed. As far as I know, we have submitted to Apple this morning. Thank God too. I am wore out and need a vacation. 17 months is a long time. Especially, when you are on an 11hour different time zone from your team. Ha ha. I guess they are right. Work hard and play hard. I forget how it feels to play hard. Don't worry. I am sure it won't take me long to remember how to have fun. And don't worry about development for a CMR. I will not let you down because if I do I would be letting myself down. We are all handy capables. We should all support each other if we are helping our community.

I know there are going to be negative comments about my game. I don't care. I did not create this for myself. This is something that a lot of us wanted. We waited and waited as I said before. Nobody came along. I stepped up and put my money on the line. I thought I was making something we all wanted. So, if you are a negative person keep your mouth shut. Nobody wants to hear your crap. Be proud in our community, or leave it. The way I see it. You can be Handy Capable or you can be handicapped. If you think you can do better. Put your money where your mouth is. Send me an email and I will help you figure it out. Otherwise, shut your damn mouth. Stop making our community suffer. Have'nt we suffered enough? Because of you who are negative, no developer wants to create for our community. Stop being jackass. Be proud of yourself and do something to help the community. Otherwise hide under a rock and keep your mouth shut!!! Thank you to everyone who is on board with Mental Vision Games. I appreciate it.

By DMNagel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I was hoping that the game would get released on my birthday. It's good to know that at least the game has been submitted to Apple on my birthday.

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Mental Vision and the Handy Capables wish you the best of birthdays. At least something special happen right? Enjoy it my friend

By DMNagel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Will do and good luck with your game.

By ming on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

hi!
anyone know that if someone submit an app to apple. how long does the process take untill it released?

By Joseppie on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

It could take one day, it could take a week. It is up to Apple. Hopefully it won’t be that long. Hang in there and be patient. It is not in my hands anymore.

By MaranatĂ  on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Long last! It's wonderful news, we all expected it. I'm sure it will be a wonderful game, you have worked a lot to create it and it will be beautiful. Thank you so much for the hard work you've done for us! But remember the suggestion I recently wrote to you here. In order to fully enjoy all the potential of the game, it must be translated into the main languages in addition to English: French, Italian, Spanish and German. I hope I'm not wrong, if so, I apologize, my friend! But there should be plugins that translate everything automatically, so it should be a quick or easy job. I am also writing in Italian and to post this in the forum I will have it translated by the GoogleTraductor application. Even if the translation is not exactly perfect, the important thing is that you understand what you want to say. Quite right? Anyway thanks again for everything. one last thing. Could you paste a manual here on how to play with the main commands? Thanks brother and good rest! Have fun all of us!

By Khalfan Bin Dhaher on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I got the podcast link from hear, but I'm not sure which podcast to play. What's the title of the podcast?

By Joseph on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Onc'e it's released, if I can get this game, I'll try to do so. i liked audio defence for it's point-and-shoot style of play, so if this has a similar style of play I should enjoy it. Of course audio defence had its own challenges about it, and so will this. so it shouldbe a good overall title.

By Joel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

I will buy the game as soon as it comes out

By DrummerGuy on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Just be patient, guys. Good things come to those who wait. The game is awesome. I am sure you will enjoy many hours of playing. I had a lot of fun playing and even though I got my butt kicked, it was challenging and great. LOL.

By garnit on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

600 comments, wow!2

By Karok on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

the game itself is easy to complete, the speech cannot be interupted etc. honestly whilst i applaud the efforts, when i tested it, i wasn’t blown away.

By David Standen on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

Thank you for posting re the submission to Apple. The game will be worth it, in my opinion. As soon as I find out the game is released, I'll be grabbing it.

By DMNagel on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 - 04:29

All I care about is that I have a good experience regardless of how easy or hard it is. Besides, your hard and your easy may not be my hard and my easy.
