Calling all Blind gamers. I am working with a game production company to develop a game similar to Audio Defence. I guess I got tired of waiting around for someone else to do it. My game is called The Circus Masters Revenge. You guessed it. Instead of zombies coming at you. You will have 23 different kinds of circus performers that are trying to attack you. This game is still in the early stages of development. My first time attempting something like this so I am being very very picky. I don’t care if the blind community wants to play this game or not. I want to play it because I am a blind gamer that misses this type of game. I have to admit that when Somethin Else left iOS. I was really upset. I never even got to play the night jar. They definitely were ahead of their time as far as game play goes. Atleast on a mobile platform. Nobody since has even come close. This is where I want to succeed. Not just for all the blind gamers out there but for me. If you are interested in a game like this. Let me know in a comment. The more gamers interested in a game like this will help my game producers understand how important this game will be to us. I even got Marty from the blindfold series interested in this game. He is helping me understand the business side of this adventure. So when this game is developed and you enjoy it make sure you thank him for helping me out with the process. I will keep everyone updated on the progress right here. Thanks for your time. I will try my best not to let you down.

Hello Mohammed. I am a brand new developer and I’m putting my own money into something. I am looking for a game interest. After something else left us dry I decideed to do this on my own. Yes I am frustrated sometimes and I don’t mean to be unprofessional but yes I am trusting. It seems like there’s not very many people in their visual impaired community hearing impaired community and mobility impaired community that want to be entertained. Why do I have to be the face? Why can’t you show your respect and your need and support? I can’t do this all by myself to please everyone. I can help but I need back up. Do we not want entertainment or product like everyone else? Aren’t you tired of being second hand shelf third shelf last in line? Help me prove to the world that we exist and we can do it. There is a market for this. help me so It is not As difficult Help me prove it to the world that we belong here just like them

This is amazing! But wait, the death sound is missing, well, I should say 2sounds, death sound and then the body hitting the ground, or something. But otherwise great sound!! The gun might need to be a bit more good quality but it's good.

By Muhammad Saidinas on Monday, July 23, 2018 - 00:36

yes I know, I am sorry , I just remind you because I care about the future of your project.
I am also excited for this game because I haven't play audio defence before.
I hope it will be a success.
now, time for some Sneak peeking :)

I'm trying to get some of my friends so they can donate to the kickstarter if they have enough money. I would donate $10, but that wouldn't be enough, like $9000 would be nice right now. But I don't have that much. I would even donate $1000 to you!!

By Paul on Monday, July 23, 2018 - 00:36

First of all, never rely on the blind community in general to help you financially. It is naive to think most of the blind community will bother putting their hands into their pockets if it can be avoided. Two traits seem to dominate the blind community, self-entitlement and poor money management skills, assuming they have any money to manage in the first place.

Second, it is unwise to give your game away. It's a good idea to offer a free trial, but you shouldn't allow unlimited play for free if you hope to recoop your investment. But, if you don't mind flushing your money down the toilet, by all means, allow unlimited free gameplay. I strongly believe the biggest mistake Something Else made was to practically give their games away, the games were worth a hell of a lot more than they charged for them.

Third, I'll reiterate what another poster said by pointing out that if you want people to trust you with their money, you must project confidence, and that isn't done by expressing frustration or disappointment. Being a new developer is no excuse for unprofessional behavior, despite what other posters think. A first time developer can be excused for producing a less than steller initial product, but not for acting like a petulant child when things don't go the way they hope.

All that said, should the game actually make it to market, I will of course consider purchasing it, but I will not even briefly entertain the idea of backing a project led by someone who displays such a lack of confidence and blames their unprofessional behavior on being a first time developer.

I just donated $100, but I don't think that is enough yet.

Joseppie, good luck with getting your game up and running, I know you can do it!!

BUT my post is in response to Paul’s ridiculous post.
Paul, who exactly are these blind people you refer to as poor money managers and self-entitled individuals? None of the blind people I know have these traits you say they seem to be dominated by. And you think you’re going to get away with it by stating “seem” to dominate!
Let me help you out with your ignorance: Next time you think it’s okay to make a generalization or outright rude comment/s about a group of people, let alone those who cannot see, why don’t you keep your big mouth shut, think twice, and maybe not post at all or have somebody look over your posts before you submit them!!! That was outright rude!

By Joseppie on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 00:36

Yes it is true circus masters revenge kick starter has failed. Not going to let it kick my ass or hours. Just because nobody understands how important entertainment is to us the handy capables. I am going to fight even harder now to make sure this game is the best game it ever can be. Thank you all for believing. You all know who you are and what I am fighting for. Much love.

By Paul on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 00:36

lol ValrunsCali, you're not the first to consider how I express myself as rudeness, and you sure as hell won't be the last.

Like you, I don't personally know the kind of people I refered to, but I know of them through people I trust. Just because you don't know about something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

I can point to Something Else's failure to fully fund its Audio Defence game and a recent request by another user on here for a free monopoly game as evidence for my claim that many members of the blind community are tight fisted. For evidence of poor money management skills, I'm sure, with some effort, you could find more than one or two go fund me campaigns created by blind people who need to pay bills or buy food, but were somehow able to afford the recent purchase of an iOS device or an expensive Aira subscription. As for self-entitlement? I can point to the numerous suggestions or demands made that Apple reject all inaccessible apps, regardless of how difficult it might be to implement good accessibility.

Now, for some nitpicking. My qualification was important because my information is based on my perception, the perceptions of those I know, and opinions expressed by prominant members of the blind community, not an attempt to escape criticism, as you so ineloquently suggest. There's a difference between what "seems" to be true and what "is" true. I qualified my statement with "seems" because unlike a lot of people, I wasn't prepared to present my opinion as absolute truth. Indeed, it's entirely possible that most blind people are good money managers and aren't self-entitled, but it's equally possible that the opposite is true. It's impossible to know with absolute certainty which is true, but the perceptions of myself, and others I know, lean toward the latter.

By Joseppie on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 00:36

Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. I am blind. I am not financially irresponsible. I started my own gaming develop meant company just this year. This is new for me and exciting. If you have to start at the bottom that is fine. At least I started somewhere. Some people don’t utilize their gifts for the right reasons. I believe that is what I am doing. All of my many accomplishments I am very proud of nobody can take that away from me That is why I am Handy Capable and not capped. We shouldn’t be arguing semantics. We should be helping each other to reach our full potential. Just saying

By Joseph on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 00:36

I'm unsure if this project is still going on or not. last I heard the funding goal wasn't reached. Developing this kind of game isn't cheep. with the kind of fund I saw on the GoFundMe page, and the amount donated, I don't know if the game will get what it needs to get off the ground at present. If it does I''ll be very pleasantly surprised indeed.

I will clear it up and make it simple for everyone to understand. Just because the kick starter goal was not reached does not mean development for CMR will not continue. The reason why I started a Kickstarter was to fund it and get it released this year. That is what I thought everyone wanted. Without the kick starter it will still be funded by myself and be released the first quarter of next year I know I have at least 25 people that want to play this game and is looking forward to its release. They are still on my game tester sign up and will be the first ones to test it before release. Mental vision games is not going anywhere for a very long time that is my promise to you

By Hannes on Thursday, August 23, 2018 - 00:36

Hi thanks so much for continuing to develop CMR Keep up the good work.

I had a podcast interview with I accessibility last weekend. Aleeha and Jason are so funny. I really enjoyed it. I could tell by some of their other podcast how passionate they are in informing our community about new products and education on how to use those products. I am very grateful to them both and would love to do another interview some other time later down the road. It was a blast. If you’ve never checked out there webpage, I urge you to. It is worth it. I didn’t feel like I wasted my time. I don’t think you will either. Iaccessibility.com Here is the podcast interview I did with them. After you check it out feel free to download their application off the Apple App Store. It is awesome. From iAccessibility: #iACast Special – Interview with Joe Quirk from Mental Vision LLC

Hello Roman. My game will be released after game testing. Some time between February and March next year. I do not believe that this is wishful thinking. At the pace the software and audio engineers are working. I believe that this is a realistic timeline . My team is working extremely hard and with passionate hearts.

Hello, I am a huge fan of audio games! I really loved all of the games by Somethin’ Else, especially the two Papa Sangre games and Audio Defense. I would love to be one of your beta testers for this game. My email address is:

Thanks and good luck preparing the game for testing.

If this game actually gets released, assuming that testing and funding goes well, I'll be both pleasantly surprised and quite pleased. I say if because, well, things can happen to ground a project. Assuming nothing does happen though, I'll be grabbing this if it comes to the app store.

Don’t worry Joseph. I am Handy Capable. The circus master is laughing at you right now. I promise it will be released. I just hope that you guys like it as much as I do.

You should go to Jesse Andersons illegally cited YouTube channel. He did a commentary video for the oculus connect five keynote for VR accessibility. His version is great. Here is the original version. It’s awesome. https://youtu.be/9ERhqYH2RNI

I know this is going to be a beta release, but hopefully the death sounds for the people are there. Oooo, I am so excited to kill clowns and other performers.

I can’t wait to test this game it’s going to be so much fun

By Ishkabibble on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

This article is disgusting. It is a combination of underestimating the blind, concocting wild and misinformation-filled conspiracy theories, and over-exaggerating things. This does not seem to be a mainstream publication. The fact that they ask how Ray Charles and Stevie Wonder made music like they did is náive and just sickening. I think we should try and report this person who wrote this! (Sorry for being off-topic.)

By Paul on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

lol You can't be serious. Apparently, Joseppie was the only one who seems to have realized that The Onion is a publisher of satire, not news. If the piece is read as satire, as it is intended, it is actually a pretty funny piece. We have to be able to laugh at ourselves from time to time.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I need to go bludgeon some noisy workers with my white stick of sightlessness. Vive la révolution!

By sockhopsinger on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

Thanks for posting this article. I haven't laughed so hard in a long time.

By alex wallis on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

I don't know how anyone could take that article seriously and think it was real journalism, though actually the first time I read an article from that site it took me in but was a bit more believable. also though I don't see the relevance of this article to the topic. though actually on the subject of this topic, I do worry that people are going to be very disappointed that they are hyping themselves up for some totally amazing game which will never be able to live up to all the expectations and anticipation, that if it does come out it will be a 5 minute wonder people will say this is an interesting game then people will lose interest as happens with most other audio games that come out. either that or it might get a few updates then nothing as I think it must be very difficult for developers to break even let alone make a profit. also, isn't this really just hoping to be a clone of audio defence just using different sounds and storyline? if it does come out I will wait for the reviews as I must admit the storyline doesn't really grab my attention at least what we have heard of it so far, but I will keep an open mind if it comes out and wait to see what others have to say about it.
I know the developer is keen to bring the game out but I do wonder if it will ever come out and if he is more of a dreamer hoping his project will be completed as I mean this topic is quite old already, though of course hopefully he does get to finish his dream. but mostly all the topic consists of is people saying I want to test the game, I think its going to be amazing etc with not two much concrete information.

I thought it was funny as hell. I actually had tears in my eyes I was laughing so hard.

Watch out, world! We, the blind people, are coming to get you. LOL.
This is a very funny article. I have truly enjoyed it.
I think this is a very ingenious peace. Congratulations to the writer.
This is only a very humorous article. Nobody should feel offended by it. on the contrary, smile and enjoy it.
It is very hilarious. I will share it with my friends and I am sure they will laugh, too.
Peace.
:-)

Mr. Alex. It is OK if you are skeptical. Not even six years ago nobody would believe that blind people play video games. Now blind people are developing games for other blind people. I will complete my project. I can’t wait for the reviews either. When it’s released I hope you give it a chance. Maybe then your mind will be changed. If you followed my blog you would know the progress of CMR. Check it out buddy.

By alex wallis on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

again this isn't relevant to the topic in question, I don't see why it was posted in the first place given that applevis is for discussion of apple products, I wonder if it was posted with the aim of getting more traffic and discussion on this topic and keeping a dead horse alive so to speak. given that the developer hosts a blog maybe that would have been a more appropriate place for the post. But to return to the topic of the actual game I will certainly be interested to see what people have to say about it if it does come out then depending on what people say I will decide wether to try it etc, though I do hope it is completed as of course we could do with all the games we can get on ios, sorry for being skeptical I guess I am just realistic, though I would be very happy to be proved wrong and for this game to be very successful.

By sockhopsinger on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 - 00:36

I would probably have never read this if it wasn't posted. For that reason alone, I am glad it was posted. To think it was published in 1996, according to the article itself.
