I've just started a new life. Some buttons I can figure out, but what are the infant and age buttons used for? And how do I actually get events to come up in the life I'm playing?

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

The infant button just shows the profile. You can't actually do any activities when you are an infant. The age button will advance you to the next year. When you are old enough, the infant button will become a school button where you can do activities. Also, you will need to close any pop-ups in order to do something first.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

The older you get, the more activities you will unlock. They can be found under the school, relationships and more button. When you are too young for an activity, the activity options will not open.

By Ornella on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Sounds good but wonder if its anything like alter ego? Will give it a try one day.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

It is way more sophisticated. Too many occupations and stuff to mention.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

I love this game. It is awesome. Wpould need some help to get started though.

By Sabrina on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

How do I age?

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Just double-tap the age button.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

It took me 5 attempts to get my license. Only the first attempt is free. Additional attemps must be paid for. I believe the price for the license test will vary depending on your country and city, but I'm not sure.

By HarmonicaPlayer on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

how do you take a second attempt if you fail the first time down the road?

By Cornettoking on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Hello,
I think this game is quite awesome, although can someone please contact the developer about all those unlabeled Buttons?

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

You will need to double-tap the more button, then double-tap on driving license. To get the cash, you will need to build a good relationship with your parents and ask them to give you money, or you will need to earn the cash from a job.

By Sabrina on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

I am now six years old. How in the whole world do I use the school screen? I double tap and it opens but I see no options.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

There should be 3 unlabeled buttons along with a school summary. Double check and make sure everything is closed before opening something new, otherwise you won't be able to open anything

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

The first button is study harder. The second button doesn't seem to do anything. The third is drop out of school.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

You can also Open relationships and double tap the name of your mom or dad, then do activities with them. It is wise to do activities with both. I believe that asking them for money drops your relationship level, however the game does not tell us what the relationship level is, so I am not sure. Do all the activities possible before aging. It is wise to browse all activities and see which ones you have unlocked.

By Ornella on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

I will get this. and thanks for the summary. If I am able to understand it better will do a podcast on it in the future.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Does anyone own a car or house yet? I got myself a BMW 7-Series.

By Chris on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

This sounds awesome! I'll download this in a little while and will write to the developer regarding the VoiceOver support.

By Paige on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

sometimes I can figure out what the unlabeled buttons are because of the whole "possible text" thing. But does anyone know what all the other unlabeled buttons are for? Also, when you're picking a major how do you get it to show you more than one choice?

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Double-tap on the name of the default major, then you can swipe through the list of available majors. Just keep swiping to find more major names. There will be other jargon in between.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

Sometimes I just take a screenshot and use seeing ai.

By Kristen on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

I downloaded this and played a bit last night. The good thing is, this is probably pretty easy to make accessible if we can get the developer to respond, as it looks like the main issue is the fact all the buttons are not labelled correctly and some things (like the Relationship bars) are not able to have text descriptions. There is also the issue of the pop-up dialogs not trapping VO's access from the content behind it, though from my dabbling in IOS programming this is not a difficult fix since the ard part of VO actually allowing us to swipe through things is already there.

Has anyone contacted the developer yet and passed along links to Apple's Accessibility guides?

I am not even getting the "Possible Text" thing on some of these, sadly. I am not sure if I am missing a setting. I am on the latest version of IOS on an iPhone 7.

By DMNagel on Monday, December 3, 2018 - 17:11

I'm not sure what to do or say to the developer, as I don't have much experience in this kind of thing. All I know is that buttons aren't correctly labeled and that relationship bars doesn't have text descriptions. I added this to the directory, hoping that someone with more experience and better word skills can swoop in and save the day.

By Ornella on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Is there a way to change the gender of the child? I got a male character and was wondering how to change it. If I can't I will just play along with it. The baby crying sounds cool.

By Kristen on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

In reply to by Ornella

I think it is random for the gender - I got a female, though I certainly did not have a choice. Then again, it's supposed to be a life simulator, I guess, and you certainly can't choose if you are going to born male ora female. lol.

I'll see about emailing the developer.

By Kristen on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I emailed the Developer and gave them some links to this page, as well as Apple's accessibility splash page for IOS.

At least, unlike Niantic (Pokemon Go), their email/contact form is accessible!

By Ornella on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Every time I age my self obviously I could tap the school button and when I go back, It says I am 0 years. And with the relationships I think the buttons sometimes change because tapping on the first 1 thinking that the parents will either give money or not and the second time around if I tap that very same button it says that I went somewhere with my dad or mom depending on who I chose. And for the activity looks like the only think I could do is go to the doctor. Will do some more digging around.

About the 0 Years thing. I saw that too, though it is misleading.

Basically it seems like the entire 'log' of what you are doing for each year is put into one line and it always starts with that Age: 0 Years. If you stop on that and let VO read it out, it will read everything you've done since the beginning.

I think I am up to 14 years. As for something beyond the interact with Parents and the Doctor, I seem to be able to do the Mind/Body (but only go to the library or learn to meditate), Movie Theater and "Sexuality" ( though all the choices here are unlabelled icon/picture buttons, so not sure which button does what.)

My person seems to have a lot of attractiveness (96%), but her intelligence is only at like 15%. I am not sure if that is variable.

By Ornella on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I am probably 14 years as well. So far I got my first kiss and went to the library and the movies but not sure if I did get through the movie. My character smarts is 34 percent and 91 percent looks. Seems like the mom is more generous when it comes to giving money not sure for other people but each time I ask my dad for money he always gives me 4 dollars and my mom gives me 59 at one time and 64 another. Not sure what jobs I could do while going to school though.

By Chris on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I sent an email through their contact form. Hopefully it actually sent. I got a message saying "We have not posted your email yet", so I hope it actually went through. I gave them a link to this page, Apple's accessibility guide, and a link for the audiogames forum.

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

When you start a new life from the menu, you can choose your name, gender, country and city.

By Ishkabibble on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Hi. Do any of you know if this game is playable offline? I have an iPhone, but no SIM card, (thanks, mom), and I go to school and back on the bus, so I’m looking for a time killer that won’t bore me extensively.

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Not sure if you can play offline. You probably can, but the game needs to be online to save.

Hi, I also sent an email to the developers and what you're describing sounds like it did not go through.

When you initially submit the email, you come to that page that says your email has not been sent ... but it's listing some Support FAQs/questions that it thinks may help bsed on the contents of the message. You have to go down a bit further to find the button/link that says Submit Email.

I think it is just to prevent them getting unneeded emails with a "Hey - are you sure these pages won't help your query?" You just have to hit another button to confirm that you really want to send the email.

I know mine went through since I got an automatic response saying they'd get back to me ASAP in the email address I gave them in the form.

By Brandi on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Just an FYI in case nobody has discovered this. I’ve created like 5 people so I’m getting better at figuring this stuff out. At age 3 you can spend time with your parents. Just go to relationships, pick a parent and then the unlabeled button at the bottom should let you spend time with one of them.

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I didn't bother checking since there were so few activities.

By Chris on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I finally managed to send the email. hopefully it actually went through this time. I'm glad I wrote it from scratch. I also discovered that there's an Android appp so I included information on making it more accessible with TalkBack. I know Android discussion isn't allowed on here, but I thought it would be good to send it along as well. iOS isn't the only accessible mobile platform for blind users which is fantastic!

Anyway, we'll see what happens. Maybe the developer will sign up and join the discussion.

By That Blind Canuck on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

My apologies if this is a bit off topic, but I was just curious to know what the Android version of this game was called? One of my Android friend would like to play this and we can't seem to find it in the Android App store.

By Chris on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I may have been wrong about an Android version. The results I found on Google all lead to a page not found message. As I've said to other people, you can buy an iPod Touch 6 for $150 or less if you really want to play iOS exclusive titles. Check https://www.apple.com/shop/product/FKH22LL/A/refurbished-ipod-touch-16gb-blue-6th-generation?fnode=f1333297a1a3306bc0eac3c8a57ea6aee2b080a77836e689dea95beb46cf3f7be2e8369bbe075585cb382fc53c2b5969f3863a681944de90a878a73e1805841f5e1b7975e34590a680d79964480c694e The 16 GB model should be fine if you're planning to only use it for games.

By Ornella on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Looks like when ever my character talks to his girl the same question or answer comes up. The girl's response is "not with you" "I don't want to have your baby. I think that's strange. And where do the list of jobs appear? Is that the activities?

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Jobs can be found when you double-tap occupation.

By Chris on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I'm finding this extremely difficult to play. Most of the controls are either too verbose or not labeled at all. Dialogs have to be dismissed before any other action can be taken. VoiceOver reads the entire log as a single element which quickly gets annoying. Hopefully this can be resolved soon. This has the potential to be really fantastic! It would meet my desire for an accessible version of The Sims which will probably not come from EA until Hell freezes over.

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

Keep in mind that when you double tap on your girlfriend, the activity options vary. You probably wanted to have a baby with her, but she refused. I suggest using seeing ai to take a screenshot and analyse the photos to get the order of the buttons straight.

By Moopie Curran on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

In reply to by DMNagel

It would be great if they made it a bit more usable, however, I had a really fun time playing this game. I played about five games with it. It really starts to get fun and amusing once you add custom people in their. I was up until two o'clock this morning playing it, lol. Its about time there was a usable simulation game like this.

By That Blind Canuck on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

I too have been playing this one for a while now, and I think I must have ranned through 5-6 lives by now.

I do agree that it would be great if the game could be made more accessible, especially with many of the in properly unlabelled, or even buttons who aren't labelled at all. Once you get the hang of it though, the app is still somewhat useable.

I was just curious though, I've had a couple of instances where I decided to go on the dark side and commit a crime. Is murder the only crime you can commit, or is there a way to choose something different?

By DMNagel on Thursday, January 3, 2019 - 17:11

So far, murder seems to be the only crime. How ever, the game is still being worked on and it sounds like they will be adding new stuff. I just hope it will be accessible, or at least tolerable.
