Anyone into fitness and uses all the apps and sensors?

Anyone who knows me will be shocked to learn that I have started getting fit. I'm excited by the many apps and sensors that are available for the iPhone and there potential to help me in my endeavour. However, I don't want to splash the cash on things like a FitBit or a heart rate sensor without knowing the apps that they connect to are going to be accessible enough for me to get some benefit out of using them. So, in an effort to save time and money - does anyone have the lowdown on what to buy and what to use for getting fit? Thanks in advance. JT

Hi! During cycling, I usually use Run keeper pro with the Polar h7 heartrate sensor. They work very well together, and Runkeeper provides you with all information you need. The Polar beat application is somewhat accessible, but I preferred Run keeper, as the fully accessible solution available.

The type of sensor really depends on the activity. running/walking? in doors on a treadmill, or outside? Biking? indoor exercise bike or outside? There are lots of tools to get the job done, you just didnt tell people what job your trying to do, in order to select the proper tools.

1. The MyFitnessPal is useable for tracking diet and exercise Etc. 2. I am going to assuem, because I've not bought one yet, that using a FitBit with MyFitnessPal will be useable to 3. RunKeeperPro is useable and again, can also be linked to your MFP account. 4. The Polar heart rate monitor works with RunKeeperPro So, it looks like with MyFitnessPal, RunKeeperPro together with a FitBit and a Polar Monitor, I will be able to do everything I want. Thanks for the info. JT

Hi jD, There is a very good free app made by Addidas called Micoach. This app is very accessible with VO but does also have it's own voice package. The app links very well with the addidus heart rate monitor and various other sensors. The app also utilises the GPS well on your phone. You can set goals and monitor them and the app also gives you heart rate and pacing zones to work in depending on your intial assessment. You can also set your programme for strength training if you wish.

Hi!
I've got a treadmill recently and wonder which app will give the best.
I've looked at Endomondo, but this app only supports GPS on my phone. That's pretty sad since this app is very popular.
Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Best regards Thomas
