Hi everyone. Is it just me, or has BitLife just became inaccessible all of a sudden? Today I tried playing it after a long break, only to discover that VoiceOver won't read anything.
Essentially, direct touch is not respected, and since you canβt turn on accessibility without VoiceOver as a workaround, it is, for all intense and purposes, inaccessible.
I thought native screen reader support was going to b a thing in unity programs now or was that just a thing that people lied to us about. So far I've seen no games that takes advantage of this at all! To be quite honest I don't even know why devs chooses to use this accessibility plugin because let's be frank. Buggy as hell. plus that thing, as far as I know has not been updated in ages. The only version of that plugin that's fantastic is the one in dawncaster but that's because devs modded that plugin to hell and back just to make it work like it's suppose to. I wish that version of the plugin could be pushed to the original dev's main branch but I don't see that happening nor do I see the dev of the plugin updating it anymore when they know it needs work. With that being said, I'm glad said plugin exists and that was a great easy start for devs to make unity games accessible cross platform but honestly at this point in time there is way better ways to handle shit and more modern I might add. Especially when you have supposedly screen reader support?
There's another liffe simulator game on here called life opop. You can do way more in it than Bitlife. From day one, the decs made it work with voiceover, and are very responsive to feedback.
Iβve been playing a life sim called FateBoundVI.
It has a simple interface and the developer is receptive to voiceover feedback.
Itβs different than than bitlife and lifepop cause you can reincarnate into a fantasy world where you can play an elf etc.

Yep Play LifePop
I haven't played BitLife in weeks. LifePop is better anyway.
