Talking on the phone and having voiceover starting to chatter

I'm wonder if anyone who has updated to IOS 13.1 has had this problem? If I'm talking on the phone and receive another call voiceover starts announcing the caller and number so that it interferes with my conversation and I have to tell the other person to wait while I silence it before asking them to repeat what they were saying when voiceover interrupted us. I don't recall this happening in previous versions and I want to make sure that it's a problem for other people before I call Apple and they want me to think that I'm going crazy because it's been that way all along. Thank you for reading.

You can change Announce Calls in Phone settings. There’s a few options you can choose. That should correct that.

Voiceover has always done this for me. Like the previous poster said, I think you can adjust how Voiceover handles calls in settings.

I have also been interrupted with Voiceover talking during a call, while the phone is up to my ear. I just checked phone settings and under Announce Calls, I have it set to always. Other than that setting, I see Headphones and car or headphones only as the two other choices. It seems to me that none of these would change the annoying behavior that the original poster reported. Anyone have any other suggestions?

It’s not a bug. There’s one more option. You can also set to Never.

Thanks for your replies. I'll check it out in my settings.
