Accessibility Comments

The game is very accessible to use. Please see below for more information about sme non-typical gestures when using this game.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads all page elements.

Button Labeling

All buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

The app is fully accessible with VoiceOver and is easy to navigate and use.

Other Comments

Please note that the typical VoiceOver gesture to swipe left and right in certain areas will not work as expected. For example in the Starting Game section. You will hear Use an Existing Account and if you swipe left or right you will hear Quit. One must use a flick up or down from the Use an Existing Account to find the Create an Account. This can be found throughout the app. So be careful about this gesture. The other is that the Log In can be tricky at first. Enter your UserName and don't touch anything else and use the Return key at the bottom right corner. If you get the response of New Line. You will have to do it over again by shutting down the app and start over. Also, after entering your Password and hitting Return. This next page want to let you know that it will remember your credential so you don't have to remember it again. If I touch anything by swiping or anything you will get stuck. Whenn you get to this page just double tap on the screen without doing anything else. Lastly, for some of you out there I may caution you on the sticker price. As you are aware that you may have been spoiled with the genrous free games on the actual RS Games site. That is not the case in this app. Luckily, you can just purchase the game you want without breaking the bank. Just remember it cost the developer money to create this game and pices like this are pretty reasonable for the work that they had to put in to this.

Leave any suggestions and tips in the Comments below so that others can enjoy and even any feedback for the developer.

Enjoy the game! :)

RS Games have built over 19 games for the last five years and not getting a dime for it. I admire that dedication. If they haven't been able to meet all of their commitments, its because they have full time jobs that they cannot afford to lose, and family responsibilities.

I'm agreeing with kfs here. Enough said.

To add friends, follow these steps:
• Open the RS Games app on your device
• Tap the Start Playing button then login to your account
• Go into a game, and tap and hold with one finger.
• Tap the Friends List option, and then tap the Add Friends button.
• You will get two options, Search fora Friend or Add from Online People, meaning, the people that are currently on the RS Games server playing other games.
Tapping the Search fora friend button will bring up the keyboard for you to type in the username of someone, like mine is
Jesus1
. Tapping Add from online people will give you a list of people that you can add that are currently online, pressing enter on them will make a confirmN alert pop up. Pressing Yes will confirm, pressing Cancel will obviously Cancel.
Hope this helps, and like RS Games always says, "happy gaming."

If you lowered it to far and it won’t raise back up, go to your library folder by hitting control+option M and go over to the go menu, arrow down to library. Once there, go to the application support folder and go to the ZPG folder, delete this folder. Don’t worry, once you open RS again and log in, the folder recreates itself to once again save your settings.

First of all, to kid friendly softwear, I can not praise you highly enough for these games and the frequency with which you release them, not to mention the loyalty to show to the blind community. You seriously deserve all the rewards you get. I for one am always purchasing the in apps because you deserve it, even if I don't play the games, though it's very few games of yours I don't frequently play.

Now to everyone, is there a way of seeing who's on the server?

By Igna Triay on Monday, July 25, 2016 - 19:15

Go to the menu, and select who's online.

Hi all, I'm using an external bluetooth keyboard with my iPad to play the RS games client, but even though it says that to read the chat messages you have to press control arrows, I can't find a way to read&hear any of them< also any advise for private messages would be helpful.

More specific I'm using the logitech ultrathin cover keyboard, just for the record.
Thanks

That should be fixed in the next vesion

By tunmi13 on Monday, July 25, 2016 - 19:15

Ths jesus1. If you have me in your friends list please delete me and refind me but instead ofa capital j put a lower case j. My username for this account used to be gamer33, but RS Games said since there were some technical glitches with my reguljesus1 account i may rename my gamer33 account to jesus1. Again, please delete the upper case J jesus1 and add the lower case jesus1.

All games are playable on the iPad. When you search, just make sure you include iPhone games as well.

Some bugs I've experienced with this app are listed below:

• When selecting a game from the main menu, it will say that the sounds have been downloaded successfully, but then nothing happens, no music, no sound, nothing. If I press down or up arrow (yes I use a bluetooth keyboard to play this game), all you hear is the little cute horn noise meaning it is an invalid action or key.

• When you send a chat message, as soon as it is sent, if you try taking your turn on any game, sometimes what happens is you hear that noise described above.

• Sometimes the music in a game overlaps, causing it to play two versions of the song at the same time, but then slowly gets out of beat and then you have a mix of snares kicks and hi-hats and confusion.

• Sometimes the main music ofthe game isn't the right pitch, sometimes it is too low, like an almost dead battery.

Are any of you guys experiencing any of these bugs I've listed?

By KidFriendlySoftware on Monday, July 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by tunmi13

The chat bug is fixed in the next version.
The honk sound means you are swiped when you shouldn't.
I haven't heard that problem before - can you try the same things without a keyboard using swiping and let me know.
You can email me directly from the game.
If you can give me a when to emulate the music problems, I can try that. I haven't heard either of the 2 problems before.

Hi. Downloaded this app today as it looks like fun and social too. I went to the option to create an account and input a user ID but there was no "Done" button or anything like that for me to carry on to the next step. I thought I might go on the RS Games website to see if I could do it from there but it's not immediately obviously how to do it. Do I have to download the client before I can create an account? I'm not too interested in playing on my pc if i'm honest.

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Thanks for that. My ID is KerryF if anyone fancies playing some games. Not sure how to add anyone if that's possible that is but I reckon cards against humanity looks like a lot of fun.

By Toonhead on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

The bug where the music plays too slow is definitely present here. Also, I found myself having to use a Bluetooth keyboard to enter text instead of using the on-screen keyboard. Or, if the app has its own internal keyboard, it wasn't showing up for me. I'm certain that given a bit of time this app will be even better!

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi. Finally got into this app and added some people. How do you find out wha games you can join? I hear them being announced but I've no idea how to join and I hear that games have been created but I have no idea what they are.

By Paige on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi! To join a game, press join game on the menu of the game you want to play. It will give you a list of available games, aand if there aren't any, it will tell you that andut you back in the main game menu. Also, my username is paiged if anyone wants to be friends. I love most of the games, but my favorite is apples to apples.

What happens when you try using the onscreen keyboard? When does it not work.
As to music, I'll coordinate with the RS guys. We are using MP3 files instead of OGG files, which should be more native for iOS.
Is it the background music that's too slow? Does it stutter?
Which games do you notice it on the most?

By gallagher123123 on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

First, I want to thank Blindfold games for making this amazing client. Second, i’m curious, what devices are you using when you get the music bug? On my iPhone 6s, I don’t have this issue. The 6s has the A9 processor. However, on my iPod touch 6th generation, the music is slower and lower in pitch. One of my friends has an iPhone 6, and he also has this issue. i’m wondering if it is a bug with devices that use the A8 processor.

By Brandi on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

I notice that there is an interesting bug while using the touch screen to navigate, particularly flicking one finger up or down through lists. While flicking up or down through list options, such as the list that appears when holding one finger on the screen. I'll be scrolling up or down and suddenly I get stuck in the control center which requires me to press the home button to get out of control center. Once this happens, it's very hard to go through lists without being stuck in the control center. This can get frustrating because a lot of game functions require use of this particular menu. It seems to primarily happen in the one-finger-hold menu but I've noticed it in the games list menu as well as the chat list menu.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by Brandi

This has nothing to do with the game. You need to set control center to not be active when in an app. You are starting your swipe too close to the top or bottom of the phone, and the swipe is being interpreted by ios as a control center swipe, and not passed to the game.

There may be a bug present in monopoly where I can't trade to anyone. I double tap on the propertys I want to give and receive but leave the price blank and double tap enter, yet, it still confirms that I want to trade no propertys; anyone else had this?
Anyway fabulous game. I also bought the bundle of games but it's still telling me I only have a few days of playing them etc. Hope it won't run out on me. :)
But again, Love your work so so so so very much! :)

By Michael Charlton on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by rdfreak

As it turns out, that is not a bug at all. The Nonopoly trade menu uses a multiselect list.

The way to select each item you want to choose is to single tap with two fingrers when the item is in focus. Then repeat as desired until all the items you want or are offering are selected. Finally, double tap witg one finger to confirm.

Hope this helps.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi all. When I am typing text to chat, I can't use braille screen input to type. It would be nice if this was added.

The next version will improve it.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

when will the next version be out?

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi. I signed up to this app on Sunday and I've had 1 successful game of Farkle with a bunch of bots. Is this community always so quiet or does it have a lot to do with the fact that I'm in the UK and possibly most of the users are US or World-based? I'm really not up for paying for games I'm barely going to play because of a lack of people.

By JeffB on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

There are players from all over but you got to find a game or open one and wait. You can also try private messaging people to try and start a game or join theirs.

By Maya on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hello all. Is there anyone using self-voicing and having the following issue? It seems as if the self-voicing cannot read properly what is on the screen.
For example, instead of saying: "to go back to the main menu, swipe up with three fingers", it says: "to go back to the main menu, swipe up..." and then it says "login as...".
It is just one example, but it is happening in the whole app, such as when playing Farkle and you roll dice, it reads rolled dice for a second or two, then it reads something else displayed on the screen, so not all dice are read out.
I hope what I'm trying to say makes sense because it is quite difficult to explain.
I am wondering is it a bug that can be fixed or is it something that the developer cannot do much about?
Is it self-voicing meant to be used with braille displays only?
I am sure what I've described above does not happen with any other voices.
I have no problem using other voices, but I know a few people in my country who would prefer using self-voicing because they do not understand other voices very much as they cannot speak English at all.
Please, is there anyone who would be willing to test and find out if you also have this issue with self-voicing and report it to the developer? I would do it myself, but I am not very good at explaining tech things in English.
Thank you for your help in advance.
Hapy gaming. :-)

When it uses self-voicing, it is actually speaking via voice over, and I have no control of what happens once that voice starts. I cannot stop that voice when you make another gesture.. I don't recommend using it. I built it initially to let people have access to other voices, which were no longer necessary in ios 9, and then I used it only for braille displays, which I just rewrote and made it much easier.

By Igna Triay on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Minor bug fixes. Support for braille display. Question, does voice chat work now on ios with this update?

By Maya on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hello. Thank you very much for your comment. Everything seems to be working with the latest upgrade. Well, it is quite complicated to explain why non-english speaking users in Slovakia find easier to use default Voiceover rather than voices reading screen with English pronunciation.

You may be able to add other voices to your iphone and the games should expose those voices as an option. Make sure its an english speaking voice, regardless of the accent.

By Chanelle on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hello,
First, I would like to thank KidFrly Software for developing the RS Games app. Having another platform, iOS, for playing RS Games is great—especially when I am out and about and need to pass time waiting for my ride. I will definitely be purchasing a few of the games when my trial runs out.
I am still having trouble using my braille display after installing the latest update. Part of my problem could be due to running iOS beta software. The app messages appear as flash messages on my braille display; in other words, the dialogs and prompts disappear after a few seconds. Also, pressing letters to navigate the menus (e.g., u for uno) does not work unless I press my spacebar or enter keys. The letters I press just stay on my display. Using my braille display scroll keys or commands to move to the next item also doesn't work to move through menus.
Still, I think that RS Games is a great app, and I look forward to future improvements/features.
Chanelle

The timing on the display is adjusted in the settings app under accessibility. I don't control that.
Typing a specific letter to jump to a menu item worked for me using a braille display, on ios 9.3.3
The scroll keys don't work, but I am in contact with some braille display manufacturers to see how to fix that. I don't know if it is solvable, but I will check.

By JeffB on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

I wonder if RS or Blindfold games thought about adding an add free option. That would be really nice if they did!

No voice chat yet. Text chat should be working. We'll look at voice chat and other things once we know everything else is perfect.

By Isak Sand on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hello all

Some years ago I was playing RS Games quite a lot on my PC, and thus I was kind of excited when I heard about this client. I installed it and I really like the app. I have a couple of comments relating to the chat:
- It would really be useful if Braille Screen Input could be used in the text fields. I mean, it's not a big deal to put in a Blackjack bet using the virtual keyboard, but I'm very used to use braille screen input in every place myself, so it would be really nice.
- A even more important thing regarding to the use of chat would be the possibility to use whatever VoiceOver voice or to just let the app use the same voice as VoiceOver is currently using. If I'm playing with some of my Finnish friends, we'll obviously be writing chat messages in Finnish, and it will be more or less impossible to understand these, if they are spoken by an English voice. Are there some technical obstacles to just let the app use the same voice as VoiceOver, and then if one want to use a certain voice, it could just be set in the rotor?

And when talking about the voices, I have downloaded the enhanced Karen, but she won't show up in the voices section of the settings. Some kind of bug?

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by Isak Sand

In the latest version braille input should be allowed on the text fields. Please let me know if its not.
When it is set as braille display, it will use the voice over settings. keep in mind that when you do that, you cannot interrupt the voice from speaking by tapping on the screen. With ios9, all downloaded voices should be available in the app; however the app only looks for english voices. Technically, voices are identified by 2 sets of letters like en-uk, where en means english, and uk means the UK diction. Maybe the voice you picked is not english? Do you think I should allow an option to expose all voices?

By Isak Sand on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by KidFriendlySoftware

Hello,

No, I cannot see braille input on text fields. I have it for sure enabled in the rotor, because I can use it in other places.
I will play around with the braille display alternative, but I think it really would make sense to have all the voices exposed. I'm sure there are other people around the world who would like to have the option to use a voice in their native language, although the texts are in English. AT least here in Finland we are very used to listen to English text with Finnish TTS voices.

There's something strange going on with the enhanced voices in the Customize Voices section. Now I can see the enhanced versions of karen as well as Samantha, but they sound exactly the same as the unenhanced ones.

By Maya on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hello. I completely understand what you are trying to say when talking about native language voices and thank you very much for explaining it better than I did. Many people in slovakia, mainly those who cannot speak and understand English at all, they just learn by the sound of the voice and the way text is spelt rather than pronounced, are also very used to listen to English text with Slovak TTS voices. People who can speak and understand English have no issues with English voices. I hope my post makes sense. :-)

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi. I've got to the end of my free period and am going to buy a couple of the games. However, these games are also included in bundles but as yet I'm not sure whether to buy the whole bundle or the game. Obviously there is a discount for buying a bundle. However, do I get any sort of discount if I buy a game and then a bundle which has the game? Also, what happens in terms of other people playing? We have family sharing set up on our iPhones so does that mean that if I purchase, my family will have no need to? Thanks for the info in advance.

I seen the problem Chanelle was having with braille and menus; having to use space or the dot 8 chord trick to move through a menu without having to touch the screen. To work around this issue, try setting the braille input to grade 1 (uncontracted) braille while moving through menus. Seems to me that translation is being required before keys are sent to RSG, which occurs when you use space.

By KidFriendlySoftware on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

In reply to by Kerry Fielding

We don't currently offer a discount if you purchase one game, and then you want to get a bundle. Apple doesn't make it easy for us to do that.
As to family sharing - just make sure you login using the same RS Games username, and you'll have full access to the games on each device.

By Joseph on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi all,

Is it just me, or are you guys still getting the "downloading sounds" message, even though all the sounds for all games have been downloaded already? Seems a bit odd.

By Paige on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi. The same thing happens to me with the downloading sounds message, but I'm not sure if it's a bug or if it's just trying to tell you that it's loading the game.

By Kerry Fielding on Thursday, August 25, 2016 - 19:15

Hi. I was playing the other day and I had an app crash. I had to log back in despite setting up the app so that it remembered my login details. i now have two instances of my login whenever I start playing. Both work it would seem, but I would like to get rid of one of them. Any help you may be able to give would be helpful. Thanks.
