Smart Home Tech and Gadgets

Hi,
My friend and I were talking earlier. We were wondering if their are any oven apps for the iPhone?

I mean a app to control the oven in your kitchen.

Hello All, I was wondering if anyone knows if the Elgato Eve app is accessible for their products you can connect. In short, can I control my connected devices through the app without sighted assistance?

Hoover have a range of wi-fi connected appliances collectively called Wizard which can all be fully controlled by one app. These include a fridge-freezer, washing machine, cooker, and dish-washer. I wonder has anyone come across any of these? In particular the app as of course I'm keen to know whether it works with Voice Over?

Hello everyone.
I have been looking into accessible bluetooth scales, as the talking kitchen scales in later years seems not to be as durable as in times past. But it seems the most options e.g. the smart chef scale is only available in the U.S. market.
Anyone aware of an accessible Bluetooth scale that has an accessible app that is being sold in Europe?
The scale has to have a precision of 1 Gram, and should weigh up to 3 or even better 5 KGs.
Thanks for any inputs in advance.
BR. Jesper.

Using 13 pro and iPad 9 with iOS 17.1.1. I live in a condominium and I would like to get a door bell for my place. It has to be put on the door and not wall. Management does not want the wall affected. Any suggestion. Hoping on black Friday within Amazon, I find a nice deal. Accessible and easy to use. Thanks.

Hi all, I have read 2 threads about video doorbells. I'm totally blind and am not sure that I need all the video features. Does anyone use an intercom system? Is one of the units durable enough to be outside? Thanks.

In light of prime day, I want to finally treat myself to a echo studio. However, what I can not decide at the moment is whether it is worth pairing it with the echo sub or not? Will I still get clear deep bass with just the studio or will it help having the sub as well.

Hi everyone
I am considering getting an Ecobee smart thermostat. I am wondering how accessible the app is on IOS. I know that I can use the thermostat with Alexa, but I would also like to be able to independently program the thermostat with the app.
Can anyone let me know if the app is usable with an iPhone? If not, is there another alternative?
Thanks for your help.

Hi. I got an Eton Odyssey Weather Radio, and the last couple days, I've been getting false alerts on it. I've had the same problem with the Midland ER-50. The user manual says that the audio will turn off in Alert mode. It does, but when I leave it in Alert Mode, the siren will go off, but it won't tune to the weather broadcast. I have to manually turn the alert off with the Power button. I'm afraid to put it back in Alert Mode.

Hi
Does anyone have experience with the accessibility of the Eufy app for robot vacuums with VoiceOver? I've been looking at the new Omni E25, as it's supposed to have the best mopping technology on the market right now, but I can't really test the app much myself without a vacuum.
I hope someone might be using/has tried to use it and can shed some light on this for me.
Kind regards
Camilla

Hi everyone,
yesterday I won a Yale smart lock as a prize, now I'm thinking about buying an IP camera from the same company.
I'd like to ask if someone has experiences with these products? Is Yale smart home app accessible? Are smart living sollutions, in general, accessible for us?
Many thanks in advance and greetings from Croatia!
Kind regards, Tea Turkovic

Ok maybe in the wrong catagory but here goes. I currently have Sky Q with 1 mini box. The issue is that the main box is constantly dropping off the virgin media wifi and you have to put the password back in which is a total pain. This is at least once a month. So thinking of swapping to Sky Stream. From research it looks like we do have accessibility like voice guidance etc. So, have any of you got it and does it work as well as Sky Q or as well as the description suggests it will? Thanks for any thoughts and for those overseas feel free to chip in!

Although I consider IHome basically a brand for generic tech crap, pthe ISS50 Multimonitor appears to be discontinued and is selling for $37 from after-market sellers. At that price, it compares well to any sort of talking product for the blind.
The unit is a couple of inches wide and deep, and perhaps 3.5" tall, a wite plastic box with motion and light sensor on the front and openings presumably for the temperature/humidity/sound sensors on the back, along with micro-USB power connector and buttons for display reset and dimmer.

Hi all.
I recently got tired of this old coffee pod machine I got from a friend a while ago. It has a stupid touchscreen which doesn't even work half of the time. I tryed messing around with brail lables but that didn't help much. I even tryed to get the app, but it isn't in my country's appstore.

Hi all, I want to purchase a video smart doorbell that is accessible with my Iphone and easy to install. Just wondering if anyone has come across such a beast and is willing to give some insight or point me in a direction with better information in relation to blindness.
Cheers

if this is wrong for Applevis, please delete it. But, I do need help. I have an Amazon basics deadbolt with the keypad, and I can’t reprogram my entry code. The batteries ran out and of course that meant everything got erased. I found a couple of videos which have helped a little. But, when I try to do the things it says to program my entry code, it doesn’t work. Does anyone have experience with this device and any advice?

I am looking to computerize parts of my house this summer. I would like to know if anyone has experience with thermostats, front door openers, weather sensors etc.

Where is the best place to obtain up to date and accurate information regarding compatible devices with Apple home kit? I currently have 5 smart plugs which I got through iHome Control They work reasonably well and do show up under the home app on my iPhone 6S running IOS 10.1.1. However, it still appears that to set rules etc I still need to use the iHome Control app. I also have the talking honeywell WI-FI thermostat but apparently that is not compatible with Apple's home kit as I cannot get it to appear in the app.

Hi,

I am just getting ready to jump into the smart thermostat market and have been trying to research options. I know the Nest has been around a long time and been the go-to product for awhile, but it appears Honeywell just released a thermostat that is home kit compatible. Since the idea of using Siri to control temperature is appealing, what do you guys think? Sound off in the comments if you have experiences from each company or the current accessibility state of their apps.

Thanks,
Chelsea
