Hi all.
I recently got tired of this old coffee pod machine I got from a friend a while ago. It has a stupid touchscreen which doesn't even work half of the time. I tryed messing around with brail lables but that didn't help much. I even tryed to get the app, but it isn't in my country's appstore.
So i was looking for good machines but everything is touchscreen now, and I do mean everything, it's kinda weird tbh.. Regardless, i was wundering if you guys know of any good machines that work with out a touchscreen, or if they do have a touchscreen have an app? At least then it has a chance of working.
Thanks all

Check amazon. I have one that it has one button to turn it off and on to start the coffee.

There are a few brands out there that make both coffee pot machines and coffee cup machines. Think coffee maker vs K Cup.
Regardless, plenty of them are affordable and have minimalistic controls.

Like Holger mentioned, I too have a simple coffee maker that has a single on/off button for brewing a pot of coffee. I believe it is a "Mr. Coffee", but honestly I have had it a few years, so who knows.

I also have a "Mainstays" brand single cup coffee maker. It has exactly 2 buttons (not touch screen at all). one button is for brewing a K cup, one button is for brewing my own ground coffee.

There really is no need for touch screen controlled coffee makers.

They are coffee makers, not tablet computers. 🙄

Are you a Starbucks person? The kind that wants milk frothed and stuff? Though it might be a bit pricey, Keurig actually was a touch screen camp maker then when i purchased the new one, it was two things. One, buttons, two half the size and about half the weight of my old one. My old one was ok until I put a cup in half asleep, and it wouldn't shut no matter how I tried. That was coffee god's way of saying, I'm done. The keurig i have makes a tick sound to let you know it's on. the only thing is the water level, you'll have to periodically check if you need to fill it. If the price is a little expensive you can either use what you can put up with until prime day or try other sites. Good luck.

Two years ago I bought a coffee maker from Siemens with home Konnekt app is easily accessible both in the preparation of coffee and in the care of the coffee maker

I've had good luck with the Keurig K-Elite. It does not ahve a touch screen and has about eight buttons instead. I'm easily able to select anything from a 4 to 12 ounce cup, decide if I want the cup to be strong or normal, and can make iced coffee as well. I"m not sure what country you are in but the Amazon link to what I ordered is https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0788F3R8X/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

95% of these machines don't even reach decent temperature. unless you want to brew expresso, you'd better off go traditional. roast your own beans, too, it costs 60% less and you can use real quality beans.

i wasn't saying the machines you guys recommended don't reach decent temperature, i was saying in general, 95% of all electric dripper don't reach proper temperature. so unless you want to make espresso, in that case, you'll need a top-of-the line expensive machine, you'd better go traditional. spend $200 for a good dripper simply ain't worth it, in my opinion.

greetings, coffee snob here! I have been around the block and have use so many different machines from pods to combination bird grinder, drips to pour over etc. etc.! in the end, I'm blending, pardon the pun, performance with simplicity, and have settled on the OXO 8 cup, stainless steel dripper, comes highly recommended! simple, no app just a couple of buttons! Hits 195°! uses showerhead, technology, that mimics the pour over technique! Here's a link! https://www.amazon.com/OXO-Cup-Coffee-Maker-8718800/dp/B07H9G93WK/ref=mp_s_a_1_4?crid=3LZB5Q7HI7UTW&keywords=oxo+coffee+machine&qid=1704970278&sprefix=oxo+coffee+machine%2Caps%2C177&sr=8-4

If you drink a lot of coffee per day, or have a decent sized coffee drinking household.

I'm happy with my simple, boring, 1 cup at a time coffee pod brewer.

Show me a decent cup of joe, and I'll show you a reason to live. Ha! 😀)

I do love myu coffee, but part of waking up each day for me is preparing it. I get up earlier and then use either a French Press or an Aeropress to make my coffee. Either of those options works out cheaply and makes awesome coffee. It's just a matter of trial and error.

Reply to Brian and Rocker. Rocker, Thanks for the coffee pot recommendation. And, like Brian, you don't need a computer to make coffee. I like simple. At work we say, "No coffee, no workee!"

Like Oliver, coffee is one of my many fads. Unlike Oliver, I don't do the pod thing. There are so many coffees available if you are prepared to buy beans. I get myself a bean to cup coffee machine with an insulated pot which gives me flexibility over cup size, coffee strength and so on.

to which end, anyone know of a bean to cup machine (not a pod machine) with an accessible ap? My dear old Milita coffee machine is relatively simple to use, being push button and all that, but an app would be great. as jonathan Mosan so rightly puts it, my coffee machine is accessible in terms of input, relatively speaking, but inaccessible in terms of output.

Oliver, let's test your love of coffee: can you answer the above question?

My other half bought me some Jamaica Blue Mountain for my last birthday. The champagne of coffees! bingo only whips up a pot of that on high days and holidays, I can tell you.

Bingo, that is indeed the holy grail of coffee. I must advise though not to let it store too long. After all, coffee starts losing flavor after a while. Wow, hope that doesn't sound too snobby. :) That being said, if anyone likes trying good beans from around the world, may I recommend Atlas Coffee Club? www.atlascoffeeclub.com.

Many, many moons ago, I had a significant other. Also known as my better half. Her and I are both totally blind, yet she enjoyed buying beans and grinding them out herself. These days this old man enjoys a simple life with simple coffee mechanics.

I understand there is an art to coffee imbibing just as there is an art to wine tasting, however if it takes more than a few minutes I tend to lose interest.

And so, I will enjoy my simple coffee pod brew, which I find to be quite tasty and minimalistic in both design and functionality, as I too am a minimalist by design and function. 😆☕️

This might be your answer. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Somebody figured out a way to make the phrase, "Cuppa Joe" work for them. Fantastic. 😑

Note that the subject header indicates I am about to comment specifically on these two posts:

If you want to preserve Jamaica Blue Mountain, or indeed roasted beans in general, for longer then a good vacuum sealer or preservation in the freezer (in a good freezer bag) will do the trick. i suspect Oliver's kitchen is too small for a vacuum sealer and has an integrated freezer like so many cozy flats, so the latter option would work better. Oliver, you're not going to shift that flat easily, you know - post-Grenfell it is very difficult to shift a property like that asuming you are a long leaseholder. Believe me, Bingo has recent experience of suc machinations.
