I set up my emergency S.O.S. contacts and was reading about how it works. OK, sorry folks. Here's my question: the sleep/wake button is the one on the phone and not the same as the Home Button, right? Thank you.

Hi, Gail. The sleep/wake button is the same button used to turn thE phone on or off. Hope this helped. And, it was not a silly question to ask. Have a good one.

Hi Jess, Thanks for the confirmation. If I ever have to hit the button for an emergency, I'll know the right one.

I hear this is different for newer phones though. Just yesterday I activated Emergency SOS by mistake on my iPhone 7. I won't get into an explanation of how this happened, as I need to start my laundry in a bit. But it turned out well in the end, and at least I have confirmation that this feature indeed works with VoiceOver on my current phone.

It's very easy to trigger EMS, I've done it a couple of times, once half asleep, the other it was buried in my purse, thanks designers for thinking women don't need pockets. It buzzed, thought nothing of it, then I heard this siren ring, as I realized, oh hell, and grabbed for it. Thankfully the dispatchers understood it was a mistake and no cops were summoned. Hell even my old man called them. Note, they will call back immediately. The action button on the 15 series I don't know if that will do it. Also, the silly/stupidest question is the one you don't ask.
