On the IPhone8 is there a way if the phone is on vibrate mode using the mute switch is there a way when I get a text I can have the phone vibrate instead of tap me? Reason I'm asking because it's very easy to miss these taps if you are not paying attention.
Thanks

Hi, it depends on what tone you have set to as your text tone. There's some setting, i forget what it is called, but depending on what tone is selected, it will tap out the rhythm of the tone, instead of whatever vibration is selected for texts or other notifications, I think... I'm not sure, i think its called synchronized (default). not sure.

Hello,

This tapping is due to the iPhone's newer vibration motor, the taptic engine. As the previous poster said, the default vibration setting for texts and calls synchronizes with the rhythm of the tone. However, you could change the vibration setting in Settings, Sounds and Haptics, Text Tone, Vibration (I think, I haven't changed the settings there in a while.) You could also create a custom vibration to suit your preferences, (there is a button near the bottom of the Vibrations screen. Note, however, that there appears to be no way to delete vibrations after you have confirmed the initial vibration creation.)

Hope this helps.

Sincerely,
Maddy
