Hi, every time I try to send someone a text message and they don't have an iPhone and I'm using Siri to do this. After I compose the message and send it, it says message failed. I think the phone thinks that they have an iPhone and they really don't. I'm running the latest version of iOS. It's also happening to my friend who's running the version of iOS before this one.

Sending text messages
I have the latest software update, iOS 12.4 and I’m able to send text messages with my iPhone eat. Have you gone to your settings app? If not, I’d suggest you follow these steps: Open the Settings app, scroll down to messages, in the list it will say send as SMS, turn it on. After that you’ll be able to send messages to people who don’t have an iPhone. Sorry what I said earlier was iPhone 8.
