So as some of you know, facebook released a new update the other day I'm assooming. Well I usually have my apps set to automatically update but wanted to update them manually because facebook had a new update. I eagerly updated it in hopes that the tagging issue that a lot of us use would be fixed. I went to post a status and I am sad to report that this issue still hasn't been fixed.

this is why I never update facebook. I'm using an earlier version that still works for me. Untill facebook forces me to update, I won't, because i'm always seeing that accessability is broken in some way. Thank god for you guys in the applevis community for keeping us informed

Everytime facebook updates something is always broken with accessibility. I still update my app though but I don't use a lot of the features. I hate the way they have the comments section as it is right now. Before it was better. Anytime I want to view comments most relevant or oldest is selected and I always have to go and change it else I don't see replies on people's comments.

It fixed it for me. I am too. I am glad people on here post warnings on here about things that are broken with facebook.

I don't use half the features on facebook, in fact I can say the update is more stable and runs a lot better. on my 6. The app is fastr and to me more accessible.

This is totally unrelated to the tagging issue, which I don't appear to be experiencing, but it is no less annoying: I don't seem to get notified of my friends' birthdays anymore. I have gone into notificaiton settings and done just about everything I can to ensure that these notifications appear - I've even turned on email and text for birthdays - but nothing happens. Does anyone have any idea what I can do about this? I have asked Facebook themselves but I might as well ask the cat.

I don't know about notifications for birthdays, but they have hidden the birthday list in a very strange place. Now, to get to birthdays in the app, you have to go under the, I think it's the more tab, but it is the last one on the bottom right . Then you have to go under events and then select the calendar tab which is on the upper part of the page in the middle of the screen. That's where you find the birthday list now. Hope that helps some.

Try using the @ sign, then typing a name. Then go above the text field if you're on the phone. Now the Mac, is a different story. I wish you could start typing a name and arrow down to the name you want. I mean if I want my friend Melissa, i don't need to tag say Mellisa Ethridge. right? ;) Try that though. I never use outdated versions of anything if I can help it. Said while use a 2012 Mac haha.

Yes, some of my friends still get birthday notifications. I found them really useful myself as I won't always look on my news feed every day, and certainly won't spot a birthday if it's buried somewhere in the news feed. it seems odd that some of us get them and others don't.

Since I could care less about birthday notifications (I disappear from fb on mine so I don't see anyone's birthday wishes to me) I never noticed they were gone in the first place. So for me it really does not matter. I just send an all out thanks on my tl so I don't have to see the "happy birthday" stuff. So for me it doesn't really matter.
