Alright, so I think I may be losing my mind. For a couple of days now, I keep getting this 2 quick taps and a ding notification on my Apple Watch, but when I wake up the watch, I get my watch face and if I open the Notification Centre, nothing's there!
So people are clear, I have an Apple Watch Series 4 and an iPhone 8 Plus, both running the latest versions of their respective operating systems.
I've gone through the Notification settings in both the iPhone's Settings application and the Watch application and all seems to be fine. I thought perhaps I had a specific notification that was set to be delivered quietly and not be displayed in the Notification Centre, but all of my apps are set to have their notifications appear in the Notification Centre.
Come to think of it, I hdid recently update my iPhone to that minor update earlier this week, to version 12.3.2, the one that was supposed to fix an issue with the camera's portrait thing.
I did fine a conversation online about someone that seemed to be having the same issue, but other's response did not apply to me as the originator did mention they workout and some thought it was probably, when he was working out, that they may be accidentally pressing and holding on the crown, but to me, this notification happens several times a day, even when I'm not working out.
I also read another article online that claims that it may all be in our minds and we just think we feel a tap on the wrist from the Apple Watch, but we actually are not.
But I am positive that I am actually getting something, and I do have to admit, it is starting to drive me bonkers. Not really that I am getting this notification, but not knowing which app it refers to, that is what's driving me up the wall.
Anyone else out there encountering the same issue?

Do you happen to have Weather Gods installed?
If so, we might have found the answer (smiles)
If you do have Weather Gods, the latest update includes an option to have the Watch give haptic feedback each time the weather data is updated.
If not, I'll go back to my corner and wait for somebody with a better answer (wink)
watch 3
I get that sometimes. I check my notification and there is nothing. This happen before the w gods update.

I think Eileen might be right :)
You can check by:
1. Loading the Apple Watch app on the iPhone
2. Swipe down to Weather Gods section and select
3. At the bottom of the screen is an option Haptic update.
RE: One possibility
Thanks for the intel, I've gone into the Watch app and under WeatherGods and toggled the "Haptic Update" off. So I'll keep an ear open and see if I still get those notifications.
Perhaps adding a little description or explanatory bit of text below the toggle switch letting users know what will happen when this option is toggled on.
I have a gut feeling that you all are right and that this is probably the culprit to my insanity. LOL! It's the only answer that would make sense as I do have WeatherGods as complications to each of my Watch faces, and I have 3 of them.
Will let you all know if this works. Thanks again for your help!

Sorry Blinken223 for causing the madness :)
Strangely, most of the time the haptic update doesn't work - and I've never got to the bottom of it. Perhaps there is a certain combination of watch and watchOS which gets it working.
I agree with the idea of some explanatory text and will add in the next update.
Thanks
I Think We Got It!
Hey Scott, so after toggling off the Haptic Update setting, I haven't gotten another one of those ghost notifications. So I think it may be safe to say that we figured it out.
Thanks to @Eileen and Scott for helping me out on this one. I think I may just keep this setting turned off for now. Who knows, I may toggle it back on eventually, if I ever wish to be notified when the weather data gets updated on the watch.
No worries Scott on going bonkers. Like I said, it wasn't really the fact that I was getting these ghost notifications, it was more that I had no clue which app they referred to. I'm just glad that @Eileen and you were able to help me figure it out.
I am also glad to hear that the recent update to WeatherGods also permitted us to select which information appeared on the watch complication. Although it was nice to have much more details than the stock weather app, it's even greater that we can customize the complication to show information that we prefer hearing.
Thanks again for the wonderful work with WeatherGods, it's definitely turning into one of my most favourite apps.
