Hi!
I'm Mikko, a blind music producer from Finland. I work for the company MyTrueSound. We make mobile audio games.

We're gonna publish our new game Audio Wizards in a few months. We're currently running a competition for blind and visually impaired musicians all around the world to make the best fantasy music tracks for the game.

So if you make music, please take part.
Please read the rules on a link below and listen to the demo song so that you know what we aim for.

The winners will:
- Get their music in the game and also a possibility to do music for the games to come
- Get paid
- Get fame

I will be finalizing the songs together with the winners so this is not a production competition, the best composition, not the best sound wins.

Here are the rules:

All the best to everybody, hope to see many tracks and get to know new musicians !

Hi Mikko,
I listened to the trailer and level one music. Was this composed and produced by someone visually impaired?
I like the piece, I think it gets a light magic flavor across very well.
Take care,
Che

Sorry, after reading your web page, it looks like indeed this was done by someone visually impaired, very nice.

Are you also taking submissions for sound effects, or just music?

Hi Mikko. Looking forward to this. I'm currently working on something and am trying to make it as dynamic and good as possible. One question I have though. The music changes depending on how many enimies are on the screen. Does the intensity ramp up as the level progresses, or does it rise and fall depending on how many enimies? Take care.

Hi Remy
I will answer to that. We actually can do whatever we want with the enemies depending on the music, and not the other way around.

In theory there are ten levels. The first ones are easier, and the pace or speed might be slow. But they might perhaps include a crescendo (more enemies towards the end). It could also rise and fall according to the enemies.

Basically, what we will do is to choose music for the first levels and music for the last levels, and then modify the parameters in our code to match the appearance of enemies according to what the music tells or communicates. You should do the music according to what type of level you would like to be appearing. If you like hard and fast temp, go ahead. If you like quiet and slow pace melodies, then also ok.

So far we have gotten music from 8 artist, and most of it super good. It is going to be difficult to decide!

Still over two weeks time.

Thanks very much for your reply. That gives me a clear answer. One thing that might be really fun, if people are okay with it is to post all the entries for all of us to hear. It'd be really cool to see what everyone else comes up with.

Hi

Regarding the competition for the music of our next game AudioWizards, we got so far 17 songs from 13 blind musicians. Awesome!.

Most of them are really fantastic, but still we want to catch the attention of other great artists. If you want to make a career into game music, and you think you might have what it takes, this would be a good chance.

Perhaps soon, some other indie developers will follow us, and one day it will be common that your names are in the credits of great games. Wouldn't that be cool?!

Competition will be closed in 9 days, but still you have time!

Please, visit our site where all the rules are described.

and yeah, most probably we will put online the music, so you also can vote (more news about that coming soon)

Very best regards
david

Hi David. That's great you've gotten so many submissions. Mine is coming very soon. I've got one more "section" to compose, then some cleaning up and mixing. I'll probably just make the deadline, but I will make it. I'm looking forward to hearing everyone else's submissions, though I personally think as the creators, you all should have the say of whose music is used, since you're the ones who have a greater understanding of how the game will work. Either way, this was a relaly cool thing. I'm really happy I got a chance to compose something in this style. I figure even if my music isn't chosen, I'll have a nice epic orchestration to show off.:) SO either way, I win.:)
