Description of App

What happens when everyone is stuck in the same time loop, without knowing?

Alt-Frequencies is an audio mystery game where you use the airwaves to open the world’s eyes to the truth. Record, rewind time and broadcast snippets of radio shows to expose radio hosts, conspiracy theorists, politicians, underground activists - and a dog.

By redistributing information, you change what happens in the next 3 minute time loop and impact both news cycles and the lives of the people behind them.

Listen as their personal stories evolve, in a world that seems to stand still.

Features:
- A new kind of narrative game that blurs the lines between the fantastical and the everyday while examining our relationship with mainstream media through the prism of radio stations.
- Built-in accessibility features that make the game available to a wide range of people - including blind and visually impaired players.
- Brought to life by a diverse cast of 20+ amazing voice performers, including TV, podcasts and YouTube personalities such as Jasika Nicole (Fringe, Welcome to Night Vale).
- By the studio behind the critically acclaimed A Normal Lost Phone and Another Lost Phone: Laura’s Story.

A co-production from ARTE, the European cultural network, with Accidental Queens.

This game is great. Sci-fi, a relatable story if anybody has scene headlines in recent years, and the characters have varying personalities that satire journalism and how we use information.

I like the description and title of the game. seems fun! Are there any promo codes? I don’t have money for this game. if anyone can give me the money amount it costs in the USa. I would greatly appreciate it. Thanks

this sounds like it could be fun, and very similar to the game freeq that was available on the appstore a few years ago, that was a great game, but it certainly had its major frustrations particularly with being unable to skip dialogue, if I am right and this game has multiple endings and scene possibilities I hope its possible to skip scenes once listened to as I can tell you its no fun listening to a 5 minutes scene that you have heard lots of times before, and was one of the reasons I eventually stopped playing freeq.

By DMNagel on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

Yes, it is surely possible to skip dialogues and scenes. Just double-tap with 1 finger to skip stuff.

By alex wallis on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

one thing they do need to sort out is the button labelling for VoiceOver its a bit messy, but so far its a fun game.

How do you pass chapter 2

By DMNagel on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

Record the first hint, then send it to the students station. Next record their question which is: "Are we being lied to by the government" then send it to the dj with the dog. Record the dj's statement on lying and send it to fresh fm. Finally, record Michelle's story of her friend with the headaches and send that to the news station.

Can’t wait to try this game. Sounds great.

I don't think people should be asking for handouts, weather that be in the form of gift cards, or promo codes, in the case of gift cards, I believe the minimum you can get them for is 10 of your currency of choice, so basically that's begging for free money, also someone was asking for gift cards for another game recently, not sure if it was the above poster, but they were claiming it was down to some issue with apple, but seriously if you can't afford a game ask for it from friends and family for birthdays Christmas etc not strangers. and as to promo codes seriously people the developer has to make money its a one off purchase actually in my view its worth it its obvious a lot of time and effort has gone into this game its not some silly game cooked up by a teenager in there bedroom like most audio games out there. codes are given out by developers at there discretion and actually do them out of profits to put into future games, that's called killing the golden goose, these people should be supported. also if a developer gives out a few codes, where does it end, they get snapped up in 5 minutes, then other people start wining oh I didn't get to use a code, can I have a code please. seriously the above people asking for handouts are examples of an attitude in the blind community of wanting stuff for free. sorry if I sound harsh, but these are my views, no such thing in this world as a free lunch.

By Unregistered User (not verified) on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

This person is right. People shouldn’t be asking for gift cards and promo codes on here.

By DMNagel on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

I got 2 endings. Not sure but i think they are the only ones.

By alex wallis on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

the game has 23 achievements if you tap the achievements option in the main menu you can see what ones you have and haven't earned, though some are shown has hidden, if you tap each achievement it will show you how you earned it and when, so I doubt you can get all of them in a single run through, and even if there are only 2 endings that's still a lot of things to do. I am surprised the game doesn't cost more actually. I wonder if they plan to make any of there other games accessible, I purchased several and to save people spending money needlessly this is the only game that I have found of there's that is accessible.

By Imaginingstuff on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

I see people getting after others for asking for the game, pretty much shaming them. I say why judge them? Just because you wouldn't ask does not mean everyone is like you. Some people wouldn't ask for help crossing a 9 lane highway, but that doesn't make it wrong for someone else to ask a stranger to cross the road. Whether it is money or kindness or directions or a recipe, we all ask for help once in a while. Money is no different. It is just another type of energy.
Judging people is just silly.

asking for money or help is fine I agree say if its for essentials like food or paying medical bills. but come on seriously a game, firstly its only about $5, which isn't a lot really, especially for all the content in it, and where do you draw the line? I mean, hands up would anyone like to pay for a Netflix subscription for me for a year? if people really can't afford it then save up, people live in a world where quite often instant gratification is wanted something new and shiny comes out and people want it right away. take me for example, I would have quite liked to get an iPhone xs max when it came out especially as the x is depreciating in value the older it gets and the more iPhone models come out. guess what I didn't ask for money, and in fact I am staying with my x till at least September or whenever the next model comes out, because sure max would have been nice to have but its not essential, I am not going to die without it, and I have other things that are more important to budget for. also in the case of a game, a lot of these developers are very small, and so need all the purchases they can get. for a repeat subscription I could be more sympathetic about asking for a promo code or being sent money for a game, but in the case of a one off purchase any time codes are given out that's less sales, and so less money to reinvest in future projects.

Regardless of what anyone think on the matter, it opens up either the opportunity to be a darling or a dick. The same goes for beggers on the street. You either help or you don't. It's out there.

By alex wallis on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

In the case of street beggars I certainly wouldn't give them money as you wouldn't know what they were going to spend it on, and I wouldn't give to a big charity because knowing them it would go on admin. However I would quite happily buy the hypothetical beggar a sandwich or other meal of choice and a cup of coffee, because that way your actually being practically helpful and kind to them.

By Kimbowen on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

I remember playing freak when it came out, but wasn't able to finish it, due to this really unique game disappearing from the App Store when the iPhones went to 64 bit. I didn't mind re-listening to scenes in the game, but it was fun deciding who The different characters talked to and seeing how the story would differ. I'm looking forward to playing this similar, more in depth game!

By brandon armstrong on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

the problem with some in this community is they will gladly pay for simplistic junk like blindfold games, which I'm sorry to say have no replay value to me, and when a dev like this or something else comes along, they can't be bothered to pay even a little to support great games like pappa sangre 2 and making the devs go out of business. it's pretty pathetic and sad to me how some just want free handouts, and will pay for simplistic blindfold junk.

By alex wallis on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

well I think some blindfold stuff is interesting like some of the card games but I do agree on balance a lot of it is simplistic. whereas this developer seems to have sprung from nowhere, with a very high quality game compared to some that recently came out like gold gun. actually I might contact them to ask about accessibility of some of there other titles, normal phone in particular sounds interesting, though obviously I doubt there zombie game could be made accessible.

Thanks for the help! I couldn't remember what the next step was after recording the statement about that McMillan girl and sending it to the student station . This game is so much fun! Something tells me everything will eventually make sense when we finish the fifth and final chapter. The concept is fascinating, and I can't wait to see what happens next!

By Autumn on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

Hey everyone I’m sorry for asking for a gift card. I’m sorry if i offended anyone i didn’t mean to. I was asking for help because I don’t have enough money not because I was being rude. I haven’t bought any blindfold games because I don’t have any interest in those games. I hope everyone has a blessed day. God loves us no matter who we are he is there for all his children.

By Bingo Little on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

This is very, very good especially for the money! The only improvement I would suggest is that the DJ with the dog deserves a game all to himself.

anyway, it's my birthday in July. Does anyone want to buy me a present? Bear in mind that I'm quite a high earner so can afford most of the games and apps on here, so a high ticket item would be very much appreciated. It doesn't matter if you don't know me - in fact, it makes it much easier as I shan't waste any time about feeling guilty about how much you end up spending (and I hope it's north of a grand, by the way). Anyway, cheers in advance.

By alex wallis on Thursday, May 23, 2019 - 18:11

I will say I found the endings a bit disappointing, there only seem to be two and not very much happened in either of them but the lead up was good, I never managed to figure out the achievement with the plane, also the baby monitor achievement seems to be broken as far as I can tell but it kept me occupied for a few days, of course if anyone does find more than two endings would be good to know.
Bingo as to your birthday present can I get you a trip to space with virgin? or a one way ticket to mars? lol.

By tunmi13 on Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 18:11

From my perspective, as Imaginingstuff said, why judge? If you can't do it, why comment about it? If you can't afford it, what's the issue with asking for a card every once in awhile?
Not every person will have the ability to afford things. Yes, it is understandable that the developer may need the support, and it is highly encouraged it be done so that the developer doesn't lose the ability to keep producing content, but if someone is having trouble affording something and needs a card, I don't see any reason for retorts. If you know that you cannot do what the asker is asking for, there's no reason to say anything about it. It's a waste of time.
Hope my perspective is clear.

By Bingo Little on Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 18:11

Honestly, I read posts to the effect of 'why judge?', 'don't judge others', and that sort of thing all the time on here. It looks like this thread has had its fair share of moral relativism - about as much nonsense as moral relativism usually is. Why judge? Because we judge in life all the time. The 'why judge' thesis would treat every opinion as valid, every answer as right. The logic is: it's right, even if it's not your right or my right, it must be someone else's perception of right and therefore it must be right. Not a valid syllogism. We could take this even further and say that we should never judge something as wrong either. Pulling cats' tails, for example: that's gratuitous crulety, I hope you agree; but what if someone as yet unborn actually comes into being and grows up to hold the view that cats rather like having their tails pulled, and that even if they don't it's fair enough because the screams that cats make when having their tails pulled actually stimulate human mindfulness and eleviate stress? Should we not, in order to defend the rights of this future person, say that actually pulling cats' tails is not wrong after all?M y point is that if we sided with the 'why judge' merchants, nothing would be right and nothing would be wrong, or perhaps everything would be right and everything would be wrong, or there would be no such thing as right or wrong - you can take your pick of these. In fact, the 'why judge' merchants are their own worst enemies. By teling those of us who have criticised people for asking for gift cards, they themselves have formed a judgment of our actions. They've judged that were wrong to criticise. the 'why judge?' question in itself contains an implicit judgment.

So let's not shelter behind meaningless moral plattitudes such as 'everyone is entitled to their opinion' - let's acknowledge that the 'why judge' merchants are condemned by the very question that they ask, and let's get back to the topic! It is, in my judgment based on my upbringing and life experience, bad manners in effect to ask for presents. It is also bad manners to ask anyone for money, in effect. In this particular case five dollars is, erm, one large coffee with a bit of syrup of your choosing at Starbucks?

Anyway, that's my rant of the day. Blame the DJ with the dog in this excellent game for it, if you like.

By DMNagel on Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 18:11

At least the silent person who doesn't help, or who doesn't believe in helping can always claim that they never heard the question, didn't read the post or wasn't there. You get the picture. Come to think of it, the silent person doesn't need to claim anything since no-one knows what they know, heard or saw. They do not expose themselves. Loud mouths don't get anything for their efforts except counter arguments. Then again, maybe that's just what they want. Who knows? Five dollars for a coffee you say? In my country, I can add one dollar and buy myself a whole can then probably treat all of you for a cup.

By alex wallis on Sunday, June 23, 2019 - 18:11

eexcellently put bingo, I wish I could be as eloquent as you with my arguments

I never comment but had to say how well this is done. Best voice acting I've come across and really fascinating. I really recommend this and I'm pretty hard to please lol.

Hi everyone!
This is the first time when i see lots of discussions about helping to purchase the game more than about the game itself.
But i have a question about the game.
By the way i really enjoy it!
How do I complete the first chapter? I completed it accedentaly correctly, but when i tryed to complete it again i couldn't figure out how to do it! :)
I understoodd that i have to record a question from a first news station, send it to the third station, but what's next? I've been trying to record answers from the caller and send them to the forth station but that doesn't help! I did something and it worked, but i didn't figure out the right salution.
I want to thank developers for this game!
I am glad that it's available on iOs and on steam, it makes a great choice for people who want to purchase it so they have lots of options to choose!
