Great Episode!
Hey guys, got to admit it, but I keep looking forward to this podcast every month and you guys always bring a smile to my face each time I hear Randy with his voice changer.
I just thought I would add something to your conversation regarding importing custom tones to your iPhone. I do miss when Apple had a Tones folder under your music library and you could easily import them into your library and easily sync them over to the phone.
I know that since Apple removed the Tones folder, I had learned, exactly how you guys described it, how to manually copy and paste your tones from your computer into your iPhone directly.
There is one slight issue though, if you've purchased tones from Apple but wish to delete them off of your phone, there is no simple way of removing them. Before, when Tones were a part of your library, both custom and purchased tones appeared in the Tones folder under your library, making it easier to delete purchased tones and only keeping tones you wanted on your phone.
Since they have now removed the Tones folder from within your library though, the only tones that appear in the Tones folder under your iPhone are your custome tones, not the purchased tones.
The only way to download your purchased tones is directly on your iPhone, under Settings and under Sound and Haptics. The only problem though, is if you download your tones, you download them all, and if there is a tone you don't want, well, there is no way to manage your purchased tones from your phone or through iTunes.
I'm sure there are probably third party apps that can help with this, but I do not like what Apple has done, and have sent my feedback to them on the matter.
I do hope though that if they do split off iTunes into several apps, that the one that manages your music might have Tones added back into it, or at least allow us to manage our custom/purchased tones from the phone directly.
Anyways, either then that, I just wanted to say great show and look forward to next month's podcast.
Thanks!
Hi Blinken223 ,
You are right about those purchased tones. There are days I wish I could remove them from my iPhone, but I can't. Very annoying indeed. As I have about a dozen of them and I hate having to flick past them just to get to the tone that I want. Unfortunately, most of the tones that I've purchased I never use any more. So, I am with you if we could get the option to remove them like we do for apps. If we need them back, I could simply download them again.
Thanks for reaching out to us! We are honored to hear that you enjoy the show and most of all that it brings a smile to your day. That alone will make our day in hearing from our listeners is always rewarding.
You take care!

Another Great One
Just listened to this last night and really enjoyed it! You guys are hilarious! Wonder what will become of "Accessibility Events" anyway? I guess Apple just doesn't give a hoot. Lol just kidding! Keep up the good work.
