In February 2018 Apple launched the HomePod, its foray into the smart home speaker market. In this podcast, Khalfan Bin Dhaher walks us through the process of setting up the device, managing its settings from the Home app on his iPhone, and some basics on how to use the device, by voice, touch and from the iPhone.

Is Keychain Necessary?
Ok, so I decided to bite the bullet and get myself a HomePod. Upon reading online, iMore.com says that you should have Keychain enabled when setting up your HomePod. I am just curious to know from others who have one, is Keychain really needed to set a HomePod or can one do it without Keychain?
I don't personally use Keychain and don't have a need to and would rather not use it, but I am curious to know what the purpose of Keychain is for when setting up a HomePod.
I am guessing that it may have to do with when the iPhone is sending your wi-fi password or Apple ID password, but I would have thought that you could perhaps send that information to the speaker without Keychain.
I guess I will just have to try it when I get mine to see if it works without Keychain.
Thanks!
Still loving mine! I might
Still loving mine! I might have to get a second one now that I'll be moving into a bigger apartment.
Is Keychain Needed
Alright, so some places say you need to enable Keychain while others don't mention it at all. I understand that it takes a few seconds to enable Keychain in order to proceed with the HomePod setup, but does Keychain need to remain on or can you turn it off after setting up the HomePod?
