Hi All, does anyone know if there's a jailbreak for iOS 6.0.1 yet or have an approximate timeframe on when one may be out? Also, is there a site that I can check to see when new jailbreaks become available? And finally, which is better to use red snow I think it's called, orAbsienth, and why is one better than the other if one is? Oh, if one wants to reverse a jb, how is it done? Thanks lots, Shane.

Jailbreak for iOS 6.0.1 out? It depends on which device you have. anything iPhone 4s or newer i.e iPad 3, iPad 4, iPad mini, iPhone 5, you're out of luck. however, iPhone 4 or older, there is a jailbreak, but it require you to connect your device every time you have rebooted it or turned it off, and you turn it on again. Tell me if you need more assistance. I don't have any timeframe for when there will be released a jailbreak for newer devices, but I don't think it will be anytime soon. About sites to look at for jailbreak stuf, I use http://www.idownloadblog.com/ there is all kinds of jailbreak guides, how to's, and much more. which is better to use redsnow, or Absinth? again, it depends on which device you have. for anything iPhone 4s or newer, you use absinth if you are on iOS 5.1.1, but on iOS 6 and higher, there is nothing to use, because there is no jailbreak. for iPhone 4 or older, you use redsnow, for a step by step guide, look at the side I have given a link to. for reversing a Jailbreak, you simply restore the device using iTunes. let me know if you need step by step. I hope I have given you the answers you wanted :) if you need more help, just ask.

Hi Shane. Sorry it took me so long to reply, but I haven't had much time lately. I don't know how to use the appleVis contact form thing, so I'll just do it in a comment. as I wrote in my last comment, there is no jailbreak for iPhone 4S or newer, but there is one for older devices. I'll let you know when there is a jailbreak, or you can just look on the website that I gave a link to in my last comment.

I've read on I-Phone Hacks.com that the dev team will release the JB for IOS 6.1 on SuperBowl Sunday, Feb 3rd. That is this sunday.
Hi Shane, Since the long awaited 6.1 has now been released, the jailbreak is coming very soon. If you have been following the jailbreak Hackers on Twitter, it seems that the jailbreak would be released this Sunday or could be earlier, not later, than that day.

Hi Musicruz, So with 6.1 just being released today, there's already a jb for it that will be available Sunday? Is this for 6.1 or 6.01? What's the difference in the two? Is one update a minor, and the other one a major? Also I think I read where if you're gonna jb 6.1, you want to do the upgrade through iTunes and not through over the air. Is this true, and why is this?

Actually, the iOS hackers have been working on the jailbreak for quite a while now, and the only thing that they were waiting for was the release of the 6.1, so it is not surprising that they already have something to jailbreak the 6.1. They just did not release the jailbreak pre-6.1 because the Apple would just patched all the exploits they had found if they prematurely release the jailbreak. In regards with the difference of 6.0.1 and 6.1, 6.0.1, Apple just fixed few important bugs of 6.0 while on 6.1, they added few features: such as now you can purchase movie tickets through Siri and some updates with maps. I could not think all of them on the top of my head, but those are few of them. and of course, They fixed more bugs at this time. If you want to know more details with the bugs that Apple has and has not fixed relating with Voice Over so far, You can go to this post of AppleVis http://applevis.com/blog/advocacy/ios-61-accessibility-bug-list-fixed-not-fixed-and-new-bugs To answer your question about updating through iTunes instead of the Over The Air, One of the iOS hackers suggested to do so due to some technical reason if you want to jailbreak your iDevice. Hopefully, I have answered all your question clearly. If you want you can follow me on Twitter. I Twit alot of jailbreaking stuff over there. Just go to www.twitter.com/musicruz

So Musicruz, can you tell me what the new Maps have in store if I update? And I won't get those if I JB right? I did find that article about upgrading through iTunes if I wanted to Jb. They said you have to create a restore point. What's that, and how do you create it? How do you upgrade through iTunes as I'm used to doing it OTA.

First off, you suppose to have the map since you are on 6.0.1 already. The map does not have any new feature as far as I know. the update is more on improving the map. AS far as updating your phone through iTunes, it is very simple and easy. The biggest concern I always have is backing up your data such as photo, unpurchased music from iTunes and Videos, especially if this is the first time you are going to back up or sync your iPhone to your computer because if you did not do it properly you might lose all of them. However, if you need an assistance how to do it I can talk to you through the process. I would rather it though to be done Via Skype. regards, @Musicruz
