Haptick Time and Additional Voices on Apple Watch

Hi All

I'm very new to posting comments on this website and what a brilliant site it is too.

I have two questions.

How do you contact Apple to submit suggestions for new features on Apple watch?

These are my suggestions and what do people think.

Firstly, haptick time. This is great but only works if voiceover is on.

If I'm in a theatre or cinema etc I turn voiceover off but then I'm unable to know the time.

My suggestion would be to be able to press twice on the crown to receive haptick time feedback.

I must admit sighted people who I have spoken would also like haptick time feedback.

My second suggestion is to change the voiceover voice.

At the moment you can only have the standard voice in your country. We over here have Daniel.

On the watch it sounds like one of those old talking watches.

My watch has 16 gig so I have plenty of space to add another voice.

I am using female siri. Suggest that turning volume down will help.

You can't set a siri voice as your VoiceOver voice on apple watch.

apple watch uses the siri voice that you use in your iPhone. I am using American female voice in my iPhone and works also in my watch 3.

I completely agree that sighted people find haptic time useful. My sighted partner really likes haptic time to the extent that she will activate Voiceover on her watch in certain situations so she can use it. She hates the rest of Voiceover, perhaps not surprisingly, but she would love the haptic time option to exist independently of Voiceover.

Incidentally, why do you turn Voiceover off in a cinema or theatre? You could just turn it down.

With regard to utilizing haptic time in quiet areas... Consider placing your phone into Do Not Disturb, which automatically does the same for the apple watch. SIRI wil nicely turn on Do Not Disturb for you. The haptic time features work just fine. You will just have to tell SIRI to turn it off, once this feature is no longer needed.

Here in the U.S., I use the male SIRI but it doesn't roll over to the watch. Admittedly, unfortunately I am using Watch Zero, the very first one to be released. Perhaps the voices had a problem with this iteration of the watch? Maybe I missed something? Any suggestions?

I am also here in the US and also use the male Siri voice. It definitely does not transfer to voice over. That still uses I believe Samantha. However, in I invoke Siri it does speak in the male voice, as it does on my phone. So no, voice over clearly is not using whatever voice you are using for Siri. Only Siri matches on both your phone and watch.

Upon further reading on whether or not the male SIRI voice can be used on the Watch model zero, it looks like it cannot do that. Although, it does appear that, on Apple Watch Series 3 and later, you can have whichever SIRI voice you have chosen on the iPhone to also work on the watch.

Hi. I'm in the UK and I can confirm that I, at least, cannot use the female siri voice as the Voiceover Voice on my apple watch series 4. However, i do not have my watch mirroring my phone so maybe this is why? I currently hear Daniel UK for Voiceover and it's horrid. However, if I use siri on my watch, i hear the siri female voice which is what I have on my iPhone 8.

I believe that OS 6 will have haptick time without having to have voiceover on. Also I saw a demonstration in youtube OS 6 that Mickey mouse will be out. No longer the M mouse be in the watch.

Hi, There's no need to switch VO off. I do the following: 1. configure my watch with VO, 2. turn off the option to awake my watch when a hand is raised: I turn it off in VO settings and watch settings; 3. turn on haptic time; 4. I have the volume set to 30 or 40% so even if it speaks at the cinema it doesn't disturb anyone. 5. I use haptic time wherever I need it and so far don't have complaints about that. Also I have curtain switched off so no one sees my screen. Hope this is of some help to you. Greetings!

It is not perfect or I am not getting it. When it is 10:00 AM and some minutes, I do the tap but I only get one haptic for 10 and them the long for 10 minutesand short haptic for 1 or 9 minutes. It is not consistent.
