Description of App
ErgData is a free iOS application designed to run on an Apple iPhone or iPod touch. For full use, ErgData requires a connection to a Concept2 Indoor Rower or SkiErg. This may be either a wireless connection to a Concept2 PM5, or an iConnectConcept2 kit (available from Concept2) to connect to a PM3, PM4, or PM5. Once connected, it provides additional rowing statistics, stores and displays your workout results, and uploads your workouts to the Concept2 Online Logbook. It also offers the enhanced visibility of a backlit display.
Requires:
- Concept2 Indoor Rower (any model) or SkiErg with PM3, PM4, or PM5 monitor.
Note: Updating the firmware may be required.
- iPhone 4, 4S, 5, 5C, 5S, 6, or 6 Plus, or an iPod touch 5.
- If using a PM3 or PM4 or PM5, purchase an iConnectConcept2 connection kit: Order part No. 2780 (US $35) from your local Concept2 representative. This includes an interface cable as well as a cradle to hold your iPhone or iPod touch.
Note: iPhone 5, 5s, 5c, 6, 6 Plus, and iPodTouch 5 requires Apple's Lightning to 30-pin adapter to connect to the iConnectConcept2 cable. Purchase genuine Apple adapters, others will not work.
- If using a PM5 with a iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6, or 6 Plus then a connection may be made using Bluetooth Smart instead of a cable. A firmware update to the PM5 is likely required for all Concept2 rowers shipped before Jan 1, 2015.
- Polar BLE Heartrate Belts require iPhone 4S or better, iPad 3rd Gen, iPod Touch 5th Gen, iPad Mini (all) and iOS 6 or higher.

Rowing question
Will this app simuate a race? Can you compete with bots at differing difficulty levels?
Rowing Question
No, it will only read your own personal screen data captured from the Erg display. Note that the Erg display will not show races either.
Great App
Just a short note to echo the comments that this app works well with VoiceOver. During your rowing activity you can use the live announcement of what's happening and then review with VoiceOver after. The app can also upload your rowing details to an online log book. I've very pleased with this app and the entire Concept Rowing process and company. They were great about answering my machine assembly questions.
Note, you do need to tell the rowing machine to connect to your phone. The display on the rowing machine has three buttons along the bottom and five down the right side. To make the connection to your phone, press the right most button from the three on the bottom to bring up the menu. Then press the bottom of the five down the right side for more options from the menu. Then press the middle (third) of the five down the right side) to turn on wireless connection. Have the ErgData app open and you should then connect.
I've had my connection lost a couple times but using this process you can quickly establish it again.
Hi Kelly. Glad you are
Hi Kelly. Glad you are enjoying it, and welcome to ergging. The online C2 community is great, and perhaps I will see you as a training partner one day. Lots of fun challenges and teams.
Hey guys
I am the proud new owner of a concept 2 model D
i love the erg data app, I find the stats and bit difficult to understand with voiceover afterward. I can understand it if I try really hard to pick apart the numbers. But, I was wondering if any of you have tried out any of the other companion apps to the concept 2
I know erg data is their only but there are several other ones geared to the concept 2
tried any of them? Any hints to picking apart the data more efficiently?
Thanks guys
ErgData stats
As you get more familiar with what the numbers mean, it will make more sense. For a start, though, you can turn off the announcement of items that are confusing. You may find that it is easier to understand from your Concept2 log page. Trust me, it will become more familiar with time. As for the other apps, I haven't found any that are accessible. Happy rowing.
Updating Pm5
Hey everybody
Thank you for your previous answer John
I have a question about updating My pm5 and thought I should try posting here. I’m wondering if the process is completely accessible. I have the concepts 2 utility on my computer and it seems fairly accessible. I am wondering when I go through with the update will there be something I need to confirm on the monitor itself When using USB cable to update
Have you had any experience updating? If so is there any steps and one needs to do on the monitor itself
