The version must have been updated. In my app on my iphone 4 all buttons are read with exception to within the store. The buttons read from my left to right as Info Small Button, Settings Small Button, Headphones Small Button and More Button. Headphones Small will switch the track playing from ipPod=iPhone headphone mode tonormal earbud/speaker mode. There is a difference between these two optimization options more to be found on the website about it. More basically goes to the In App store which is self explanatory really. Hope this helps.

Hello I used to love this app but not at the moment. I have about 95 of the tracks which are on my iPod touch 4g which hasn't been updated. I am a total so have to use voice over as a matter of course, like it or not. I have just bought a new iPhone5 which runs IOS6,4, I know to be the latest update prior to IOS7. Well, what have they done... After installing the app you are asked if you are new to Naturespace or not so I tapped no. Then went to the settings only to find that none of the settings I requested actually changed anything. I can no longer get to my rather large library nor download off-line media, whatever that means. All I can successfully do is play the 6 preinstalled tracks. I did write to the developer asking them to indicate which track was playing by saying something like "selected" as it would be easier to find the track to switch it off, and until you do find the exact track you can't switch it off,so change tracks by playing another. Nothing has changed and now this. If you haven't updated it yet, don't... I have written to the developer pointing this out and hopefully something might happen.

I just discovered that this app is now at version 5.1. Here's the list of improvements from the App Store:

Brand new Transitions Wake and Sleep timers allow you to choose an ambience for sleeping in addition to one for waking.

Thunderstorms have synchronized lightning animations and a new "flash screen" mode for use in a dark room for an incredibly realistic experience.

Complete VoiceOver implementation throughout.

All users now have unlimited previews of the entire catalog.

Gorgeous full screen artwork for the entire catalog.

Improved store layout makes it easier to find what you are looking for.

Enhanced control over your in-app purchases and downloads.

If you like using Airplay, you will find the Airplay button under the Console button at the bottom of the screen. It's not very obvious, so I wanted to point that out to people.

Hi everyone! We recently released Naturespace version 5.1 with several added features and improvements, including an improved store layout, unlimited previews, and a redesigned sleep and wake timer.

One of our most significant improvements with this update is the addition of complete VoiceOver compatibility. It's extremely important to us that the app functions well with VoiceOver. Naturespace is a free app available in the iTunes App Store <a href="https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/naturespace-relax-meditate/id312618509?mt=8">here</a&gt;. Please feel free to email us at support@naturespace.com if you have any suggestions for improvement! We monitor the feedback here at AppleVis as well. Thank you!

I was under the impression that it already was completely Voiceover accessible, but it is great to hear that it is from the developer. Great work and great app. Oh, will we be getting any desert sandstorms anytime soon? :)

I've had the Naturespace app since 2010, and it's great to hear of these accessibility improvements.

I have not used nature space for very long, but I am a religious user, and own the entire catalogue. There is nothing like slipping into another world for a time. This is especially useful for getting to sleep, or escaping a while. One question though, is there any chance of an abstract sound dealing with unicorns, mermaids, faeries, etc? I bet a lot of fun sound things could be done there. Either way, great app, and keep up the good work.

There have been times I've seen this, and thought I'd get it. Today, I thought about it and am going to get it. This sounds like fun. Although, if I were to use the sleep/wake, I have an alarm that would wake me up, so how would this differ than the alarm? I need to be up at 6:30 some days, and I can sleep later on on other days. Sounds exciting! Would it work without headphones? Don't want to sleep with bluetooth headphones on.

A lot of the sounds in the Nature Space catalog are optimized for listening via headphones, since you get a true 3D sense of the environment being reproduced. However, some of the sounds, particularly those meant for sleeping, are perfectly suitable on speakers. I recommend against using the built-in speaker, but rather to connect your device to better quality stereo speakers. The sound descriptions in the catalog make it clear which sounds are best suited for speakers and which ones should only be used with headphones.

Personally, I am a light sleeper, and the slightest disturbance during the night will wake me up, so the sounds that work best for me are those that play at a constant level throughout the night. I do not use the sleep/wake timers in the app, because if the sound stops during the night, that is enough of a disturbance to wake me, thus defeating the purpose for which I got the app. My favorite sounds, from the paid catalog, are White Waterfall, Soft Forest Rain, Stargazing, Moonlight, Stream of Consciousness, and Cumulous Aquae. All of these are great on stereo speakers and get me through the night.

Of course, the sounds that work for you will vary depending on your needs. You may find the sounds I listed to be too loud, so a more subtle sound might work better for you. Whether you need the sound to play through the night or just for an hour or so will also vary from person to person. The nice thing about their catalog is that there is a lot of variety in sounds offered, which serve a wide variety of needs.

I do have stereo speakers around, so that isn't an issue. I'll have to definitely play with this when i have more time, but I took a look, and it is definitely something to look at. Thanks.

OK,
Maybe its just me, but I wonder if instead of the downloaded things go in to the one folder, have folders for the various categories such as morning, afternoon, night, and then putting the downloaded items there so we can pick something for the appropriate time of day? Right now, its in one folder, and I know we can create folders, and i assume that we can move these things to their own folder? I baught a couple of tracks today, and everything is in the installed tracks folder.

When I fill my mind saturated with so many things, I can easily disconnect from everything by just listening to one of these wonderful tracks. It helps me to get inspiration for my writing. I also sleep very nicely if I listen to the rain, waves, etc. Thank you, developers, for such an amazing app.

Even using the ear buds that came with my iPhone 8 plus, the sound is amazing. I can't wait for the arrival of my Bluetooth ear buds so that I can enjoy this app wirelessly. I won't have to worry about pulling the iPhone off the nearby table when asleep. I've had the app since Scott did his podcast. Thanks, Scott, for a super recommendation.

I wish you could cast with it to a Chromecast device, but if that's the only complaint I can think of I am extremely happy!

Goodmorning! Could you translate the app also in italian? Thanks!

By Roxann Pollard on Thursday, January 24, 2019 - 18:10

I have been using this app for more than two years now. I find that the soundscapes are so well done that I don't feel like I'm using an app but I have been dropped into the natural places in which the sounds were created. Thanks to the developers for an absolutely amazing app.

I only have one wish. I would like to be able to create folders and group sounds into them so that I can create my own playlists.

Keep up the great work!

Could anyone please tell me where I should go to adjust the sound settings so that it fits well to my airpods earphones? Thank you!

By mendi on Thursday, January 24, 2019 - 18:10

If you go to the console tab, there is a switch to turn on and off earbud optimization.
