I'm sorry if I create the topic in wrong place but I'm curious
Is Black Mirror Bandersnatch accessible? As I know, it's the interactive version of the serie Black Mirror. You watch it and you choose what happens next. My friends say it's available in Netflix but I'm not sure if it's accessible or not

Hi, Happy Holidays ☺️

I have watched this edition of Black Mirror on Netflix, and I can confirm that the choices do not work with VoiceOver on iOS.
However, if you start the episode and do not make choices, the episode will continue with the story with audio description.

If you want to be able to make the choices while watching, I have read that the choices are accessible if you use Chrome.

Hope this helps,
Niall

Hi,
When using the Netflix app, the choices can be accessed by touching the screen in the very moment the option appears. They show up as two unlabeled buttons after the forward ten seconds button. No worries, there’s time limit but it should be enough.
With audio descriptions you should know when to make a decision.

So far the best way I've found to watch Bandersnatch and make choices is Chrome on PC. I had mixed results with the whole "possible text" thing. The sound effects do kind of tell you when to move though, as there's a certain deep swirling sound that happens when a choice pops up. As long as that sound is running you still have time to make a choice. Also, there's flashback spots where you can go back and change if you didn't like what happened on your last choice, or if you just want to see what would happen if you went the other way.

It would be a good thing if everyone interested contacted Netflix and asked to make the interactive shows accessible. I will do so, and more of us do it we have more of a chance that they will work on that.

I’m afraid it is as accessible as it can be

This is an interesting thing Netflix is trying, first with Minecraft: Story Mode and now withg Black Mirror. I like it, personally. I can confirm that to a degree the choices are accessible, but only if Voiceover decides to read "Possible text". The problem is this behavior is sporatic, at least it is to me, and sometimes you have to select a couple times to get it to do it. Given that these choices usually have a time limit, it can be a little frustrating. Since the buttons are selectable with voiceover though it shows that it can be done, we just need to let Netflix know it would be helpful I suppose. The irony is the show itself does have audio description, as did Minecraft: Story Mode. They even describe what's going on when the choices come up. They do not however describe the choices themselves.

Hi,

I‘ve tweeted with the official Netflix customer service and i noticed them that the features on Blackmirror Bandersnatch is until yet with Voiceover not accessible. I asked them, does exist any plan to fix it?
This was their response:

“No word on that right now. But thank you for letting us know you'd like that! We are always trying to improve the service.“
