What speaker devices do you use for audio?

At home I use the Denon Envaya 250bt speaker. It has quite good sound and is portable in case you want to take it outside.

I used to stream Pandora from my iPhone via bluetooth to my home receiver hooked up to my stereo system.

Although this worked fairly well, I had two issues:

1. Occasionally the stream would just stop. don't know why.
2. The battery drain on my iPhone was unacceptable.

Now I hav an Amazon Echo and use that to stream via bluetooth to my home stereo!

Anything by Bose and JBL is relatively solid. I have a Flip series speaker from JBL and several Bose head phones. Both of these companies land in the higher end audio category so they are going to have a higher price point.

I either use Sonos or I cast from my phone when possible. I am not a fan of Airplay since it makes continuous use of your phone unlike the two previously mentioned options.

I use the Bose soundware and also the QC35 headphones. I also have a Sonos 1 with Alexa but find myself sticking more to the headphones and personal devices more.

I use this for a home speaker. It’s a heavy one but sound great. It has am/fm radio, noah weather radio, voice prompt, and adjustable light, treble, and bass.w

I have 5 or 6 Bluetooth speakers and a Chromecast Audio. I prefer Chromecast because it extends as far as your Wireless network. I have a couple of Doctor Who speakers that honestly don't sound that great, a Google Home mini, a Wonderboom, the Easy ACC Olive, and an Amazon Echo. All of these act as Bluetooth speakers, with the Google Home also acting as a Chromecast receiver.

I use Echo for all that. I just hook up my ipad to her via bluetooth. You'll have to set it up by saying `alexa pair` and then going into your settings, choosing Echofhk, and double tap it. After that all you need to say is `alexa connect` She'll say searching then now connected to for example: `now connected to Dawn's ipad` and `now disconnected from Dawn's ipad`
And just say `alexa disconect` when you're done.

I mainly use a set of Alltech-Lansing sp? speakers that were given to me by a former tutor a couple years ago, and they sound very good. Then my brother gave me a Sharkk blue-tooth speaker for Christmas about 2 years ago. Unfortunately though, that only lasted a few days. I was taking it around my apartment one Saturday morning just to see how far it would go and things like that, and then I took it outside a bit both through the back and front. But it stopped all of a sudden and has never worked since. We were going to try and get it looked at, but somehow never got around to that. But perhaps it just needs to be charged overnight or something. The sound quality was fantastic though, and the speaker supposedly has spoken prompts although I never found where to enable them. It also has some tactile buttons on the top surface, which control playback. But I also just use my MBA's internal sound source. I have found that to be quite good. I've messed around with the equalizer in iTunes a bit, and it seems very good too. I haven't played much audio on my iPhone yet other than that provided by some 3rd-party apps I have, and of course VoiceOver itself. But the device has excellent sound quality.

When listening to music, I hard wire an iPod to a custom built tube preamp, that drives a racked pro audio system.

I find the sound degradation created by streaming to be noticeable, and prefer to go "straight in." I currently use Tango Remote to remotely control the iPodfrom my phone, but, since that software has been orphaned, I am looking for an alternative.
