Publishing to Youtube in iOS 12

Hi all,

As recently as iOS 11, if I wanted to publish a video to Youtube, all I had to do was select a video in my photos app, hit "Share" and select the "Publish to Youtube" option. I just tried to do this while running iOS 12, and the option in question doesn't seem to be there. Does anyone know if this is in fact a feature that has been lost in iOS 12? If so, does anyone know of another easy way to publish a video to Youtube?

I spoke with Apple Tech Support last week about this issue. Here's how you do it with IOS 12. When you first open YouTube, after you sign in, loo for a button that says "video." Click on that. For a first time, Youtube will need your permission to access your camera roll and microphone. After this, you can go through your camera roll and select a video to publish. Once you select the video, you can go through and title it and give it a description. Then publish. I hope this helps.

Interesting, so those permissions don't carry over from iOS 11? Good to know. Thanks!

I've discovered the same problem, updated to iOS 12 yesterday, and now I can't upload videos to YouTube from my camera roll in Photos - something I was doing almost every day, so very frustrating. Yes, it's possible to use the 'work around' of launching the YouTube app, and then selecting the video from there, but the interface isn't as easy to use and so its a slower process. A real step backwards. Can't understand why this option has been deleted, whereas other options like Twitter & Facebook etc still exist.

is there not a way to add tags to your videos when publishing?

Yes you can. I uploaded a video not too long ago and Iwas able to use tags when uploading through the Youtube app.
