Hello everyone
my name is Fernando. I am posting this thread to alert everyone about all the great games this community is losing.
It all started with solara being removed.
The SomethingElse games soon followed. those were good games.
Then we lost a ton of games in 2017 when we had to update to iOS 11. a lot of games were lost.
but even after the 2017 app purge star traders still remained playable.. but now it also has been removed. Trese Brothers, the people who made star traders are still on the App Store so it’s not a developer shut down and the games are still available it’s just star traders RPG and star traders elite that are gone.
it is a sad day as we mourn the loss of one of our favorite games.
The point of this post was to notify you about other good games we are losing. Please let’s not lose anymore games.
Thanks for reading this incredibly long post.

I still have both versions of star traders on my phone, so I guess I won't be removing them any time soon. Since, as you say they're still in the app store. But its been a while since loading them.
Here's hoping they still work! Thanks for the heads up on this.

The games still work because they are off-line and do not require an Internet connection to play the games. Just don’t delete them anytime soon otherwise you won’t be able to get them back. There are other games called Star Traders 4X empires that has nothing to do with Star Traders RPG star traders 4X empires is not accessible so don’t buy that. remember we’re talking about star traders RPG.
I do not know why TRESE brothers removed star traders RPG from the App Store because they are still on the App Store when I say they I mean the developer is still on the App Store but the games are not

Honestly, I cannot think of another reason as to why they would remove the game from the App Store.
It was a really fun game. Very enjoyable.
I am sad to see it go.
I will be getting a new phone soon and I am afraid I won't be able to transfer this game to my new phone. That's the same way I lost Papa Sangre I. and II., Audio Defense, The Knightjar, Solara, ETC.
Truly, I miss those games.
Cheers.

hello every one. as you know, I am a big audio games fan. I bought my iPhone just last year, and I couldn't play audio defense, and night jar. wen I see the videos of those games, I think that I wish I could play those great games again. I don't know about other people, but I am raddy to pay the developers.

I enjoyed the audio defense and the rest of them something fierce, but then losing Salara was another shocker, and I nearly gave up on IOS gaming.
But one, at least in my case don't just give up on quality games on IOS, untill they're ripped away from my cold dead prying hands. rofl
thanks Treats bros! :(

It’s only a matter of time until we lose king of dragon past or the inQuisitor audio game series or the a dark room series

I just got a new iPhone 8 plus about two weeks ago. I was happily surprised that all of my custom ring tones transferred to the new device in spite of iTunes no longer working with tones and apps. Anyway, in looking through my games folder, I saw that The Night Jar and all of the other Something Else Games were still being shown as "in Icloud." I double tapped on one of them, thinking it would redownload to my device, but was told that the app was no longer available in the app store. I was then offered the choices of keep and remove. Obviously, I would have wanted to keep the games, but since I couldn't immediately determin a way of getting them back onto my device, I reluctantly chose the remove option. I didn't really play the games that often, but I truly liked them when I did play, and it was somehow nice to know that they were there if the urge struck to attempt playing them. I especially mourn the loss of The Night Jar and Papa Sangre 2; both of those had exceptionally phenominal voice talent, and it makes me a bit sad to think that I'll never be able to enjoy them again. I'm not sure if there is anything I could have done differently, but am kicking myself for not making a bit more of an effort to investigate my options. I still miss solara a lot, even though that game has been gone for quite a while now. I put a lot of real money into it, and it was probably my all-time favorite iPhone game. Thanks for the heads-up regarding the star trader game; it's not one I grew fond of, but I'll be sure to keep it around now that I know that it won't be possible to get it back.

Why don’t we trying to contact the developer and see if something can be done about these games?
I’m sure they’re going to remain in the App Store if they get updated for iOS 12.

Yes I am totally agree with you. We should try to contact the developer of those games. We can do something if we make a request. Thanks.

The email address that was provided on the game is no longer active that means they cut off all contact with everyone. I don’t think that we will see these games back on the App Store anytime soon but we can still hope

So it’s not all lost. If you had previously deleted the game you could go to your purchase history and search for the game. It will show up in your purchase history and you can re-download it although you will lose all your progress. Can’t wait for star traders frontiers! I heard there’s about 1 million new classes in factions in that game can’t wait till it hits the iOS App Store hopefully it will be voiceover accessible. Although if it follows kind of the exact format as the Star Traders RPG, with only text and images then I have my hopes up. In the meantime go ahead and re-download Star Traders rPG from your purchased history. You can all go back to commanding your starships as normal

Too bad, if it's indie game probably it's because of maintaining the game cost a lot of time porting it to the new updates make the author take it down and if not another reason could be that there are a few users left which doesn't make a profit at all and more cost on the maintaining the game the cloud, server, etc. Some IOS update make the game don't function at all these things, now a days it's hard to be hook on a game which you will really like, probably are it will be dead in a matter of months.
