I'm new to this forum, but I've been a Mac user since 2009 when I bought a then new white MacBook from the same year. As far as software goes, I took it as far as Mavericks. I'm not able to constantly buy new Mac toys, so that's why it took me till now to take the plunge and buy a used 2015 MacBook Pro, which seems to be working fine so far. I'mcurrently running Mojave.
I guess I'm just curious as to when the VoiceOver Quick Start tutorial disappeared from MacOS. I tried the familiar command while VO was activated, and nothing happened. Was it moved, replaced, or eliminated altogether? Thank you all.

Still Seems to Be There But...
This guide still seems to be there for me. I have a mid-2013 MacBook Air and just updated to OS Mojave 10.14.1 overnight. The command to start the guide worked fine just a minute ago. I don't know why it's missing from VoiceOver help though. Perhaps this is a minor bug? It's rather interesting.
Are you using the ctrl+optn+command+f8?
That's what I'm doing, of course after activating VO (command+f5), and nothing happens for me.
The command works for me too.
The command works for me too. If it isn't working for you, you may want to check your keyboard settings. Go to System Preferences > keyboard and under the keyboard tab, make sure, "Use F1, F2, etc. keys as standard function keys," is selected." If it isn't, select it and the command should work.
