Description of App
Blindfold Doggy is a fully accessible dog ownership simulation game, for both sighted and visually impaired people, designed for rapid audio play. The object of the game is care for your dog: the better you care for your dog, the more points you'll score.
After learning the sounds your dog makes when he needs something, you must take care of your dog: feed him, walk him, give him water, brush him and play with him.
For example, to walk your dog, put on his collar and leash, open the door and start walking: swipe down with one finger. Each down swipe takes you one step further from home. Each up swipe takes you one step closer to home. When you leave the house for a walk, the front door automatically closes behind you. To go back inside, walk back to the door and open it. Make sure you close the door, or your dog may run away.
Once you've mastered taking care of one dog, try taking care of two. It's much harder!
Then try the adventure game - go shopping for new toys and food, and take your dog to the veterinarian for routine checkups.
The game comes with limited play before you run out of food. To get unlimited play, or other options, use the in-app upgrades.

thanks
My dog is trained now so yay! This is awesome.
response
i named my game dog rocky:) love the sounds you hear for different events:)
Swimming and fighting?
Do you get to swim and fight in the adventure game?
Just don’t use leash
I got annoyed with the leash bugs, so I don’t even use the leash. The game still let you walk your dog regardless if the leash is on or not.
Swimming and fighting
You will need to have the leash on, then whistle go play in the park. Next you need to walk further away from home and hope your dog is in a swim/fight mood. I'm on adventure. This should be leash off activities, but due to bugs, leash must be on.
Is this a bug?
When my dog needs to play, it seems like feeding or taking him outside will reset that need.
That's happened to me, too.
That's happened to me, too. In fact, it seems pretty consistent.
And the problem where if you take the dog out immediately after feeding, he'll do his thing, but then he'll have to go right away again, but that only shows up when you get back inside. But then if you take him out the second time, he won't go until you get back home. It's as though lines are getting crossed as to whether the dog went or not. Maybe similar to the leash issue where the dog runs away because the leash is supposedly still on when you know you took it off, and you have the status reporting it correctly but the game behaving otherwise. Unless it has something to do with location. Like, the leash doesn't register as being removed if you do it at home. Though it just seems intuitive to put a leash on and remove it after getting back inside. At least, before the dog is trained.
Trained/untrained
With all these existing bugs, trained/untrained makes no difference.
Won't get this
I'm sorry, but I won't get this game, the price is just to steep for me to justify getting a pet simulation game and Martys excuse that the game was in development a bit longer than the other games which justifies the price is just laughable. It's just another rippoff, I am wondering what apple accessibility thinks about that.
I have enough reason to believe that you're outnumbered.
Those in favor of these games always have and always will find ways to get them. You wanna cry over 9 bucks? Come to South Africa so we can hear your comments on 168.
well
Well, we all know that Marty is pritty much the only one producing games for the blind in larger quantity, so because there are actually no alternative games available, he pritty much has the market for him self.
And yeah, I visited south affrica buddy, pritty nice place, at leased where I have been.
And why would I discuss that? I am living here, not there. In case your comment was some sort of atempt to shut me up, well, try again next time. Go and give the pg13 stream of the blindfold games a listen, they pritty much summ it up.
Thanks for your comment
Mority - I appreciate your comments. I disappointed that you see no value in how I spend my time. The price is based on how long something takes to create, and how many people will enjoy what I've spent time building. Only vision impaired people enjoy Blindfold Games. That's far less than one-tenth of one percent of the people who play most mobile games.
Please feel free to contact Apple about your opinions.
My thoughts
Here is the deal, I used to be one of the beta testers for kid friendly software. I couldn’t do it because I got a job. But I am still a part of the emails that the developer sends out so I can definitely say this game was in beta testing for quite a while. This developer has made so many games and for people to complain is really sad. I think our opinions matter, but also I think developers need encouragement as well. There are so many directions this developer can take this game and I figure if we are encouraging he might want to do that, but if we are not he might not.
Competition
You’re right, Marty is the only one who has made so many games. He’s not the only one to make games for blind people but that’s not what you said and I understand that. However, if you’re so upset that he’s the only one in town put your money where your mouth is be a competitor.
Seriously
I am getting fed up with people making this kind of thread into complaining about the price. Morot, if you think it is too expensive, just don't buy it. It's as simple as that! Nothing gets better just because you reek all of your stuff on these threads.
A workaround for random pee moments
When your dog wants to random pee, just take him outside and give water 5 times while outside. Next just walk a few steps away from home until they pee, then come back home. Random poop is a bit tricky. Still trying to wrap my brain for that one.
Great game
Ok. So i just want to say. I love this game!!!!! I have 3 dogs in real life and now a new 1 on this app haha. When these dogs sleep on the app they sound like my puppy when she sleeps. Lol. My dogs name on this game is Star. Great job and great game.
keyboard support?
I know there is keyboard support for many of your games but I wonder if you could add that to this one too?
Can't wait for the fix
As soon as it's out, i'm starting a new game. I hope to see it soon.
I'm actually not playing at
I'm actually not playing at the moment. When the new release comes out, I plan to just start a new game. I have the game on pause now so I don't get notifications.
As for keyboard support, I saw a setting for it. I haven't experimented with it, but I don't see why it wouldn't work.
IPad
The reason why I ask, and it doesn't work, is because I messed up my phone yesterday. I play pyramid tiles on my iPad using a bluetooth keyboard and this is why I wonder if there could be keyboard support.

So what you are effectively saying is that one hasn't anything to say which is against the product sold he should just leave it alone?
This is exactly the mentality which I find so disturbing the last few years, everyone goes, if you don't have anything to say, go shut up and leave all those comments which are positive.
if you put out a product or any form of entertainment for a certain group of audience, you are to receive more than just sugarcoating, when legitimate critics like the pricing model are or can be an issue.
You don't need to be an expert programmer to be in a position to critisize a game or a market, just like you don't need to be a 5 star sheff to say that a meal is god awfull.
Visually impaired people
Visually impaired people complain so much about prices of games. It's unbelievable. Sighted people have to pay good money for most mobile games they like. Most are full of microtransactions and the like. Why should it be any different for us? Why do some of us feel like they don't want to support the developers who keep putting out a product? Nobody owes us anything. I shouldn't have to shoulder your burden as well as mine. Just because you don't work, or don't make a lot of money doesn't mean treat people like garbage. We've turned a couple of developers away because some of us are just way too high maintanance. Instead of giving a pointless complaint, why don't you give actual advice? Tell them how they could make there apps better instead of bickering on the internet about the price of a quality app.
Yeah, but sighted people have
Yeah, but sighted people have thousands of games on the app store to choose from. Don't like one for either it's gameplay or use of microtransactions? download/buy another one. I can see both sides on the price of games. When I was a kid and there was a Nintendo game I wanted to try first, I'd pay $2 or $3 (the same amount as some of these inapp purchases) to rent it for 2 or 3 days. So that makes it sound like inapp purchases are a steal. However, it's the 2010’s and the market has spoken. For whatever reason, people in general would rather pay 3 bucks for a cup of coffee, but don't want to pay that up front for apps on their phone. Some games are starting to go back the other way, but for the most part microtransactions have won. It's like they're the new quarter munching arcade games.
New version
It's out but there are still some leash problems. I am looking into those.
Please be patient.
Some fixes and bugs
You can now put on leash without worrying that your dog will run away. Dog no longer seems to enter the run away loop, it only runs off once which is good. Come here, sit and go play still works with leash on. You need to whistle sit before removing leash, otherwise your dog runs away. Some issues i discovered is that taking the dog out will still reset its playing needs. The game now reports accurately on toys, however the 3 finger tap and swipe still have different kibble reports. That's all i have for now. Keep up the good work and thanks.
Thanks for adding the
Thanks for adding the notification sound. I haven't yet had the chance to test it. I just started a new game. But it'll be good to know that my dog needs me more easily. If notifications are silent, I sometimes just ignore them, because silent notifications usually are information only. No need to act on them.
I saw there were some additions to the documentation. Helpful.
My status says I have forty-five servings of food but the three-finger tap says I have thirty. Eh. Presumably the three-finger tap is more accurate now. Haha.
Yay for some fixed leash bugs. The running away thing was particularly problematic.
Settings has some new options. Like initial food supply in Adventure game.
Accurate toy use counts, as already stated. Wonderful.
Things are improving nicely. Your hard work bug hunting/killing is much appreciated.
Edit: Corrected the initial food amounts I said I had. In the Adventure game, it's different from the Simple game, presumably because in the Simple game, quantities don't matter.
Thoughts
Here is my two cents. Nice game. Good job fixing bugs. I actually feel like I’m taking care of a real dog. Please put out more games like this.
3 finger tap
Are you saying the 3 finger tap and the 3 finger swipe are reporting different food quantities?
Yes. At the end of the list
Yes. At the end of the list of things my dog needs, that Kibble amount is different from the separate status on number of food and toy uses remaining.
The podcast is needed
I downloaded this game and started trying to play practice mode. But I cannot understand how to play. Please make a podcast if it is possible.
You could perhaps set the
You could perhaps set the game to always provide explanations. I think this gives instructions on how to activate commands and what the various barks and whines mean. Basically, you just flick left and right and go through a menu of various activities to care for the dog. If you want to feed, tap on the "Food" option, etc.
My dog is currently below a hundred points, but he responds when I tell him to sit so I can remove the leash when outside. Not sure if this is supposed to be the case or not. Certainly makes things easier for it to work like this. But if the dog obeys commands regardless of training, then training would need some other benefit. Maybe double the points or something? So actions would gain two points instead of one?
Here's something odd that happened. I paused the game to go check settings for my dog. When I resumed it via the Resume button, the need to visit the vet got reset. Also, the need to play disappeared because I took my dog out to answer nature's call. Oh, speaking of...Before I paused the game, the status said my dog wouldn't need food for several hours. But when I resumed the game, he was suddenly starving.
Confused
Please send me an email from the game with any issues, and let me know if you are using the version that was released in the last 2 days. I think its version 1.5.0
Changes in next version 1.5.3 - coming soon
Fixed some problems relating to whistle when leash was on.
Fixed bug where putting leash back on before going out caused a problem.
When you whistle come, both dogs will come back.
3 finger swipe down and 3 finger tap should have now have the same quantities for food and toy usage. You may need to restart the game for this fix.
scoring
I see a high score thingy in the main menu but don't know how it works.
a request
I may have asked this but do you think you could add keyboard feature like many other games?
Teching my dog new commands?
My dog has over 100 points. How do I teach him a new command?
TrainEd dog bug
Hi all. I just downloaded the game and bought all the upgrades. I am playing the adveNtur to game version.
I have 170 points right now.
In order to bypass the lease bug, I kept playing without using the lease at all. So, the problem I’m having is that even though I’m over 100 points, my dog doesn’t respond to that whistle commands. He will not sit down for example.
I am running latest available version, which is 1.5. Anyone else is having the same issue? Being over hundred points and their dog not listening to that whistle commands? Just to clarify, I am trying the commands outside. Both in the park and in the river. I am going to try to use the leaves at home after I have played and fed my dog, and see what happens.
I’m sure all those bags will be fixed soon. I really love the game, very good job. Keep it up!
Nick
New commands
There are no new commands. It's just a matter of how much your dog can be trusted. With the leash bugs, there is no difference between a trained and untrained dog. They both behave the same.
leash
For some reason you can only whistle to your dog and get responce when the leash is on. It is due to a bug. You have to put it on in the house and then you need to be quick and go outside. Go to the park or river and whistle go play. He might want to fight or swim, if you are lucky.
weird things with this app
Okay so guys, I'm having a weird issue with this app.
Let me try an explain the best I can.
If I swipe down with three fingers, it gives me the latest things about my dog. Like if it needs to eat, drink water, so on and so forth. if I see, that he needs to pee now, I'll take him out, he'll be and I'll come back home.
Now, the percentage that he needs to pee is zero. however, not too long after, he'll bark and the thing will say he needs to pee. But if I do a three finger swipe down, it's still at zero percent. However, the dog ends up going anyways. So am I not supposed to preemptively do what it says he needs when I swipe down?
Also, I'm playing the practice game, but it won't send me notifications when the dog needs something. However, in my settings, notifications are on, and I have allowed them.
Help?
Same here
I have the same problem with Medusa. It shows she doesn't need to pee and then I wait in her app and then she pees on the floor. Nasty. I think the pooper scooper (that's a funny name) should be used at home too. I love the new alert sound. It is great because then I am sure to actually hear it. Okay, going to take Medusa for a walk.
Walking?
Hey all, so I have a question, what are you walk either to the park or the river or in town how many steps do you walk? This is basically my first real virtual pet game. So I’m kind of new but it’s fun. It’s what I’ve always wanted.
That peeing problem is still
That peeing problem is still there? I don't seem to be getting it anymore. And I've preemptively taken my dog out several times now. But then, I did also uninstall and reinstall.
I've run into another problem, though. I spent coins to buy food and pay the vet, but I'm not earning any new coins. This is going to be a really short game if I can't replenish my money. I'm earning points with my dog just fine, but coins aren't being earned along with them.
Lelia, I don't walk far. Just until he needs to be brushed. Forces me to go home because he can't be brushed outside for some reason.
Coins
Every time you do a correct task, you should get both coins and points.
When you hear a ding, that means you've earned coins and points.
Shake the phone if you think you should have earned a point and a coin, but didn't.
Then email me from the game.
Peeing problem
I am working on this in the beta version. Once its fixed, I will release a new version to the app store.
leash problem and I refuse to play
I tried the game yesterday, only to get up to 20 or more points, and then put the leash on to go outside, (seemed sensible to me), and then lose all my points because supposedly I didn't take it off, and my dog is annoyed with me. How can you ever get a dog to trained status if you can't work up to enough points, because just when you start, the points disappear when you did nothing wrong? And yes, I know, you can play without the leash, but then you can't really do all of the activities, as things like the whistle commands don't work without the leash. If I'm going to drop money on a game, I at least expect it to be able to be played as intended. As it is though, I find it entirely too demanding and definitely not something you can play too seriously if you have a job, as your dog seems to need attention every 20 minutes. Not realistic unless you're staying at home.
Not complaining, just putting in my two cents for whatever it's worth.
To those playing the game, hope you're enjoying your virtual furry friends.
A few bugs
yeah, I'm getting the leash issue too.
Not sure what to do about it, because it causes an infinite loop. It says you never took off the leash, so you go to take it off, only it isn't on to begin with, so it beeps at you. so you go to put it on, but it says you never took it off, and it causes an infinite loop where the end result is you can't go out, and you essentially lose all your points.
to the person before me, I think you can adjust how often your dog needs attention.
Needing attention every 20 minutes
While your dog may want to play every 20 minutes, that doesn't mean you have to. You won't lose points if you don't. However, feeding and walking, which occurs every 4 hours or so, is required to not lose points. People should let me know if they want changes in this area.
Bluetooth
It should support the keyboard in the same way as pyramid tiles.
Refer to the common features guide for a list of keys that match certain gestures.
