Hi! I was wondering what apps are safe to scan information you don't want anybody to see? For example credit card bills. I don't want anyone to see my credit card number. I have seeing AI and prizmo go. are they acceptable? Thanks

I refrained from commenting since I figured more knowledgeable people than I might do so, but since they haven't ...

Look for any scanning app with offline capabilities. Seeing AI for instance needs to access the internet, so it is not your best option for that. to scan. KNFB reader even with all its faults Scans entirely offline as far as I know. Prismo Go I believe does have an offline mode. So I am pretty sure does Envision. Hopefully you get a second opinion.

I tried knfb on a credit card itself, and it didn't work. Luckily all my billing is online so I have no idea if it would work on statements, but i've read complex books with it and it works.

Thank you Remy and Techluver for the info.Built in capabilities means no one can see. I checked Prizmo Go and it has a built in option.Incidentally, It is my only option as I don't have a subscription or have bought any in app purchases.

I can almost confirm that seeing AI can read without the internet. I once read the airplane entertainment system with it. Could someone replicate anything on airplane mode perhaps?
Now, what I don't know is if this information would be transmitted once it got hold of data again, even if you close the app first. I don't see how though, if you use the short text option.

Envision AI will scan in its Read Text Instantly feature off-line. It does an excellent job too!

Prizmo Go will scan off-line too make sure under settings that cloud-based recognition is not selected.
