Accessibility Comments

This app is not accessible. There are 3 elements that VoiceOver sees. A Background content view, a content view, and a "experience with Boom". None of these do useful things when activated, like opening another menu. For an app which was shown off by Apple, it is definitely not accessible.

VoiceOver Performance

VoiceOver reads a few page elements.

Button Labeling

No buttons are clearly labeled.

Usability

Some parts of the app are accessible with VoiceOver, but not enough to make it usable.

Other Comments

I've used this app for a while now on the Mac, and was hoping to do so on my iPhone as well. The app works well on the Mac though.

They know very well their application is not accessible on the iPhone. They’ve even admitted so on the emails but now they do not answer. They’re aware of the bad accessibility and do not want to change unfortunately. I say this because the application is actually incredibly fun and really good!

How can you do this? I was all excited, I mean, I was hyperventilating. Music is capable of producing euphoria, and blind folks who can't afford to go out to a bigname concert or the theater, (or, if said blind person has other disabilities, making going out more challenging or impossible), being immersed in a theater- or concert-hall experience would have been just what the doctor ordered.
How can you tantalize people like that? Tell us about an app that'll practically transport us in time and space, and then I find out it's not bloody accessible! What the heck?

@MissThea you might try playing with an app called LiveTunes Concert Simulator. If you search for LiveTunes on Applevis, you should find the entry and the download link from iTunes. I don't think it will play songs in Apple Music yet, as they are protected files, but if you have your own music, it should let you play songs from your library. It is a superb app for simulating concerts and might be something you enjoy.

Does it work with Spotify? See, I was hoping to really get an almost holodeck-like virtual night out, and Boom really got me excited. Honestly, I wish they wouldn't post things unless they're accessible. Don't mine me, I'm just irritable. That's what happens when I get excited, only to be disappointed. It's nothing that rubbing my face in Theta's fur won't solve. Theta's my cat. She's super silky smooth and sleeky soft. Her fur is to die for, and so is her purr.
Or since they do offer a seven-day free trial, I suppose I could check it out, and see if I can manage, despite the company's egregious oversight. Not that I'll buy it. It's household policy with me: I only spend money on companies that take the trouble to produce accessible stuff.
