Quick way to take notes?

Hey :) How do you guys take notes when it needs to be quick (the equivalent of taking out a pen and a notepad?) I'm thinking of situations like when you need to get someone's phone number but don't have much time or your boss throws something at you as they're walking away.

I find that typing on my phone is too slow in these situations, and having something like a Braille Note doesn't fit in a purse.

Thanks :)

1. Dictate your note using Siri.
2. Get the FlickType keyboard.

I keep Drafts in my dock, and I can be ready to take a note with just one tap.

I endorse both of these. Drafts and Flicktype together are the way to go. Dictating usually isn't that great because it's socially inappropriate to dictate in many situations where you'd want to take notes.

If your a braille writer, you could try using braille screen input. It will definitely take some practice, but once you master it, it is a very efficient way to take notes on the fly.

A second vote for Braille Screen Input or MBraille here. You can achieve excellent typing speed with an on screen braille keyboard

The MBraille app is great for this. You can quickly write a note, then type save and give it a name. You can then easily access your note from MBraille or have it synced to your dropbox bolder to read on a computer at a later time.

For that situation, my very quick thing that pops up in my mind is Just Press Record, magic tap are on the go moves when there is a such quick action. So my best friend is Just Press Record. hth!

Maybe you can dictate in drafts. Open the app, doubre tap the dictate button, jot down whatever you need to, double tap the button again, and you've done! Or you can just say: `Siri, note (insert note)

The problem with dictation is that you may be in a situation where dictating to your phone is not practical. For example, if you are in a meeting and taking down a quick note for later, dictating to your phone might be considered rude. Also, i have found dictation tends not to work well if you are in a noisy environment.

Yes, in most or many work situations taking dictation is impractical. I generally just use my laptop in meetings, but again, depending on the culture, it may not be appropiate to use a laptop in a given meeting. Luckily my current work is very laptop-oriented, but I was recently in a meeting where everyone else way using pen and paper like the bad old days.

I'm finding Flicktype to be a tolerable substitute for typing recently, but I'm often jealousof colleagues who can use pen and paper in a pinch.
