I have an iPhone 10 question
With my iPhone 7 I would periodically clear the ram/memory from the main screen I would hold the power button till the shutdown screen appeared then hold the home Butten till it made a noise and returned the focus to the main screen of apps. I haven’t been able to figure out how to do this with my iPhone 10. Does anyone have experience with this?

I've been wondering this myself, more for curiosity sake, because I don't have an iPhone x, so I googled it.

All my findings say to press the volume up button, followed by the volume down button, then hold down the side button, until you get the power off screen.

You can also go to settings general and go right down to shut down to get to the same screen.

Now, here's where it gets tricky.

Because there is no home button, they recommend you use assisstive touch to do the home button part of this command, in other words, you need to turn on assistive touch first.

You can do it by going to settings general accessibility assistive touch, or, just ask Siri to turn it on.

Now the question is, how does a voiceover user use assistive touch to press the home button?

I've been trying to use it to press a virtual home button, but so far I haven't had any luck.

I'm trying to look ahead because I know eventually, iOS devices aren't going to come with the home button.

I'm wondering if you can do the gesture for home, but instead of lifting your finger, just leave it there until the home screen returnes?

The easiest way is to press volume up, followed by volume down, and press power button for about twenty seconds.
This can take a couple of tries to get the hang of it. Also, make sure to press the correct volume keys. They are also used to activate SOS. If you activate it, you have a few seconds to cancel.... Just a heads up!

I know you simulate a home press with an iPhone X by putting your finger on the bottom edge of the phone and dragging up til you feel a haptek. Maybe that would help.

I've disabled the emergency SOS feature. It's still there, you just have to hit the Emergency SOS button to activate that feature instead of auto activate like it used to do when the phone was first gotten.

hi,
i tested refreshing the ram on my iphone 8 by turning on assistive touch by doing the following and it worked;
1 turn on assistive touch in accessibility settings;
2 then go to settings/general and tap on shutdown at the very bottom;
3 when you hear voiceover say swipe to turn off, look for the assistive menu and double tap on the virtual home button,
i tried it and it worked, i was returned to the home screen,
thanks
