Hello
I am impressed with the two new Siri South-African English voices. They are crystal clear and exactly what I want using such a voice. I currently use the female voicewith VoiceOver and wondered when these voices will become available within Siri itself? I also discovered the mail voice pronounces the letter C as a D and the letters D, B V and P all sound like a letter D while typing in any edit field. Apart from this, especially the female voice is in my humble opinion one of the best voices ever createde. Congratulations.

love them
I discovered this a few days ago and am also using the female voice because it has a similar accent as my swedish accent.
This is incredible. It is as you said crystal clear. The accent is perfect.
Irish Voices
The new Irish voices are very well done too!
i don't see these
hi i don't see these? in the siri voice i only see the accents to hear as australian, british english and us. how do i find these? can i still leave siri set to uk english as my language and use the new south african voice to respond to me? do they have an irish male voice?
found them
i've found them so can they not be used then as siri voices? i guess not as siri doei not support these dialects, irish and african?
I think they can
Hey there! So I just checked the Siri settings, and "English (Ireland)" and "English (South Africa) are all there, and voices are also available.
And, one more thing. I redownloaded the US Siri voices, male and female. Well, it was kind of tricky, as deleting one of the voices requires time and I even did a hard reset of my device before completing. But once the redownload process was completed, I found that both voices have been tweaked. The male voice now sounds more natural and flowing compared with all previous attempts to better the voice, and the female voice is also sounding much much better than before. I think Apple is really expanding Siri's vocal chords.
Irish and South African Siri voices.
Man, I really wish I could chuck those voices out. I love both of those accents a lot. But I don’t have iOS 12 beta on my phone.
you don't need it
sean they are already available in ios 11,3,4 or whatever the latest one is. go to voiceover settings, and then speech and then you'll see them when you add south african as i did to the rotor to make it easy you will see them as avoice. it does read characters very odd though the male voice
Not needed to have IOS 12Beta
Hello
I have an iPhone 6s running IOS 11.4 and both those new South-African English voices are installed. Currently I'm only using the female one. Unfortunately there are two draw backs using the male one. Incorrectly the male voice pronounce many words starting with the letter S as T. For example: It says tettings instead of settings and top instead of stop. When typing in any edit field letters V, B, C, P and T are pronounced as D. No problems with the female voice though. These voices are not yet available within Siri.
new siri voices
i will try the new voices for us then if you say they are improved thank you. i don't see them though as siri voices for feedback, yet they are labeled as siri voices in voiceover. the only accents i get are english american, british and us plus austraian
one oh the other
as these are meant for siri it seems you can't have say the irish male and female on the language rotor is this correct? i assume as well if i spoke with an irish dialect that these new voices would show up but i thought that the dialect voice was now separate to that of the language so an american could have a british voice responding. would love these new ones on the watch
would these voices work on the watch?
hello, does the afple watch seriei 3 use the siri voice that's on my iphone? do i have to set siri to understand irish to get these voices to show up as usable options? very odd, as when set to uk english i have the accent variants as of now as australian british and american with male and female options. would like the irish male on my apple watch
I will check them out
When I checked out the old South African English voices earlier, I found that everything was pronounced with a lisp. I am curious if these also have the lisp or not. I used to use the Australian male voice for Siri but people around me seemed a little freaked out to hear a non-American voice. People seem to accept a UK dialect but not an Australian one. I now use the American male voice for Siri and Alex for VoiceOver.
south african female siri voice disappeared
Hi, today my IPhone reverted to Samantha, and my south African female voice is no longer an option I can select. I just have Tessa and have no option to redownload it. Is this just me?
south african siri voice
same here, no female or male siri voice.
Question about the new Siri South-African English voices
Hello
Is there a way somehow to delete the new Siri South-African English voices? Strange thing happened a while ago. Sometimes I like to select the Ava US female voice to use with VoiceOver on my iPhone 8 plus. After about ten days or so I wanted to revert back to the new Siri South-African English voices, but they were gone from my phone. I selected Tessa voice, restarted my device and the Siri Sa voices appear on the list of voices, but I downloaded it again. So I did and it is here where the strangeness appear. When I downloaded the new SA Siri voices for the first time in June I discovered some serious bugs within the mail voice. When typing in any edit field, letters D, B, V, T and P all sounds like the letter D. Many words starting with the letter S sound like if they start with a T. Tettings in stead of Settings. I reported this to Apple. A couple of days later I discovered that the new Siri mail voice's filesize increased from 409 MB to 422 MB and the bugs mentioned were sorted. Now suddenly the filesize returned to 409 MB and back is the bugs. The reason why I want to delete these voices is so I can redownload them again. I have installed IOS 11.4.1.
south african siri voices
I can't find the south African siri or the irish siri voices on my phone either when I'm looking under voiceover settings. I'll try and select Tessa, and then reset my phone, and see if that fixes the problem.
Voices not currently available to download
Our understanding is that these Voices are no longer available for download and use with VOiceOVer on iOS 11, but are likely to be available with iOS 12.
We don't know why they were withdrawn, so can only assume that they were either made available too early by mistake or were found to have problems.
It seems that Apple has the ability to control the availability of voices independently of iOS releases, which would explain why these have quietly disappeared despite there being no iOS update.
