After listening to Thomas's excellent podcast update on Lire today I invested in the app. Having done so using the app as stand alone where Thomas described when adding subscriptions he had several choices to choose from if he didn't want to add a feed directly, all I could see was a search field. I typed in Applevis in to the field and hit done. I got two results, one from Google, one from Bing and not the four or five results Thomas demonstrated. I tried using other feeds such as the BBC, my local paper etc and each time all I got back were two results from Google or Bing. Anyone any ideas as to what is going on?

Same problem with Lire.
I know that the previous post was from over a year ago. However, I just downloaded Lire on my iPhone 8 with the latest iOS 11.4.1 update and I'm having the same problem. Whenever I put applevis in the search box under subscriptions it comes back with google news and bing news results. I also listened to Thomas's thorough podcast on Lire and am totally mystified as to why this is happening. I decided to use Lire in the stand-alone mode. Thanks for any help anyone can provide. I hate to pay for an app and not be able to use it correctly. Thanks.
Searching for keywords...

When you type in a keyword such as Applevis, Lire does not search for RSS Feeds matching that keyword. Instead, it offers a feed that is automatically filled with Google or Bing search results for that particular keyword.
This is in contrast to other apps, such as the Downcast Podcast app, which search within a podcast directory and offer you actual RSS / Podcast feeds as a result.
So Lire either offers to create this Bing / Google feed for you. Alternatively, if you don‘t enter a keyword, but a web address instead - such as:
https://www.applevis.com/applevis-rss-feeds
Lire will attempt to search this Web Address for available RSS Feed URLS.
I hope this makes it a bit clearer.
