Description of App
Life between myths. Clans, cows, choices.
The spiritual successor to King of Dragon Pass, Six Ages combines interactive stories and turn-based strategy. Your small clan’s survival depends on its relations with the warring gods and their followers. Play involves actions such as improving pastures, exploration, trading with your neighbors, and raiding. You can even travel to the Otherworld to visit your gods. You also need to deal with crises ranging from marauding dinosaurs to diplomatic requests to illicit love. Your choices have a politico-economic impact, but some consequences might not be obvious for decades.
It’s set in Glorantha (the world of the games RuneQuest, HeroQuest, and 13th Age), where the laws of physics are subordinate to the whims of the gods and spirits.
Six Ages is immensely replayable, thanks to over 400 interactive scenes with multiple outcomes. Short episodes and automatic saving mean you can play even when you only have a minute or two. The built-in saga writes down the story for you. And advisors with distinctive personalities help you track your cows.
Pocket Tactics: “Six Ages plays a lot like a smoother, more refined version of the earlier game.”

Much Harder Than KODP
Wow, this game is much more challenging than King of Dragon Pass, but I definitely am enjoying it. I must admit that I'm still not anywhere near to "winning". I played for about 24 years, at which point (spoiler?) a piece of the sky fell and incinerated a lot of my goods, herds, horses, and people. That was quite a setback and I haven't figured out the best way to recover from this. I'm also not sure if I should be trying to befriend the other groups (namely the Wheels and the Rams) or if making war on them is the better course of action. (Spoiler?) The Wheels united into a kingdom but my fellow Riders thought this was a bad idea so I wasn't able to follow suit. Generosity and requesting aid for otherworldly rituals seems to get me nowhere but mockery. At least I have been well-liked by most, even if they think I've gone soft. Haha, I actually restarted to see if I can be smarter about things and be more prepared for any earth-shattering crises. I'd be interested to hear any other opinions of the game, tips, feedback, etc.
Wizard
Could people make their own characters in the game? Could people be wizards or sorcerers in the game? I’ve been trying to find a game that’s accessible for iOS where people could be wizards, sorcerers and other magical beams to fight to save the world. Or create peace.
Not really that kind of game
Angel,
I'm afraid you won't find that kind of character customization in Six Ages. It's a game set in its own world, and you have to learn to think like a person living in that world in order to do well.
Tiffany J. Kim, good luck. The Skyfall event is meant to be hard to recover from. The developer just said something interesting which I'll quote here, the general feel of the game should be that things are growing steadily worse.
If you can survive in spite of all that, you're doing very well. IF you can win, of course, you're doing as well as you can do under the circumstances.
Really enjoying the game
Hi.
I'm really enjoying the game. I have King of Dragon Pass as well, but never really got into this game. I found it very confusing. It was the tutorial in Six Ages which got me started and introduced to the game.
The only extremely tricky part I have found so far is to reorganize the clan. I'm quite confused about all those families, who is who and who I should choose. I think I'm around the 12th year, but don't remember for sure.
My goal with my first playthrough is not to win the game, but just get used to how the game works. I'm glad the game keeps reminding you that it's okay you don't know everything at the beginning, because there are so many things which I have no idea on how works yet.
I have learned to use the gods the hard way. People died because I messed it up. :) The game is very challenging, extremely complex and there are so many things to explore and do.
The game is highly recommendable, but it requires lots of patience and a huge learning curve, because you will mess things up... :)
Skyfall, Etc
I'm glad to know that Skyfall is one of those big events that is meant to be an extremely challenging obstacle. I feel that this game is both more complex and detailed than King of Dragon Pass, with ventures being an addition that can (when strategically used), help to further your clan's wealth and resources, or lead to ruin. I think this game will definitely teach me how to be more disciplined and determined in the real world, haha, because it hasn't been an easy game, even on the easiest setting.
I must admit that I prefer the soundtrack of King of Dragon Pass over this one. I loved the different tracks for each of the seasons, particularly sea season and fire season in KODP. The sound track for this game reminds me of a children's television show, LOL, and it seems entirely too happy (particularly after Skyfall) and you're in the business of rebuilding. I had a clan come to try and extract annual tribute from me after Skyfall! The gall!
Families and Music
Hey SLJ,
The "families," filter in the reorganize dialog is meant for checking exactly this. You basically should try and get all seven of them represented, if at all possible. If you can't, some might complain, or you might run into other problems, but the penalties aren't too painful.
Regarding the music, you're not the only one to prefer KoDP. I really enjoy the seasonal soundtracks as well, particularly Sea Season. The victory music in SA which you get on a win is pretty nice though.
Hi Angel
You can try playing life of a wizard or the hero of kendrickstone. Hope you will like them.
I'll Be Gifting This Game
I did this with KODP years ago, because I fell in love with the game and wanted to share it with anyone interested in playing and experiencing it. That was the first game I bought when I first got an IPhone and motivated me enough to learn how to use the device. I will continue to support this developer's commitment to accessibility by doing the same for this game for anyone who might be interested in playing it. Unfortunately, my Apple ID is in the United States so I regret that I am not able to gift this to anyone outside of that region. Please just send me a message with the Apple ID E-mail that you'd like me to send the gift to, and let me know what intrigues you about the game or why you'd like to play it and I'll send it your way. I'll be gifting the first three people for now, first come/first served.
I like to play it

Re: The families filter
Hi Zack.
Yes, I know about the families filter. Maybe it's me who is doing something wrong, but I found the family members not to be sorted in families, which sometimes get solved by going away from the tab and choose it again. It acts kind of weird on my device. I have solved it, at leased for now. Maybe I just have to get more used to it.
Thank you Tiffany
Thanks to the genorocity by Tiffany, I finally have access to this game.
I have been a huge huge fan of kodp so have been looking forward to playing 6 ages.
So far I have just gotten started and the image descriptions etc add an extra depth to the game that in kodp we were missing out on.
Also, many interface choices and the game mechanics should be more refined now. The voiceover hints work pretty well, as well.
Off to play now! just wanted to express my thanks before I got lost in the game...
Falcon wings.
Has anyone
Has anyone actually beat the game?
