Hi guys! Although I've been using iOS for almost two years, I haven't used the native Music app. All I do is using the File Sharing option in iTunes and copy my music to Foobar 2000. But recently, someone asked me if I could copy something to his iPhone. It turned out to be a New Testament audio Bible, with 27 separate folders and flac files for each book contained in the dedicated folder for the book.
I've converted the files to MP3 already, but now need a guide on copying files for use in the native Music app, as he's coming for the files tomorrow. So can someone please tell me how to copy the files that is stored on my Windows computer, first to my iTunes and then to my friend's iPhone? And here are two extra things I wish to realize:
1. That the files should appear in folders for ease of navigation;
And 2. Since I've heard of "sinking" before, I don't want all the data on my friend's phone to be transfered to my iTunes, or vice versa.

Ok this maybe what you mean. First, if you have 28 individual files then I suggest you create a new folder and add all files to that. Once done go to iTunes and in the file options (ALT+F) select add folder. Find the folder and add it. This adds to the iTunes library. Once done you can then select the iPhone option where you get all the info about your phone. From there you can select from the dropdown music. You then select the new folder you added from the list. Then sync. This should then only add that folder to the phone. Each MP3 should then be there to select 1 by 1 I think. Mind it is ages since I did this so I maybe wrong with this stuff. hth

Thanks for your reply, Lee! Whenever I try copying using this process, I find it kind of difficult and tricky. So before I mess up with the files, here's a question.
I know this will work on my phone for sure, but will it be the same for my friend's phone? I mean, the process you described above only copies this folder to his phone, and not other data from my iTunes library, right?
As you see, I prefer the straightforward copy and paste in Windows, so it may take some time for me to get used to all this.

Hi David,
As long as you make sure when copying that you choose that specific folder then it should only copy that folder across. iTunes with windows is utter rubbish to be honest and is not great with screen readers I found.

I have similar feelings, so that's why I resorted to Foobar 2000 for the past two years as my music player of choice. Pus, I can copy flac files directly there.
Anyways, I'll give it a shot!
Tip
Meant to add, not sure if it works exactly the same. If you copy audiobooks across you get copy all audiobooks option or copy selected audiobooks and that is the one you choose for this. I'm guessing for music it may work the same I.E copy all music or a tick box to copy selected music.

The problem you might encounter is iTunes will alert you that the device is linked to another iTunes account and will want you to erase the device before you can continue.
I haven’t done this in a long time nor do I know if the process is still the same.
In windows, create a new profile. Log into that profile and launch iTunes. Connect your friend’s device using a USB cable. When iTunes prompts you to erase the device, select cancel. From the file menu, select device then backup device. Log into iTunes using your friend’s iTunes account. Disconnect the USB cable then reconnect. The device will now sync with iTunes normally and your friend’s account is now on your computer. You can then add or remove things.
Before you attempt the above, make sure your friend back up ther device on their computer and that you have a current back up of your Windows. This way, if any thing goes wrong, you can restore from back up.
