Unusual audio streaming issue with my iPad

Hi there, I have an iPad Air running the latest version of iOS and I’m having an issue when streaming audio.
I’m not sure if it’s the website im using or if it’s a problem with the iPad itself, but if anyone else has faced a similar problem in the past and might have a solution, I would be grateful to hear it.
When I want to listen to some audio, I press play on the website and can listen to 30 minutes of uninterrupted audio, at this time I can navigate away from the Safari app and do other things or lock the screen and the audio will continue to play in the background.
However, after exactly 30 minutes, the audio pauses and I have to go back to Safari and double tap the screen to get it to restart.
The problem is that after I do this, I can’t then lock the screen or navigate away from Safari or even from the website it’s playing on, as this will pause it, basically it won’t play in the background after 30 minutes I have to be on the website to get it to start playing again.
I have worked out a temporary solution, as I’ve disabled my iPads autolock ability, however this is not particularly practical for me as I like to do other things on the device while listening to a stream and I can only do this for 30 minutes.

If anyone has any other suggestions please let me know.

Like you, I tend to muck about with other things when either streaming or netflixing. I can't say I have had that difficulty with streaming that you have but I have seen some sites really fussy about keeping audio playing. I know I'm not helping much but am just interested if you have this problem across the board.

I can't say I've encountered this. But, it sounds like it could be a lot of things. How's your wi-fi or data reception? Maybe it drops because of bad/spotty signals? That's what I'm thinking. Or maybe the site is slow and when you do other things, it can't keep up anymore.
