Apple has today released iOS 11.3.1 and a new security update for macOS High Sierra 10.13.4.

iOS 11.3.1 addresses a recently identified problem that could cause third-party repairs done on iPhone 8 models using aftermarket parts to disable the touch functionality of the screen.

According to the release notes via MacRumors, iOS 11.3.1 also includes some unspecified security improvements:

iOS 11.3.1 improves the security of your iPhone or iPad and addresses an issue where touch input was unresponsive on some iPhone 8 devices because they were serviced with non-genuine replacement displays.

Note: Non-genuine replacement displays may have compromised visual quality and may fail to work correctly. Apple-certified screen repairs are performed by trusted experts who use genuine Apple parts. See support.apple.com for more information.

According to the macOS High Sierra 10.13.4 release notes via MacRumors:

Security Update 2018-001 is recommended for all users and is meant to improve the security of macOS. The update addresses two security vulnerabilities related to Crash Reporter and LinkPresentation, both of which could be used maliciously to gain access to a Mac. A Safari 11.1 update is also included, with fixes for WebKit vulnerabilities.

It is unlikely that either of these releases will include any changes for blind or low vision users. However, if you encounter any fixes, changes or regressions in your own testing, please let us know by posting a comment below.

I know this is a bug due to something. Not my iPhone 7. Hope this issue is fix. All the time I attempted to use my smart case from another company got the message after the second time or trying to charge the case within the iPhone. Used 2 different cases without any success. Ended up spending $80.

You need to buy an actual Apple case. That's why you're having this issue. I had it happen, with a cord I had and tried from another manufacture, and got the same issue.
Once I bought the Apple cord, the alert went away, and Vo. stopped complaining.

Dawn. I did. I think is a bug because what would be the purpose of other companies making smart cases for iPhone or other if they are not going to work. Do not care for the smart case from apple.

Hi everyone, I found that 11.3.1 fixed a bug.In iOS 11.3 or earlier, when we received a message, VoiceOver might read "message, one minute later...". This bug is now fixed in my iPhone.

Those who own an iPhone X will see some changes and improvements in the VoiceOver menu such as the new gestures which were introduced in the iPhone X‘s VoiceOver tutorial.
To go back to the home screen: slide one finger up from the bottom edge until you feel the first vibration and lift your finger. To bring up the app switcher: slide up farther from the bottom until you feel a second vibration and lift your finger.
To bring up the Control Center: slide one finger down from the top edge until you feel the first vibration and lift your finger. To bring up the Notification Center: slide down farther from the top until you feel a second vibration and lift your finger.
As of now, there are no fixes to the Braille screen input and with the iPhone X speakers as I'm suffering from sound distortion.

After using an external keyboard or a braille display, the onscreen keyboard does not reappear after it has been disconnected. I don't believe I've changed any settings of relevance to this. I have tried rebooting the phone, performing multiple soft resets, toggling VoiceOver on and off, and even resetting all settings. My next resort will be to set the phone up as new. I'm using an iPhone 8, on iOS 11.3.1. Is this a common bug, or am I doing something incorrectly? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.
