Hello,
A few IOS versions back - especially during the IOS 10 period - there used to be that feature where VoiceOver, whilst one would browse the Photos in the Photos app, would attempt to describe some of the picture content. The descriptions were never very detailed, and sometimes they were completely wrong (calling my cat a puppy and what not). But they still were a nice feature to keep track of what might be on the pictures.
Well, I upgraded to IOS 11.3, and none such descriptions are read anymore. And I can‘t find any way of getting them back.
So I was wondering if that „feature“ was just an experiment which Apple decided to remove again?
Or are the photos still being described on someone else‘s iPhone?
Thanks for any help!

Kind of
You have to do a three-finger, single-tap for the description now.
Sometimes I get different results on the thumbnail from the full picture. Also, I sometimes have to turn VO off then back on with the triple-home click to get descriptions to work, instead of just saying the position on the screen.
Restarting did it!
Thanks so much. The simple trick of turning off and back on VoiceOver helped. And you‘re right: Once VO is back on, a single tap with three fingers reads back the descriptions again. Thanks for your assistance!

If you don't get results the 1st time, swipe back once then go to the photo, and then 3-finger single tap.
I use this when Vo. is not focused on a photo. Also, I found that if I open the photo and make it full-size, I get results that way more reliably. Don't know if anyone else on here has heard of or tried these things out, but that's what I've found.
