Weather Gods 1.7

Hi All,

Just a quick note to say that Weather Gods 1.7 should be hitting the App Store.

The biggest update is for the Apple Watch, where we have greatly increased the range of complications for each watch face.

There is also a dedicated voiceover complication for each face that mimics the weather wheel, prioritising the weather conditions for each hour.

Other changes to the watch:

- feels like temperature setting is respected throughout, including the complications.
- we've worked really hard with our beta testers to improve the reliability of the updating of the watch complication - we think we are there now!
- the main watch app has been voiceover 'tuned'

To activate the new complications:

1. Launch the Apple Watch App on the phone
2. Swipe down until you find Weather Gods in the list of installed apps
3. Double tap to access the Weather Gods watch settings
4. From here, you can swipe through and access the complication configuration for the different types of watch faces

Any problems then please email me feedback@weathergodsapp.com and I will be more than happy to assist.

Main App Changes

1. Pressure trend has been reworked with the trend calculation following popular meteorological algorithms. We also indicate if the pressure is rising slowly or rapidly and the same for when it is falling.

2. Follow me notifications have been toned down and now only trigger if you have moved 10 miles or 15 kilometres from a previous location.

3. Tapping a notification will launch weather gods and automatically load the location associated with the notification.

4. The 3d touch on the Weather Gods icon is now working.

Finally, I would like to say a big thank you to our beta testers and translators for helping make Weather Gods the app that it is.

Hope you are all having a great Sunday!
Scott

Weather gods is now the only app on my phone. Thanks for making it awesome! I really love the follow me thing

Thanks for this update especially the complications on the Apple Watch. Like many I was looking for an app that provided more information on the Apple Watch face. Weather Gods gives me exactly what I was looking for!

Well done on the continued development of this outstanding app, especially for your continued support of us Voiceover users.

Malcolm.

Love this update scott. Just one thought, in the weather wheel in the iPhone app, it seems to loose focus. The thing I'd like to see is when you click on the wheel, VO will land on the next hour/day buttons. Instead it is reading the fire god etc buttons like it is still in the main weather gods window.
Also, Still noting that it's still saying degrees fahrenheit instead of just saying Degrees, or degrees F.
Great job, and looking forward to the next big reveal in the gods.

Thanks Jimmy, Malcolm and Justin :)

Justin, I've experienced that bug as well with the main screen 'under' the weather wheel, difficult one to track down ... will dig deeper.

Well goodness me - I was looking forward to changing form the weather app to the Weathergods app for my weather complication. I selected Voiceover smart conditions from within the app, and added the Weathergods complication to the modular watchface. Unfortunately all i get is gibberish (something like: Weathergods 11 , - 0' or similar. I've tried fiddling about with it, by getting it to locate me, for example, but although Weathergods knows I'm in London (UK) the complication still does'nt work. Nor do any of the other Weathergods complications work. Please advise as this is a great app and I really want the same experience other folk seem to be enjoying.

Hi, sorry to hear about the problem with the complications. Not really sure what is going on there.

One thing to try is to double tap from the complication to launch the watch app. Check the weather on the main screen is sensible and then hit the home button to return back to the watch face and then re-check.

Let me know if this helps at all?
Thanks
Scott

Hello,

I initially had the same problem you describe.

I am using the Modular Watch Face.

I have the Weather Gods complication at top left with the Voiceover option set.

Try switching to another watch face then switching back to your chosen watch face. Does it read as expected now?

Thank you, scott and Malcolm, for your comments. Scott, I did try tapping the complication and was initially presented with some weird and wonderful-sounding 27 degrees wwith a light breeze, which certainly ain't the case here! Anyway that lasted a second or two before it reverted to the somewhat less inspiring conditions in london today. Malcolm13, nice job! I tried what you suggested and it worked. I love the detail on the Voiceover smart conditions complication - it's superb! This is a great update Scott and thank you for it.

Ah, I now understand the 27 degrees part :)

Yes, Apple insist on template complications which are displayed in the main Apple Watch App and I'm guessing that these are probably the defaults.

I haven't found an easy way of forcing the complication update when changing the complication type using the iPhone Apple Watch App. The most reliable method is to double tap to enter the Weather Gods watch app and then back out again to the main watch face. This forces a refresh of the complication type.

Unfortunately for me at least launching the Weather Gods app then returning to my chosen watch face did not update the complication. Not sure whether a reboot of the watch would have fixed it, but the only way I got it to update was to switch to another watch face then back to my Modular one.

Still a very welcome update to an already outstanding app.

All we want now is for the weather gods to smile on us and bring some spring weather to the UK and dare I mention summer?

Thanks.

Malcolm.

I currently don’t use this app, not for any particular reason — I’ve just had no need for a new weather app as of now. However, I am a relatively-new owner of an Apple watch, and am investigating the different options for weather-related watchface complications. Could someone tell me what the Weather Gods complication can display, i.e what info? :)

Hello,

On my Apple Watch series two, the Weather Gods Compilation says the following when you place your finger on it.

5 Degrees feels like 3 Degrees, overcast, wind from the north-east, 10 Miles per hour, gentle breeze rain unlikely, snow unlikely, no gust, very low ultraviolet frost unlikely. Last updated 11 April at 17:06.. Hope that gives you some idea of the detail spoken.
