I hope that this is the right location to be posting this. I have played around with my iphone and have not been able to figure out how to get voiceover to go to the area on the screen where it tells me the signal strength but more importantly the battery power. I tried to use one finger and flick to the left but it didn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jennifer

On the phone, just touch the top of the screen. Top left is signal strength, top right is battery power, top middle is time. Between time and battery are things like orientation lock status, bluetooth status, and so on. On a braille keyboard, press space-s.

Yes, flicking all the way to the left will only take you to the top element of that screen, and VO doesn't consider the status bar as part of that. Like previously mentioned, just touch right near the top of the phone, and listed along the top is all the status indicators, they include your signal strength, what network your on, if you are using 3G and or WiFi, then the time, then depending on if the screen is locked, or if you have music playing etc, followed by your bluetooth indicator, and last but not least, your battery status. You can also get to the status bar using the key stroke VO key plus m. Hope this helps!

I agree with the following post. I just simply touch the top center section of the screen until I hear my time. At this point you can go right or left to find your information.
