Not sure wich forum this falls in line with...
I am using a wireless keyboard with my iPad Pro 9.7. I would like to know if there is a way to get the iPad to give sound when typing because I tend to use words as typing echo. This would make things easier.
When using a touch screen keyboard it makes clicking sounds. This is understandable when it doesn’t work on braille, but is there a way to make it sound when using a bluetooth keyboard?

Hi,
Hi,
Set your keyboard echo to characters, you can do this, i believe in the typing echo part of VO settings, or use the rotor to get there I think.
Good solution
Awesome. Didn’t think of this. It is very hard for me to write using the word typing echo because I cannot hear what I am typing. I found where it was and changed it. Now since I am writing this post with the keyboard on my iPad I actually think this is better. Wow, those clicking sounds would have made me mad. My friend uses the on screen keyboard and it clicks all the time and it is enough to make me crazy. I think I am going to advice for her to actually turn that off in the sounds section on the settings app.
knowing where i am in a txt document
First time posting to this great site: I have a number of books, hundreds of pages long, in txt format; remember the Windows days when the screen reader gave what they called the status line: doc 1, line 1, pos 10, or whatever? Is there any way to get a sense with VO where one is in such a document; so, a page, or percentage thru the document, or anything? Thanks, y'all!

Howdy, Bryan,
The way I do it is do a single three finger tap on the screen, and it'll say something like page 1 of 130.
