Hi everyone. Have been struggling with the three finger single tap to recognise what’s in a photo. VO Just says Centre of screen. I’ve tried it in the photos app and Facebook app This has only happened since I updated to the latest version of iOS 11. Is anyone else Experiencing this problem?

Sometimes I have this issue. Usually, what I do is swipe away from the the photo then swipe back to the photo. If that doesn't work, I do the same steps above, but I 3-finger single tap again. May have to do this a few times, but it works.
Also, have you tried making the photo go to full-screen? I've heard that's best results. I agree and do that as well! I think it mkaes the photo bigger which allows Vo. to see more of it & get better focus on it. I'm not on the latest ios. 11 version yet and have issues every so often. Hope this helps.
Try this
Turn VO off then back on with the triple home button short cut. I can't remember if I've tried this since the last update, but I have to do that every once in a while. It's just now and then that it happens.

When I first upgraded to IOS11 I had no luck at all with this feature.
Then, at some point in the upgrade cycle, it just worked. VO was suggesting words on unlabelled buttons, photos were well described and photos with text, well they were read crisp and clear.
And then, just as quickly as it started working, the photo describer stopped working.
Now I find the 3 finger tap to be a hit and miss affair. More miss than hit, truth be told.
The biggest loss for me, however, is in the Photos App itself. For one glorious version,IOS10, all of my photos were accurately described. And not after messing around by 3 finger tapping on a full screen version of the picture, with screen curtain off, full brightness enabled and tongue poking out of the corner of my mouth in the universal sign of concentration. No, these descriptions were just there as I scrolled through my photo Roll, no effort required from me at all.
Oh, how I miss that version of the Photos App.

I’m very grateful for your suggestions. The voice over turning on and off seems to have done the trick. I hope they continue to work on this feature.

hi, I have no problem at all with the 3 fingers single tap on the screen to get the description of the photo. I'm using iOS 11.2, I think it's the best iOS 11 version for right now. everything works smoothly for me for this version.
