Hi all,
Today when I opened Skype on my MacBook Air, it automatically updated itself to version 8.11.0.4 and the experience with VoiceOver has changed from not too bad to terrible. It seems to lag loads when pressing any button, with VoiceOver reporting it as "Busy" for a good 5 seconds after clicking the My info or Contacts buttons, for example. When scrolling through the contact list, the names of the contacts are read but selecting them using the up and down arrow keys together takes me to the chat section for a completely different contact to what VO just announced. I still can't figure out how to call people on the latest version, I had to get them to Skype me in the end, and even then the first time they tried calling, it was ringing but VO kept announcing "Skype has no windows", so I couldn't even find the answer button. When trying to change the output settings, which I change a lot when I'm using Skype for my radio show, it announces the output options as a popup menu, however pressing this only seems to bring up a list of numbers ranging from 0 to 10. I assume these are something to do with the volume? I eventually managed to change it, a list of available outputs comes up at the very bottom of the screen and you'll come across it if you're lucky, not the popup button as announced.
Is anyone else having these issues? With the way the iOS app has got with VO in recent versions, I should have seen this coming, but it's now so frustrating that I can't even work out how to make a call. If no one has found a workaround for any of the issues mentioned above, does anyone know how I can revert back to the previous version? I don't have a time machine backup unfortunately, so I doubt it'd be possible.
Thanks so much for any help.

It's horrible.
Someone told me about this update
I heard about this update. I have never had it automatically update on me but now, I may check this out to see if this indeed does happen. If you get back to the older version, turn off automatic updates.

Thanks for the link, but it looks like this is a Windows file. I’m on MacOS so this won’t work for me, unless there is a Mac version
I was wondering the same last night
I was wondering the same thing last night when I was working on talking to someone. Ended up having to use Google Hang out.

Re:
It's a .dmg file, it will open on your Mac
I'm sticking with...
I'm sticking with the earlier version of skype until it either stops working or they fix their crap. Messed around with the latest update about a month ago, and nop. Not gonna touch it again.
Thanks for the version!
I've been trying to find a downgrade ever since this hell was forced upon me, unfortunately a previous commenter was correct, you've posted a .exe file.
Earlier version
Apologies, the first commenter has posted a .dmg file. When clicking the link on my iPhone, it took me to a page with a .exe file, but clicking it from the Mac downloaded a .dmg file without even leaving the AppleVis site, pretty cool! So yes, Mac users can use that link :)
Skype Update
I was about to say that that’s a massive shame that accessibility is now awful for Skype on the Mac as previously, I used it a lot. I saw the link to the earlier version so that should work for me; I just hope that it’s sorted soon so we can upgrade to the latest version with it still being accessible.
